Got mine done yesterday. Honestly, getting a cavity filled was worse for me. The root canal was completely painless and the healing process is MUCH easier than getting a cavity filled. I was so nervous for nothing! The most painful part was holding my mouth open for so long and the injections.

My treatment was completely painless. Maybe I just had some good specialist but I just took some ibuprofen for about 4 days and I was back to normal. For those who haven't gotten it yet, I can tell you it definitely isn't all that bad if it's done right.
To all who are here cause they freaking out due to the root canal. I just got one done today and the worse part was just the numbing portion. Besides that it’s not where as bad as you think. But definitely get your prescription when u leave the recovery is alittle sore.
I'm currently under this treatment. I'm gonna tell you about the whole journey I've experienced. 1st appointment: I was sacred af..I thought I'm gonna die here.. Moreover I was living a miserable life for the infection. So if my tooth had even a simple touch i would die. But fortunately the dentist made me numb at first. For making me numb, he injected a liquid to my mouth. Then started the cleaning process. It was exactly like this video..The process was PAINLESS. You won't feel a single thing after being numb. So don't fear at all..You will only feel pain when the dentist injects you. But it is not that much painful, in some cases u will just feel like having a pinch. And absolutely it is better than having the pain what that tooth gave you back then.. after that day I finally lived the best time after so long.. That pain of the infection was killing me..I got peace finally. 2nd appointment : Today i got the second appointment. It is also the cleaning process..Today, the dentist brought out some rotten nerves from my teeth..that was scary..and yes today she didn't make me numb.. because today i really didn't need to be numb..The process was painless at all.
SO wroth it! My toothache was stopping me from living my life entirely! The procedure was so quick and (mostly) painless! The only pain was from the very first anesthesic injection, from then on, absolutely nothing. Plus now I'll never feel pain again!
@@spunkybanda4782 They dont drill into the gum. You will get an injection and after that you wont feel a thing. I actually enjoyed the procedure since it felt kinda good knowing that your tooth is going to be fixed.
today was - this animation makes it look so quick and easy. Actually quite a bit of steps but thankfully I can reassure it is completely painless. Just really numb and sore hours later. Tooth will be better. Good luck.
Had one done a couple of weeks ago.. and let me just say YOUR SCARED FOR NOTHING. It doesn’t hurt and the one your get the first pinch from the injections you will be fine. I would suggest taking some ear buds or headphones so u don’t have to listen to all their tools. HOPE THIS HELPS🙌🏽🌟

Well i agree with the headphones suggestions and yeah it didn’t hurt that much but it do hurt sometimes like when the injections is gone like it hurt so much and it scared me like i feel nth and the next second it hurt and it made me jump and also when the injections still work it didn’t hurt but u can still feel the pressure that they put on you tho and it scared asf
@@rainbo17 change dentist, trust me even if you feel ashamed, change the doctor. I had 4 root canals and only one was painful but only at the second appointment of that tooth, the first surgery to relief me from pain never hurt. The dentist needs to numb professional if not you feel it the first time of the procedure. So my second appointment after pain relief was without numbing, he wanted that to see if the teeth is still active. Yeah it is. But he stopped immediately when I said the pain gets to strong. So now I’m waiting for the third time checking it. Did you mean that with painful? Or did you feel pain the first time when you got numbed and went there with a bad tooth? Cause I never had any pain when I went in pain to the dentist and he numbed me. Only the infection is F ing me up, it’s not painful but I can feel it inside there. The tooth is still active. 9 days. I’m waiting for my next appointment. Hopefully the tooth is dead and clean from infection in other words painless 😜
Guys, just had a root canal treatment. The local anesthesia doesn't hurt, the treatment doesn't hurt, the only thing is after the intervention you still feel the area numb. It's been an hour for me and I feel strange not feeling part of my mouth, but still no pain, just strange feeling after. Don't be scare and fix your tooth before you get an extraction and this one will hurt.
@@catalinchicet3337 hello! I am feeling very great, I went back yesterday and they did a little More work and shaped my tooth for the actual crown itself. They took the temporary crown off and put it back on (very painless). Doctor said the real crown will be available in 2 weeks! Hope this answers your question, good luck with your procedure!

As for your other question about the crown, I think your wisdom tooth should be removed and therefore you won't need the crown. Almost isn’t good enough. Brush twice, 2 minutes per session. Get a good brush if it’s frayed throw it out. Floss every night. And make sure you watch videos on how to properly do all of these. And if you are higb risk use a mouthwash with flouride. Genes have influence, but our diets and habits are the biggest reasons for cavities and tooth decay.
Guys if your about to go get a root canal done just remember, I got 2 done at the same time today. The only part that is uncomfortable is the drilling. It doesn’t even hurt. There’s just a bunch of pulling and pressure.
@@SALMANKHAN-zz4gi I think he is talking about 4 of them being wisdom teeth. Losing wisdom teeth is normal you don't need those anyways. And you wouldn't put implants in their place. Dentist suggest just removing them rather than filling them.

