This is a very nice flying machine. I would get one in a heartbeat. However, the problem with Gyros in the US is training and insurance. If you can get insurance as a low-time pilot, you will pay a fortune for it, an absolute fortune. It is so expensive that Gyros are almost unaffordable if you want hull insurance. In addition, depending on where you live, getting good training or training at all will be tough.
It is done to avoid flapping while transitioning through the low rotor rpm when there's wind (the flapping can be felt by the stick jerking in your hand). Relative wind direction between 10 clockwise through 4 o clock stick forward and right, 4 clockwise through 10 o clock stick forward and left. This is done during pre-rotation and after landing on spool down below 120 rotor rpm. It is taught in the Gyropedia by Phil Harwood.
Gyros have come a long way in the last few years. Nice machine.
Great to see you back making videos!
Thank you. Hopefully many more to come!
Rob, even with you and me in the cockpit we were still doing like 1206 on the climb out.
That 915 aint no slouch :)
True true! They really perform great even fully loaded. Maybe in a couple years that 916 will become mainstream and get us even more climb!!
Great to see you back flying the Cavalon.

Cavalon dealers on the East coast?
We're in NY, Florida and we have dealers in Maryland.
Anyone knows the location of this video?
That's the Bay Bridge Airport in Stevensville, Maryland. The FAA Location ID is "W29."

Cavalon looks too good. But don't know why most of the crashes seen of theses only?😢😢😢
Not complaining because I appreciate the video, but 360p a little hard to watch on large screen.
Check back later, it just uploaded so higher resolution will be available art some point!
I'm enjoying it at 2160p (4k) right now.
@@seikibrian8641 Yes, looks much better now.
