I saw Loudon Wainwright sing this live in 1972 in the student union Cardiff. He was a young man then but sang it with great sincerity and intensity. Jack has managed to recreate this son well and I'm sure Loudon would approve. I hope he will cover more of Loudons earlier work
I like this version because Jack makes the song softer and less intense. It's sweet and makes me think of good times. Love Wainwright's version, though.