Finally got it done today after suffering for so many years. My dentist asked me to get it done years ago but I kept pushing it because of my dentophobia. I'll just share my experience here with y'all. First appointment: It was hectic tbh. My dentist cleaned my infected tooth and let me tell you it was extremely painful. Even after taking painkillers n all that, I was crying in pain. Idk how long that pain lasted as I fell asleep while crying lol. Second appointment: It wasn't painful at all. My dentist just used a tool (idk what its called) to trim my tooth...? Again idk what he did but it wasn't painful at all. Third appointment: He used those paperclip like thingy to pull out the rotten nerves, it wasn't that painful since he numbed that area. However I could still feel some of the pocks. But after that i didn't have to take painkiller or anything! Fourth appointment: It was kinda similar to the third appointment. The tooth also got crowned which is technically the last step of these entire process. The entire time my anxiety was killing me but yeah, I ended up doing it anyway. If you guys need to do it, i will suggest to go for it. I know with anxiety and the fear of needles, it's going to be a tough decision for you guys, but you gotta do everything for your wellbeing. Im just did my 1st day rct today. For my molar tooth. I dont know wether the procedure failed or not, but today my doc said that the infection in my tooth quite serious as she seemed cannot clean up the tooth canal properly bcause the tooth keep bleeding. She ended up gave me antibiotics n painkillers to cope the infection 1st and hope it can cure the bleeding and continue the procedure nex week. (2nd appointment) Im still in pain right now but thankfully the pain decreasing. The whole process just now quite hectic and painful for me especially when she was using the needle type kind of thing to clear the canal. Hope my tooth can be saved. So worry that the outcome is end up fail. 😢
Just did my 1st session of rootcanal was so nervous but it went well now just relaxing as I wait for numbness on my face to wear off last nyt didnt sleep at all
I apology for my english. My front teeth root canal: 1st appointment: The dentist took out the nerve and cleaned the root. Got a white spot in my gum. No pain during the procedure and after. I was under anesthesia. 2st appointment: He cleaned the root again and filled it with some material. Still had the white spot from the cleaning products. No anesthesia, had a little bit of pain but it didn't last long. No pain after the procedure. 3rd appointment: I have made an infection above my teeth (the white spot got more whiter and the gum went to a darker color beside the white spot)..The dentist cut a part of my gum to see if it will regenerate..I hope it does..He started without anesthesia, I felt pain so he anesthesied me. No pain during the procedure (while being under anesthesia). 4th appointment: The infection got better and the dentist filled the tooth canal. No anesthesia and no pain. 5th appointment: My tooth hurts bad when I bite or chew. He opened the tooth canal again and he also applied medicine on my gum which it started to regenerate a little. Paintment update: I didn't paid at all yet. The dentist told me that I'll pay after the tooth is completly done and that it will cost 20,51€. 24,86$, 31,58$ CAD I did a little conversion so that it will be easy for you guys. Conversion date :12.03.2021 Let me know if u want me to update u on my condition.
Hey! I was sooo stressed and anxious to get mine, but everything was 100 percent okay. NO PAIN at all. Tip: Bring earbuds, i found them to be a lot.more relaxing
Just got my root canal done, I still have to do the crown next week, but the worst part was the numbing shots in the beginning but they do it fast. I have to say though the pressure they put on your teeth and mouth during the whole thing is a little scary, I thought my teeth was going to fall out lol but I knew that wasn’t going to happen and luckily they let me listen to music with earphones so I tried to zone out that pressure with the music. Overall, YOULL BE FINE!
The three dentists who did my three root canals said it is a lot easier to get people numb if they don't wait until they have a bad ache but come in as soon as their tooth starts bothering them. Good advice!

I just got mine done and I was freaking out for the first 20 mins but then I was fine. The pain relief needle is tiny and you won’t feel a thing! Let me know how it goes! Jia x
I had my first session 1 day ago and tomorrow is my second session. It IS scary but it doesnt hurt at all. The only time i got hurt was because of the anesthesia and i felt the needle piercing my gums and that hurt a lot later when the anesthesia wore off. The teeth has this weird itch and a throbbing sensation but no pain. Wish me luck for my second session 💕
mine hurts when the file goes too deep, I wanna punch my dentist but i gotta endure it. Its on my front teeth thu. Also the assistant holds the suction and sucks to much saliva that my whole mouth is so dry lol

I literally cried a lot when my dentist injected me the anesthesia at the front. It was really painful for me but thank God I endured it. All I can say about my experience with anesthesia is it's worth it. After having it my whole mouth is so numb that I felt like my whole skull doesnt exist at all lol

The area around your tooth is probably still tender from all the drilling done just wait a few days and it probably shouldnt hurt anymore but if it still does book a other appointment and tell them what's going on
Don't be scared of getting a root canal. It looks really scary but isn't, with anesthesia you practically feel very little pain or none, the most painfull part is actually when they drill inside the tooth to remove the infection. Other than that everything else is pretty much painless.

