This is the exact setup I'm trying to get next year. I want to have the 500cm with the 50mp back and then my Leica Monochrom in my bag. Done. Dream setup.
How cool this is! You robber a bank, left the vault door open and make a video how to get money to buy a Hasselblad system! :-) Absolute love my Hasselblad too, unbelievable quality and pleasure to use!
You can make the same video every week and I will watch it. I love the Hasselblad system and you capture it so well. Loving the CFV 50c, i have had it for....2 years? It's insane.
@SamMcGhee I feel weird doing videos of myself too, especially when people are watching me! I should remake my CFV video, since the quality isn't very nice. Dragging my feet since I highlighted everything I wanted to, but I might do a quick overview type thing. I use my setup primarily for product photography, but also just going out and about for personal enjoyment. The hasselblad is my forever camera, I like the security of knowing I can use it if film ever goes away one day.
can i ask you a few things.Ive been also quite fascinated with this setup. so, do you hold it sideways to do a vertical shot? how is the experience of that? i wonder if adding a viewfinder and a grip - will make it more do-able.
The plane of focus of the Hasselblad C/CM is not at the same plane of focus as the digital backs of later years. To get critical focus the focusing screen had to be shimmed to the correct amount after some test shots, or taht is the ebst that I can remember from twenty or so years ago. I honestly think that if you wanted to shoot digital, then just use a digital camera. The sensor sizes are also much smaller than 6X6 so there is a crop factor to consider.
It is so funny when you say ''so simple'' lol. We can use every day different brands of film lenses with the Fujifilm GFX system just with a simple adapter because it has a mechanical shutter ;) No pain with old film body
Hasselblad did too little and too late to keep alive the V system introducing the H system. Still I feel that they are patching the V Hasselblads. First of all you loose all the lenses angle of views. Wide angles are not anymore. Phase One manufactured a few digital backs covering more area, but still not full frame. At the same time old lenses can’t resolve a 100 MP chip. What is the point of having such a large files lacking the resolution of the new lenses? Now Hasselblad has discontinued the H system, topical oriental business. Víctor Hasselblad must be revolting in his grave!

Leica Monochrome. 🤤 tell me more about this dream.

😂 the lore is growing.
Heaven would be a full 6x6 sensor!
Yeah I think that would make so much sense these days where clients want deliverables in every aspect ratio you can imagine…
It’s all about client deliverables isn’t it? I agree 6x6 would be badass.

It feels so goofy to make videos of myself.
What do you use your 50c for?

@@SamMcGhee Figured I should tell you...I sold my 907x 50c after three years of constant use.

Does it focus ok now?
The 645 crop is the only down side of the CFV. Hasselblad's are not designed to be flipped onto their side for a vertical shot with 645 crop.
Its a bummer. True. Buts it’s still a good vibe.
Any issues with focus not being sharp? I remember you made an old video saying that focus comes out soft

It’s definitely an issue with my 501 film body.

Fuji is making dope stuff. All the new cameras are so rad.
@@SamMcGhee I want to see a 6*7 digital camera with maybe manual focus!
@@GKhanKutarI want to play with the discontinued H6D. It’s a bigger sensor.
Yep you can hella diy that With av junk
Gear nerd in me wonders why they never bothered putting the 54x40 sensor into a V-back.
