You've seen the land I live and ride on (video) and it's a part of me for sure. I started with nothing but bare land and beautiful nature and camped out here every year to work on this place. Those camping years gave me a true love of the natural beauty and wildlife that live here. While making changes and building things I've always striven to maintain those two things. When you spoke of your feelings and shared your thoughts about the land, both past and present I could feel what you were saying just as easy as I heard it. 🧡
I felt like I was riding that Morgan horse of yours. Covering the miles. When I was a little girl in New York , I could never see a field without seeing a horse running on it. I’m so glad you achieved your dream.
@@LilyGazou That's great to hear, time on horseback is never wasted time. New York, Connecticut, Vermont that's the Morgan horses home territory. I'm glad to say there's more horses than people where I live. They make wonderful neighbors and even better family members than most humans. 😅 My rural life can be kinda tough but it always makes me feel like I'm living a good life. 🧡 😏🐴
I have so much more to learn of your journey.....You contain such mystery and you are an eloquent speaker...that much I am certain....I, as I imagine, many of your followers, sit quietly hanging on your every word, wishing for more. Unfortunately the Biden family is thoroughly corrupt. Joe is so mentally vacant at this point, we wonder who is running the country. They are doing their best to get us into another war and to send hundreds of trillions out of the country. We acquire another trillion in debt every 100 days. I ask military families what they think- they don’t want their sons and daughters going into the services. These are people with long histories of service. My father, my brother were in the military. (My grandparents were Irish so that’s how far back US experience goes. ) No one wants to fight for global corporations while veterans are neglected and seniors are living in cars, the border is wide open and crime is soaring. It’s chaos. Any party other than the two major ones gets ignored by the media. So it’s hard for anyone with better ideas to get traction. I just try to persuade people to get involved with local politics.

Wow, this is like like a poetry postcard. Regardless of the subject matter, this is the most pleasant thing to listen to and watch. This flows so smoothly. Clearly very talented at this, Lily. About the desperate need for more politicians and lawyers, who else would perform the tireless task of "advocacy"? 🙂
🤣 you know, when I was 17, I was soooo interested in politics and advocacy and padding my resume as a community organizer. Not. Although I would have been up for a year in a foreign country.
Oh wow, you have a lovely voice… and such profound insights, it feels like your whole video is a poem … made me rethink about fire and change in a different perspective! I came to support your channel, but got enriched and enlightened by your words as well. Thank you so much! sending love your way! :D
Thanks for sharing your walkabout after-work film. Robert Frost's "Nothing Gold Can Stay" poem comes to mind. It's a real gem; you can look at the forest fire in two ways, destruction or rejuvenation. Rejuvenation comes in many forms, but going back to Frost's poem, it's all about how beautiful things don't last forever. Just think about how, in spring, the leaves and flowers start off this gorgeous golden colour - like they're made of gold. But that beauty doesn't stick around for long. The leaves turn green; before you know it, they're gone. Frost is saying that the really perfect and beautiful stuff in life, just like those golden leaves, doesn't stick around forever. It's like life's way of telling us that nothing can stay perfect forever - everything changes and shifts with time. Your sorrow for the destruction will be short-lived when you see the sparkle of new growth.
The new growth is there- it was just burnt soil and tree stumps a few years ago, sometimes holes in the ground where the trees burned downward and the flames chased the roots. Then some of the dead trees fell over in winter winds and provided habitat. And some trees managed to survive despite burned bark. Those are the ones I prepared by cutting off their lowest branches where they bent down to the brush that becomes fuel in September. The wind blew seeds and the melting snow watered it all. And now you see a carpet of grasses and the shrubs are waist high with regrowth. The Toyota won’t be back but the green will. I love your films. I love the Frost poem. Every spring since my school days I wait for that moment when I can say - Nature’s first green is gold. And everywhere I have ever lived , I planted daffodils because of Wordsworth’s poem about them.
@@LilyGazou It's Great to hear new growth has arrived, no pun intended, but out of the ashes, new life begins. Mother Nature has the wonderful ability to replenish itself; sorry to hear about the Toyota, though. I'm glad you enjoyed my films. I have a week off work, so plenty of walking and editing of content. There will also be plenty of reading of poetry to help with the choices from work. A poem helps with the tempo of the film. Have you ever considered being a voice-over actor or reading for Librivox? You have a nice, soothing, and clear voice. It's only a thought.
@@Lost_Histories you are so kind about the voice idea. I have a brain injury so I record one sentence at a time , listen back to see if it’s correct and understandable. Maybe I just need more practice, daily. Why not? I will practice more.