I've had root canal on about 6-7 on my teeth and I'm only 20. I brush my teeth twice a day didn't miss a day so far & I floss, I don't drink acidy things etc. My genes are really bad.... But yeah what I wanna say is: this operation really really doesn't hurt at all once your mouth is numbed, my teeth normally get numb in 1 injection but last time it took 2 injections, I just told my dentist that I feel slight pain and he did the 2nd injection, you literally only feel pressure. Tomorrow I'm going again cause I have a fever & literally shaking & crying from ache, and I cant even touch my gum near the tooth, so I'll just tell him to put a numbing gel on my gums first, u can do that too if ur gums are sensitive, pls don't be scared it's like 1 out of 10 pain wise, and thats because its uncomfortable to have your mouth open, I literally almost fall asleep everytime lol
I had anesthesia, the doctor gave me a ton of it, but you know what? THE PAIN DURING THE PROCEDURE WAS EXCRUCIATING! Even though the area felt numb but the pain was crazy when the doctor was working on the tooth itself
My dentist told me today that I have to go through this process. When I first heard it I thought "wtf is that?" Then he explained they gonna go deep and remove my nerves etc and it made me so scared. I just got home and immediately did research, and the fact that this is really common and that millions of people also did research made me feel better in a way😂
i had 5 root canals in the past. i'll tell you the ages they were done. 5, 6, 7, 9, and another at 9. i never brushed my teeth and the root canals were horrible. i got injections but were awake the whole time, and i was crying through it all. it hurt so bad and now i brush my teeth so much, to avoid getting them again

I got a tooth extracted yesterday and the only part that hurt was the shots, I’m getting a root canal for another tooth next month and I’m scared to go through those shots again, I’m not even scared for the actual procedure
@@mavisplaylistforyou Yes....for me it didn't pain at all😂 The doctor was very friendly, first he gave me a drop, after that the injection. It didn't even hurt a bit. And for the next 40minutes he operared on my tooth and I really couldn't feel any pain, just when the nerve was removed I felt little sensitivity but that was okay.☺️ Overall its a wonderful experience.
Had one today. I was extremely worried before the procedure. I’d experienced the removal of one of my teeth before but I thought this procedure would be worse and hurt more. Turns out it was completely painless and I enjoyed listening to music the entire time. When my doctor injected the local anaesthetic, he communicated with me in a way so it took a few seconds for me to notice my injection. It was a bit uncomfortable holding my mouth open for so long though.
To all those who did or are gonna do root canal, do take care of your teeth after the treatment....my gums get swollen due to toothaches for some days after every few months...the pain started after 3-4 years after my root canal treatment....u can't even chew ur food due to this pain...😖
Parul Vats - I'm 12, had my root canal done over a week ago. It was a very fascinating experience, I must say. First, they inject local anesthesia into your gums, to make it painless. Second, they clean the tooth with a drill or something like that, you'll only feel pressure though, I was calm throughout the whole procedure. My mom offered me a relaxation pill, but I declined and decided that I'd toughen up rather than be a wimp lol. They'll use an x-ray to see what's left to fill, they'll probably do this around 3-4 times. Third, they'll begin filling the tooth with some type of material, this could take around an hour or so. The whole procedure is 2 hours and 30 minutes, I was a little impatient but I was very excited to see the result, it turned out extremely well! You'll feel numb in your mouth, but you can still talk. I recommend taking a painkiller 30-60 minutes after the procedure. Mine didn't hurt at all after that, felt absolutely nothing. Anyways, I wish you the best if you're planning to have the procedure, it isn't bad at all!
Had this done yesterday and can't say it didn't hurt. It really hurt but it wasn't unbearable BUT IT STILL HURT. Idk if this was because of my dentist or smth but I could still feel the pain even after they numbed me lmao.
Just had my first session on my abscessed tooth and it wasn't painful at all. I'm relieved thanks to my dentist and looking forward for my second session with courage. The only tiny pain I had was when they injected the LA. Even half of my lips and tongue along with the entire jaw became numb and it felt like touching a different material. For patient with abscessed tooth I suggest to take an appointment after the swelling (if it doesn't decrease by time pls visit the dent' asap)as I experienced a little pain after the RCT. Otherwise it was painless and relieving.
does the numbness of the took bother you and can you still chew hard stuff with that tooth and does the lack of sensation in the tooth feels annoying + any side effects please respond i may get one and i'm scared about the results more than the pain i dont't want my nerves cut off for life
@@jannatjunaid7 the numbness only lasted for 4 hrs in my case. Everything felt normal for me but I suggest you to eat away from your treated tooth as it's in the healing phase. I didn't have any side effects but it can differ from person to person.
For all of you guys freaking out. I’m a dental assistant. The worst part is just getting numbed and it just leaves your gum and cheeks a little sore. Also you have to keep you mouth open for a bit. That’s all really 🤷🏻♀️
okay so uh what happened was that the only part that hurted was the injecting anesthesia part (but i've done that part before multiple times) but the other stuff didn't hurt me like obv. i was supposed to get a root canal on another tooth too, but they couldn't save it and they ended up taking the whole tooth. it wasnt that bad tho actually
When you do a root canal treatment the tooth is very prone to fracture, I as dentist first do filling if there is a chance if not then I continue with the crown treatment. Take care of your teeth, your health is your life...
Guys I just had it done few minutes ago trust me first they do one spray for little anesthesia then they do the needle so it doesnt hurt I was so scared I was going to cry but I was relaxed when the needle went inside then they do the stuff and all it didint hurt but there's one machine which is kinda vibrative it hurted me its the part I got hurt but don't worry ITS BEARABLE FIRST OF ALL THE DENTIST WAS SO SWEET HE KEEPS DISTRACTING YOU. ❤
I had my root canal today. Btw, I am a foreigner living in Japan. It wasn't painful at all. It sounded painful coZ of the equipment chopping your tooth off etc but aside from that, no pain. My upper lip was numb for 3 to 4 hours after because of the anesthesia. But right now, 7 hours after the procedure, I'm feeling a little discomfort/pain but not enough for me to take a pain reliever.

