I can listen to this over and over goosebumps galore what a legen Bob shepard. When yanks were in post season and was Sunday they would fly him helicopter from giants stadium to Yankee stadium
Bob Sheppard will be missed. He WAS the voice of the Giants and Yankees. He always will be. Thank you Bob for the many years of wonderful memories. RIP. George Vreeland Hill
This is the earliest football I remember - being born in 1980. I got a Parcells/Belichik Giants who coached Lawrence Taylor and all those guys, being introduced by Bob Sheppard and hearing the play by play of Madden and Summeral!! How can you not fall in love with the sport for LIFE??!!
I'm a lifelong Detroit resident and diehard Lions and Tigers fan but I got goosebumps watching this video. I used to love watching games from Yankee stadium just to hear him say stuff like, Now batting the shortstop #2 Derick Jeter #2. A true legend!
Simms to Bavaro ...touchdown New York. Theisman on the pass attempt ...sacked by Taylor Now batting for the Yankees, the 1st baseman, Number 23, Don Mattingly, number 23 That crisp, clear booming voice w/the perfect enunciation transformed Yankee & Giant stadiums into cathedrals of athletic competition and will forever echo in the recesses of my fondest memories. RIP Shep. No one did it better.
Spine chills. Tears. The SF game the week before... this game... and what was to happen in two weeks time in Pasadena put to rest a decades-long legacy of hard times for the Giants faithful. These incredibly loyal fans got a well deserved reward. Thanks for posting this and honoring the memory of the great Bob Sheppard.
I mean Jesus Christ were these players motivated coming out of that tunnel! The real eye of the Tiger!! Had Parcells and Belichik motivation in the locker room and coming out to Bob Sheppard introducing you in front of an absolutely RAUCOUS Giant Stadium! Giants Stadium in the 80’s and early 90’s was riight up there with Kansas City and Buffalo for loudest/craziest fans! Remember these fans were STARVED for good Giants football after watching them get crushed by the Cowboys, Steelers, and Dolphins for all those years in the 70’s and early 80’s.
wow thank you for sharing, my dad was there and when he watched this it brought tears to his eyes. Bob sheppard was great i'll never forget his voice as i listened to him at giants games from 1997 to 2006. R.I.P Bob.
Thanks for posting this. Watched it like 5 times already. Long before I heard now batting for the Yankees I heard him at Giants games as a kid and this video brings back those awesome memories from 86 & 87
I keep waiting for him to repeat the uniform number after the name, like he did with the baseball players. 1st baseman, numbah twenty-three, Don ... Mattingly. Numbah twenty-three.
I remember Bob, the great voice of my childhood.
I remember his voice at my first Yankee game in 1984

THE voice of the Giants.
FOREVER!
Greatest voice in sports they use to fly him helicopter from Yankee stadium to Giants stadium if Yankees had a ppst season game on Sunday
The greatest PA announcer in sports ever, and this is coming from a Cardinals fan.
Red Sox fan and I agree
The guy lived to 99

Amazing video
Bad day for my Redskins, but man is it a treat to hear Bob Sheppard. What a great voice.
Best PA announcer in the best place to watch football - not like MetLife dump.
@jmpowers83 He meant exactly what he said. Giants AND Yankees. Get your history right.
don't you mean legendary Yankee Stadium PA announcer?
Wtf was McConkey smoking before the game lmao
I keep waiting for him to repeat the uniform number after the name, like he did with the baseball players.
