Low stakes poker rooms in Vegas have all but dried up now, my first trip back in 2007 almost every strip hotel had a room now we only have Mandalay Bay and Sahara with low stakes tournaments. Most rooms now catering towards mid and big stakes. Where are the entry points for recreationals unless they are fairly well off and can afford to gamble a few hundred dollars for a buy in?
For context back in 2013 I was in Vegas for a week I played and (won) the $45 entry at Luxor there were 100 or so runners, I also won at Monte Carlo where field was around 70-80 runners did the same at Mandalay Bay where I think there only two tables for their $60 entry. I played a few more MTTs in MGM, Luxor and Planet Hollywood which I didn't cash but the fields were full of tourists who would never play the WSOP or high buyins. Now when I come to Vegas I play WSOP, Aria, Caesers and Resorts World. There are far less new players and tourists in the games. There are a lot of middle aged/older Americans who have played for years and have the Dan Harrington old school approach. Very few younger people, is this down to the low stakes entry points disappearing or the death of online poker in USA?
In this episode Brian exposes his meat smoking mindset everyone was already aware of! Did Matt declare his intent to attend Culinary Institute of America after he retires from poker?!
Nothing will bring me more joy than watching the Squeelers lose 9 games this year, miss the playoffs and stay lost in the wilderness without a single quarterback. GO RAVENS. 😘❤
STEELERS will go very deep this year ! It's will be cuz of Russ. Russ is also the perfect guy to train Fields. This team will do way better than people expect. Steelers will allow Russ to be Russ and watch what happens. When it happens, you have to give due credit where it's due Berk. Ravens or Steelers will win this year ! Or at least make the dance.
Tune in for the worst culinary views of all time! You all talk about food with such confidence while being so wrong! It makes me question everything else yall say. You guys would like Gordon Ramsay...he gives off that Marjorie Taylor Greene type vibe!
Liked the discussion regarding rake and low stakes MTTs. Lots to consider.
Baltimore here watching. My feelings are hurt how you feel about my Ravens Matt. 😂😂
Berkey likes to talk about the live pokerscene, and i like listening to him talking about it. Excellent segment of the rake environment/structures.
Jeff platt is a genius

The house does not make anywhere near $400/hr in rake in $5/10 no limit. Closer to $120 and hour in time games
@Bitty20 was going with the extreme case which is a private table. Even using $10/half time it's $180, which is more than the winners avg.
Gotcha that makes sense.

Can’t win at poker anymore?