I'm not given a pain medication after that. It was only after the 1st one, besides the wasn't like before. It was my 3rd visit last Thursday. I felt a little tooth sensitivity but it only lasted a day, same with my 2nd.
Guys let me tell you my story So in the beginning i needed to get 2 root canals for my teeth so i went to the doctor and the doctor numbed me and extracted the dead nerve the process was not painful at all because u are numbed but then in the 2nd appointment she told me that i don't need to get anesthesia because the nerve is already dead so she begin to clean the tooth and believe me when i tell you that the pain was unbearable especially with the little needles, i told her that there is pain and she told me it's part of the process but it was very painful that when i needed another one 2 years later i was very afraid and i didn't want to go to the doctor because i remembered the pain of the first one and i couldn't go through this again but when my tooth really stars hurting i had to go so i booked an appointment with another doctor and when he began the work he numbed me at first in several different locations and then started and i felt no pain just like the first one but i was afraid of the 2nd appointment and when that came i told him to numb me bc my last one was very painful and the doctor said that of course i need to be numbed so he did and i felt no pain what so ever believe me guys it was amazing and my tooth is not hurting anymore. So if u guys are going to do this pls tell your doctor to numb you very well it's just the first pinch of the needle and then you will feel nothing and it's much better than feeling these little needles peircing your brain.
Im currently had 2 RCT visits, 1st one theu drill, clean and ask me to get xray, 2nd one they remove nerves+blood vessels, disinfect and give temporary filler.next one is hopefully the last when they will fill the pulp+fill permanently. This procedure hurts so much as my teeth was previously broken & got deep cavity afterwards.
Hey I know i’m a year late but I just want to ask a question. I just got my RCT today, but now my tooth is in so much pain. To the point where I can’t even sleep. They’re going to give me a permanent filler next week. But I just want to know, does the pain go away?
I had this done yesterday. The process wasn't painful I didn't even feel anything but o keeping my mouth open for an hour was tiring. But now hurts so badd. Painkiller decreased 50% of the pain but it still hurts. I hate it.
@@flee2573 update is bad. My dentist was a (kind of) fraud and he missed a step I think on purpose so we'll have to go back to him. so I have to go to another dentist. Also the previous filling came out only after 3 months. Tooth doesn't hurt tho. Eating with filling is easy too you just need to get used to it
In short, Not really, it depends on the dentist In long: They give you a local anaesthesia or something so if it works perfectly, you won't feel anything. It also depends on the dentist you go to. I was so scared at first but it didn't hurt. Today is the last time I have to go there to give the crown imprint, I guess. Tips: > Don't be nervous. If you're nervous, you are gonna think that it hurts even if it doesn't. > Find a nice dentist. My mom once went to a bad dentist and it hurted her so much that she was scared to take me to the dentist. Also, you may wanna refer to the reviews online. > Play a song or a movie in your mind, or whatever keeps you distracted. > If it hurts, try to ask them if they can give you an injection to numb it (they will do it by themselves, but sometimes you need to ask them to do it) > Brush you teeth before going. > You might wanna take a handkerchief or a tissue with you. Also, the injection looks scary but it doesn't hurt, it might be a bit uncomfortable and you might feel it going on there, but it doesn't hurt
To all of those who think this might be painless.. it actually depends how the anesthesia has been given. Mine began to wear out in between surgery, so felt mild pain then. But overall a good procedure done. On pain levels I would say it is 4/ 10.
Just finished my first ever root canal and it was easy peasey!!! I was more nervous about the procedure than anything. I am truly surprised on how painless it really was!! They shot me up and I didn't feel a thing. Anyone on the fence or nervous about this procedure shouldn't worry!!!!
Had mine this morning only semi painful part was the numbing the procedure itself felt no pain at all Hearing it all going on makes it scary so I recommend listening to calming music . So glad they got the infection out !!!

