This guy is a rarity that understands the depth of mountaineering.” After finishing your video, you have confirmed my thoughts. Thank you for sharing your journey. I wish you much success.
Rizza thank you for your brutally honest video about your personal attempt to climb Mt. Everest. After viewing your video I feel a great amout of respect for you. You came and gave it your best shot and were smart enough to say I have reached my limit with this broken regulator and to go on would be fatal. It is refreshing to see someone who is not totally consumed by pride and arrogance to think that something just has to be done not matter the danger. It takes more guts to stop and turn around than to keep going and endanger others just for your own pride.
Coming down was absolutely the wisest choice of your life; so many get summit fever and die up there. I have more respect for you than those who summited. It must have been so hard. Thank you for letting us see your amazing Everest experience!!
It's refreshing to see someone who puts their own life ahead of summiting Everest. So many others threw caution to the wind and is dead because of it. Your right....your life is much more important than climbing a mountain to the top!
I just saw you on another documentary, which reminded me of this footage, I had watched many years ago. This is THE most profound footage I have ever watched. Many years later, I remembered. I recall you doing the kumbu icefall. Incredibly brave. In my mind, you are one of the bravest and most admirable of any footage I have watched. So glad you turned back.
It caught me too. I understand what you mean...it's very rare to say it in such full of submission, only when we're between life and death experience :)
I cried in the end man, cant imagine how emotionally traumatizing yet the best decision you could have made! So glad you're alive, Keep trying always!!
Huge respect to you. Very inspiring and eye opening, Yes, the mountain will be always up there and I can feel the empathy of the dilemma in that situation. It’s not always about winning or losing, it’s how you face the situation and respond to it. You can say it’s a success story of bringing memory and life together.
Rizza, this is the best video I’ve seen on climbing Everest. You’re a very likable person. You have a wonderful humility and respect for the mountain. I was rooting for you. So glad you were able to be there and you are wise beyond your years. God bless you!
The fact that you have never stepped on a ladder for crossing crevasse before and you are on the way to climb a 8000m peak, says whats wrong with everest expeditions.
For lord's sake, the guy was talking about the mat like he thought he would get a mattress. Thank god he came back alive. Never seen any everest seeker so under prepared as this guy. Only trained human beings should be allowed to climb the everest. Such people put others lives at risk, especially the Sherpas.
@@majidmagray4232 not all mountains are called THE Everest! A known climber who presents blowing a mat as if people assume they sleep on mattress and talks about water freezing and wind? Well, he needs years of training for everest.
I think you are missing the point. This man made the decision to come back down because he was humble enough and rational enough to realize that he was not prepared. There are so many dead bodies on Everest because people refuse to accept that fact. “My regulator is broken, I can still make it”. “I left later than I should for the summit, I can still make it”. “I’m exhausted, I can still make it.” It’s easy to sit there and judge him, but at the end of the day, he assessed the risks, made a decision, and realized the risk outweighed the cost and benefit. Very few people have the clear state of mind to do that, especially when you have already made the trip to Everest and spent so much money and invested so much time. Kudos to him I say.
You're champ bro. I totally agree with your decision. If I were there in that situation, I would decide the same. You did what billions of people even do not try.
I like this personal vid log better than the professional ones. It is more intimate and gives a better vicarious experience. The mountains feel much more real.

I believe that even though you may have been the youngest person (at only 18) in the line of 300 people, you were one of the wisest! It's so very hard to do the right thing & turn around. You've got to trust your inner voice.
You deserve the respect even you couldn't reach to submit. Life is more important as you said in the video. Love from nepal country of Himalayas. 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵

Thank you for being smart! There are so many people who haven’t made it back. Everest will always be there. In my mind you are more brave and heroic than anyone who made it to the summit. The decision to chose life over the summit! Put up a kickstarter next time.
If he was “smart,” he wouldn’t have tackled Mt. Everest without gaining plenty of prior experience at lower altitudes, on fixed ropes, and in high altitude climbing. Inexperienced climbers who think mountaineering, especially on the advanced peaks, is some kind of daydreamers’ cake-walk, are responsible for plenty of other people losing their lives on mountains like Everest. Glad he’s alive. Even more glad that the sherpas whose lives he put in danger with his foolishness are alive.
I'm so proud of you sharing your experience climbing the Mt. Everest with us! You did it! You've done all the work to get up there, bravo! Thank you so much I'm overwhelmed 🙏
Rizza Alee you are welcome much respect🙏
Rizza thank you for your brutally honest video about your personal attempt to climb Mt. Everest. After viewing your video I feel a great amout of respect for you. You came and gave it your best shot and were smart enough to say I have reached my limit with this broken regulator and to go on would be fatal. It is refreshing to see someone who is not totally consumed by pride and arrogance to think that something just has to be done not matter the danger. It takes more guts to stop and turn around than to keep going and endanger others just for your own pride.
well said!
Coming down was absolutely the wisest choice of your life; so many get summit fever and die up there. I have more respect for you than those who summited. It must have been so hard. Thank you for letting us see your amazing Everest experience!!

This story is such an inspiring one, summit or not...you still were there!!! And that’s STILL an achievement!👏
Huge respect to you. Very inspiring and eye opening, Yes, the mountain will be always up there and I can feel the empathy of the dilemma in that situation. It’s not always about winning or losing, it’s how you face the situation and respond to it. You can say it’s a success story of bringing memory and life together.

The fact that you have never stepped on a ladder for crossing crevasse before and you are on the way to climb a 8000m peak, says whats wrong with everest expeditions.
That's true. That is a problem.
Exactly, people are straight going for the top, there are other 7000 m peaks which is less dangerous as compare to Everest. It is unbelievable.
“I’m exhausted, I can still make it.”
It’s easy to sit there and judge him, but at the end of the day, he assessed the risks, made a decision, and realized the risk outweighed the cost and benefit. Very few people have the clear state of mind to do that, especially when you have already made the trip to Everest and spent so much money and invested so much time. Kudos to him I say.
He said Bismillah a couple of times while crossing the ladder. ❤️

U had the best decision over at the moment my brother.
Your life is more important than k2 Everest nd many others highest peak
If sherpas stops climbing, we would hardly see people on top.
they won't they've got families to feed!
Gary Johal ASMR and they do pay them a nice amount I think
It's not about will they stop, it's if they....and the answer is if they stop...yes definitely only the true climbers may summit
Royals All the “climbers” have to do is pull themselves up with jumars on fixed ropes that the sherpas died putting up
if sherpas stop climbing they will just be replaced by another mountain climber who wants to make excellent money. They arent gods they are paid to preform a duty. and its not impossible to climb the mountain without them .
Absolutely the right decision ! Listening to the sherpa who has way more experience and being sensible! Alhamdulillah! Awesome watching your experience.