So I've done this procedure today with no anesthesia or any type of pain killers and i can very easily say that this was for sure the most painful thing i have ever experienced in my life. BTW i bench press 120 kg ... just saying.
I had mine 2 weeks ago! I FELT NOTHING. NOT EVEN THE 2 INJECTIONS. It only hurts when your mouth is open for the time period, overall it didn't even hurt after the procedure.
@Rabia khan At my dentist they wanted $844 however, my insurance approved it and helped me out. You can also pay little by little if you can't pay all of it up front. That's what I was gonna do.
I had the procedure entirely different. Got lobes of nerve type silicon's melted underneath the core roots. Had a total of 7 drillings and some of them had drilled too much to the point of experiencing sudden pain.
I DON'T GET IT why many people say it is not painful. Mine was very painful when the needle or whatever hit the nerve, it felt like being electrocuted. Maybe my experience was an exception I have no idea.

I have it done yesterday without anesthesia, I didn't feel pain during the procedure. But now I feel throbbing pain and gum discomfort, my dentist prescribed me antibiotics, hope the pain will gone soon.

Im just about finishing mine. Its not that bad. Some discomfort, but not too bad.😊 The best description i can make is like having straightened paperclips pushed into your gums. The after effect is alot more painful, but you get over it after awhile. But the bill really is the most painful part.
The worst part was the dentist pushing something down in there which he then gave me another short and I was fine. Wasn't that bad, otherwise. But yeah, I'm gonna have to take out a loan for the two I am gonna need plus a filling. Preventative maintenance vs repair.
I just did the filling and the procedure doesn't hurt at all, but the anestesia is starting to wear off and its starting to hurt I just took a painkiller, hope it works

I have just done my first RCT ever. Please feel free to ask any questions. I can definitely assure you that you will not feel any pain what so ever during the treatment. The side doing the work on was numb and I was enjoying the music for approximately 40 min and everything was done. Go for it and don’t be afraid guys.

i'm scared of pain, and was really nervous about this treatment. I had it done earlier today and it did not hurt at all during the proedure. I recommend bringing ur airpods to cancel out the sound of the drill but other than that it went good.

Got mine done yesterday. Honestly, getting a cavity filled was worse for me. The root canal was completely painless and the healing process is MUCH easier than getting a cavity filled. I was so nervous for nothing! The most painful part was holding my mouth open for so long and the injections.

My treatment was completely painless. Maybe I just had some good specialist but I just took some ibuprofen for about 4 days and I was back to normal. For those who haven't gotten it yet, I can tell you it definitely isn't all that bad if it's done right.

To all who are here cause they freaking out due to the root canal. I just got one done today and the worse part was just the numbing portion. Besides that it’s not where as bad as you think. But definitely get your prescription when u leave the recovery is alittle sore.

I'm gonna tell you about the whole journey I've experienced.
1st appointment: I was sacred af..I thought I'm gonna die here.. Moreover I was living a miserable life for the infection. So if my tooth had even a simple touch i would die. But fortunately the dentist made me numb at first. For making me numb, he injected a liquid to my mouth. Then started the cleaning process. It was exactly like this video..The process was PAINLESS. You won't feel a single thing after being numb. So don't fear at all..You will only feel pain when the dentist injects you. But it is not that much painful, in some cases u will just feel like having a pinch. And absolutely it is better than having the pain what that tooth gave you back then.. after that day I finally lived the best time after so long.. That pain of the infection was killing me..I got peace finally.
2nd appointment : Today i got the second appointment. It is also the cleaning process..Today, the dentist brought out some rotten nerves from my teeth..that was scary..and yes today she didn't make me numb.. because today i really didn't need to be numb..The process was painless at all.

SO wroth it! My toothache was stopping me from living my life entirely! The procedure was so quick and (mostly) painless! The only pain was from the very first anesthesic injection, from then on, absolutely nothing. Plus now I'll never feel pain again!

@@spunkybanda4782 They dont drill into the gum. You will get an injection and after that you wont feel a thing. I actually enjoyed the procedure since it felt kinda good knowing that your tooth is going to be fixed.

Had one done a couple of weeks ago.. and let me just say YOUR SCARED FOR NOTHING. It doesn’t hurt and the one your get the first pinch from the injections you will be fine. I would suggest taking some ear buds or headphones so u don’t have to listen to all their tools. HOPE THIS HELPS🙌🏽🌟

I had 4 root canals and only one was painful but only at the second appointment of that tooth, the first surgery to relief me from pain never hurt. The dentist needs to numb professional if not you feel it the first time of the procedure. So my second appointment after pain relief was without numbing, he wanted that to see if the teeth is still active. Yeah it is. But he stopped immediately when I said the pain gets to strong. So now I’m waiting for the third time checking it. Did you mean that with painful? Or did you feel pain the first time when you got numbed and went there with a bad tooth? Cause I never had any pain when I went in pain to the dentist and he numbed me. Only the infection is F ing me up, it’s not painful but I can feel it inside there. The tooth is still active. 9 days. I’m waiting for my next appointment. Hopefully the tooth is dead and clean from infection in other words painless 😜

Guys, just had a root canal treatment. The local anesthesia doesn't hurt, the treatment doesn't hurt, the only thing is after the intervention you still feel the area numb. It's been an hour for me and I feel strange not feeling part of my mouth, but still no pain, just strange feeling after. Don't be scare and fix your tooth before you get an extraction and this one will hurt.
If your getting a root canal dont be nervous, im 13 years old and a baby about pain and all you feel during the surgery is pressure and no pain

Almost isn’t good enough. Brush twice, 2 minutes per session. Get a good brush if it’s frayed throw it out. Floss every night. And make sure you watch videos on how to properly do all of these. And if you are higb risk use a mouthwash with flouride. Genes have influence, but our diets and habits are the biggest reasons for cavities and tooth decay.
I had the root canal treatment and honestly I had no pain whatsoever. I only had pain for 1 day after the treatment but that’s it. I feel Good now!
Guys if your about to go get a root canal done just remember, I got 2 done at the same time today. The only part that is uncomfortable is the drilling. It doesn’t even hurt. There’s just a bunch of pulling and pressure.

Finally got it done today after suffering for so many years. My dentist asked me to get it done years ago but I kept pushing it because of my dentophobia. I'll just share my experience here with y'all.
First appointment: It was hectic tbh. My dentist cleaned my infected tooth and let me tell you it was extremely painful. Even after taking painkillers n all that, I was crying in pain. Idk how long that pain lasted as I fell asleep while crying lol.
Second appointment: It wasn't painful at all. My dentist just used a tool (idk what its called) to trim my tooth...? Again idk what he did but it wasn't painful at all.
Third appointment: He used those paperclip like thingy to pull out the rotten nerves, it wasn't that painful since he numbed that area. However I could still feel some of the pocks. But after that i didn't have to take painkiller or anything!
Fourth appointment: It was kinda similar to the third appointment. The tooth also got crowned which is technically the last step of these entire process.
The entire time my anxiety was killing me but yeah, I ended up doing it anyway. If you guys need to do it, i will suggest to go for it. I know with anxiety and the fear of needles, it's going to be a tough decision for you guys, but you gotta do everything for your wellbeing. Good luck!
Im just did my 1st day rct today. For my molar tooth. I dont know wether the procedure failed or not, but today my doc said that the infection in my tooth quite serious as she seemed cannot clean up the tooth canal properly bcause the tooth keep bleeding. She ended up gave me antibiotics n painkillers to cope the infection 1st and hope it can cure the bleeding and continue the procedure nex week. (2nd appointment) Im still in pain right now but thankfully the pain decreasing. The whole process just now quite hectic and painful for me especially when she was using the needle type kind of thing to clear the canal. Hope my tooth can be saved. So worry that the outcome is end up fail. 😢

My front teeth root canal:
1st appointment: The dentist took out the nerve and cleaned the root. Got a white spot in my gum. No pain during the procedure and after. I was under anesthesia.
2st appointment: He cleaned the root again and filled it with some material. Still had the white spot from the cleaning products. No anesthesia, had a little bit of pain but it didn't last long. No pain after the procedure.
3rd appointment: I have made an infection above my teeth (the white spot got more whiter and the gum went to a darker color beside the white spot)..The dentist cut a part of my gum to see if it will regenerate..I hope it does..He started without anesthesia, I felt pain so he anesthesied me. No pain during the procedure (while being under anesthesia).
4th appointment: The infection got better and the dentist filled the tooth canal. No anesthesia and no pain.
5th appointment: My tooth hurts bad when I bite or chew. He opened the tooth canal again and he also applied medicine on my gum which it started to regenerate a little.
Paintment update: I didn't paid at all yet. The dentist told me that I'll pay after the tooth is completly done and that it will cost 20,51€.

Just got my root canal done, I still have to do the crown next week, but the worst part was the numbing shots in the beginning but they do it fast. I have to say though the pressure they put on your teeth and mouth during the whole thing is a little scary, I thought my teeth was going to fall out lol but I knew that wasn’t going to happen and luckily they let me listen to music with earphones so I tried to zone out that pressure with the music. I had my first session 1 day ago and tomorrow is my second session. It IS scary but it doesnt hurt at all. The only time i got hurt was because of the anesthesia and i felt the needle piercing my gums and that hurt a lot later when the anesthesia wore off. The teeth has this weird itch and a throbbing sensation but no pain. Wish me luck for my second session 💕

The area around your tooth is probably still tender from all the drilling done just wait a few days and it probably shouldnt hurt anymore but if it still does book a other appointment and tell them what's going on
Don't be scared of getting a root canal. It looks really scary but isn't, with anesthesia you practically feel very little pain or none, the most painfull part is actually when they drill inside the tooth to remove the infection. Other than that everything else is pretty much painless.

I've had root canal on about 6-7 on my teeth and I'm only 20. I brush my teeth twice a day didn't miss a day so far & I floss, I don't drink acidy things etc. My genes are really bad.... But yeah what I wanna say is: this operation really really doesn't hurt at all once your mouth is numbed, my teeth normally get numb in 1 injection but last time it took 2 injections, I just told my dentist that I feel slight pain and he did the 2nd injection, you literally only feel pressure. Tomorrow I'm going again cause I have a fever & literally shaking & crying from ache, and I cant even touch my gum near the tooth, so I'll just tell him to put a numbing gel on my gums first, u can do that too if ur gums are sensitive, pls don't be scared it's like 1 out of 10 pain wise, and thats because its uncomfortable to have your mouth open, I literally almost fall asleep everytime lol

I had anesthesia, the doctor gave me a ton of it, but you know what? THE PAIN DURING THE PROCEDURE WAS EXCRUCIATING! Even though the area felt numb but the pain was crazy when the doctor was working on the tooth itself

i experienced the same thing and all they told me at the time was that they couldn’t do anything about it lol
My dentist told me today that I have to go through this process. When I first heard it I thought "wtf is that?" Then he explained they gonna go deep and remove my nerves etc and it made me so scared. I just got home and immediately did research, and the fact that this is really common and that millions of people also did research made me feel better in a way😂

And for the next 40minutes he operared on my tooth and I really couldn't feel any pain, just when the nerve was removed I felt little sensitivity but that was okay.☺️ Overall its a wonderful experience.
Had one today. I was extremely worried before the procedure. I’d experienced the removal of one of my teeth before but I thought this procedure would be worse and hurt more. Turns out it was completely painless and I enjoyed listening to music the entire time. When my doctor injected the local anaesthetic, he communicated with me in a way so it took a few seconds for me to notice my injection. It was a bit uncomfortable holding my mouth open for so long though.
To all those who did or are gonna do root canal, do take care of your teeth after the treatment....my gums get swollen due to toothaches for some days after every few months...the pain started after 3-4 years after my root canal treatment....u can't even chew ur food due to this pain...😖

Parul Vats - I'm 12, had my root canal done over a week ago. It was a very fascinating experience, I must say. First, they inject local anesthesia into your gums, to make it painless. Second, they clean the tooth with a drill or something like that, you'll only feel pressure though, I was calm throughout the whole procedure. My mom offered me a relaxation pill, but I declined and decided that I'd toughen up rather than be a wimp lol. They'll use an x-ray to see what's left to fill, they'll probably do this around 3-4 times. Third, they'll begin filling the tooth with some type of material, this could take around an hour or so. The whole procedure is 2 hours and 30 minutes, I was a little impatient but I was very excited to see the result, it turned out extremely well! You'll feel numb in your mouth, but you can still talk. I recommend taking a painkiller 30-60 minutes after the procedure. Mine didn't hurt at all after that, felt absolutely nothing. Anyways, I wish you the best if you're planning to have the procedure, it isn't bad at all!

Just had my first session on my abscessed tooth and it wasn't painful at all. I'm relieved thanks to my dentist and looking forward for my second session with courage. The only tiny pain I had was when they injected the LA. Even half of my lips and tongue along with the entire jaw became numb and it felt like touching a different material. For patient with abscessed tooth I suggest to take an appointment after the swelling (if it doesn't decrease by time pls visit the dent' asap)as I experienced a little pain after the RCT. Otherwise it was painless and relieving.

@@jannatjunaid7 the numbness only lasted for 4 hrs in my case. Everything felt normal for me but I suggest you to eat away from your treated tooth as it's in the healing phase. I didn't have any side effects but it can differ from person to person.

Don't get a root canal, it worsens sensitivity and the exposed nerve during the procedure produces so much pain
For all of you guys freaking out. I’m a dental assistant. The worst part is just getting numbed and it just leaves your gum and cheeks a little sore. Also you have to keep you mouth open for a bit. That’s all really 🤷🏻♀️

okay so uh what happened was that the only part that hurted was the injecting anesthesia part (but i've done that part before multiple times) but the other stuff didn't hurt me like obv.
i was supposed to get a root canal on another tooth too, but they couldn't save it and they ended up taking the whole tooth.

When you do a root canal treatment the tooth is very prone to fracture, I as dentist first do filling if there is a chance if not then I continue with the crown treatment. Take care of your teeth, your health is your life...

Guys I just had it done few minutes ago trust me first they do one spray for little anesthesia then they do the needle so it doesnt hurt I was so scared I was going to cry but I was relaxed when the needle went inside then they do the stuff and all it didint hurt but there's one machine which is kinda vibrative it hurted me its the part I got hurt but don't worry ITS BEARABLE FIRST OF ALL THE DENTIST WAS SO SWEET HE KEEPS DISTRACTING YOU. ❤
I had my root canal today. Btw, I am a foreigner living in Japan. It wasn't painful at all. It sounded painful coZ of the equipment chopping your tooth off etc but aside from that, no pain. My upper lip was numb for 3 to 4 hours after because of the anesthesia. But right now, 7 hours after the procedure, I'm feeling a little discomfort/pain but not enough for me to take a pain reliever.

I'm not given a pain medication after that. It was only after the 1st one, besides the wasn't like before.
It was my 3rd visit last Thursday. I felt a little tooth sensitivity but it only lasted a day, same with my 2nd.

Guys let me tell you my story
So in the beginning i needed to get 2 root canals for my teeth so i went to the doctor and the doctor numbed me and extracted the dead nerve the process was not painful at all because u are numbed but then in the 2nd appointment she told me that i don't need to get anesthesia because the nerve is already dead so she begin to clean the tooth and believe me when i tell you that the pain was unbearable especially with the little needles, i told her that there is pain and she told me it's part of the process but it was very painful that when i needed another one 2 years later i was very afraid and i didn't want to go to the doctor because i remembered the pain of the first one and i couldn't go through this again but when my tooth really stars hurting i had to go so i booked an appointment with another doctor and when he began the work he numbed me at first in several different locations and then started and i felt no pain just like the first one but i was afraid of the 2nd appointment and when that came i told him to numb me bc my last one was very painful and the doctor said that of course i need to be numbed so he did and i felt no pain what so ever believe me guys it was amazing and my tooth is not hurting anymore. So if u guys are going to do this pls tell your doctor to numb you very well it's just the first pinch of the needle and then you will feel nothing and it's much better than feeling these little needles peircing your brain.
Im currently had 2 RCT visits, 1st one theu drill, clean and ask me to get xray, 2nd one they remove nerves+blood vessels, disinfect and give temporary filler.next one is hopefully the last when they will fill the pulp+fill permanently. This procedure hurts so much as my teeth was previously broken & got deep cavity afterwards.

I had this done yesterday. The process wasn't painful I didn't even feel anything but o keeping my mouth open for an hour was tiring. But now hurts so badd. Painkiller decreased 50% of the pain but it still hurts. I hate it.

@@flee2573 update is bad. My dentist was a (kind of) fraud and he missed a step I think on purpose so we'll have to go back to him. so I have to go to another dentist. Also the previous filling came out only after 3 months. Tooth doesn't hurt tho. Eating with filling is easy too you just need to get used to it

In long:
They give you a local anaesthesia or something so if it works perfectly, you won't feel anything. It also depends on the dentist you go to.
I was so scared at first but it didn't hurt. Today is the last time I have to go there to give the crown imprint, I guess.
Tips:
> Don't be nervous. If you're nervous, you are gonna think that it hurts even if it doesn't.
> Find a nice dentist. My mom once went to a bad dentist and it hurted her so much that she was scared to take me to the dentist. Also, you may wanna refer to the reviews online.
> Play a song or a movie in your mind, or whatever keeps you distracted.
> If it hurts, try to ask them if they can give you an injection to numb it (they will do it by themselves, but sometimes you need to ask them to do it)
> Brush you teeth before going.
> You might wanna take a handkerchief or a tissue with you.
Also, the injection looks scary but it doesn't hurt, it might be a bit uncomfortable and you might feel it going on there, but it doesn't hurt

To all of those who think this might be painless.. it actually depends how the anesthesia has been given. Mine began to wear out in between surgery, so felt mild pain then. But overall a good procedure done. On pain levels I would say it is 4/ 10.

Just finished my first ever root canal and it was easy peasey!!! I was more nervous about the procedure than anything. I am truly surprised on how painless it really was!! They shot me up and I didn't feel a thing. Anyone on the fence or nervous about this procedure shouldn't worry!!!!

I had this done today and it wasn’t that bad you won’t feel a thing the only part that I felt pain was when they gave the anesthesia but besides that it went fine but after it was done I started to feel pain I still have pain right now which sucks!!

I had mine 2 weeks ago! I FELT NOTHING. NOT EVEN THE 2 INJECTIONS. It only hurts when your mouth is open for the time period, overall it didn't even hurt after the procedure.

I had the procedure entirely different. Got lobes of nerve type silicon's melted underneath the core roots. Had a total of 7 drillings and some of them had drilled too much to the point of experiencing sudden pain.
I watch this every once in a while to remeber why i need to brush and floss good
I DON'T GET IT why many people say it is not painful. Mine was very painful when the needle or whatever hit the nerve, it felt like being electrocuted. Maybe my experience was an exception I have no idea.

I have it done yesterday without anesthesia, I didn't feel pain during the procedure. But now I feel throbbing pain and gum discomfort, my dentist prescribed me antibiotics, hope the pain will gone soon.

The best description i can make is like having straightened paperclips pushed into your gums.
The after effect is alot more painful, but you get over it after awhile.
But the bill really is the most painful part.
The worst part was the dentist pushing something down in there which he then gave me another short and I was fine. Wasn't that bad, otherwise. But yeah, I'm gonna have to take out a loan for the two I am gonna need plus a filling. Preventative maintenance vs repair.

I have just done my first RCT ever. Please feel free to ask any questions. I can definitely assure you that you will not feel any pain what so ever during the treatment. The side doing the work on was numb and I was enjoying the music for approximately 40 min and everything was done. Go for it and don’t be afraid guys.

i'm scared of pain, and was really nervous about this treatment. I had it done earlier today and it did not hurt at all during the proedure. I recommend bringing ur airpods to cancel out the sound of the drill but other than that it went good.
