I like Hollywood Cemetery a lot - very cool…especially this time of the year. I gotta say, the Halloween decorations in the Museum District are just next level! Way cool! Thanks for sharing.
Vlogtober Day 28 What a fun day ! Lauren, We have been to Hollywood Cemetery and have never heard the stories of the people buried in the cementery as well narrated as you did. We need to take a tour with you. The homes decorated so beautifully for the season. WoW! The Harry Potter Exhibit was stunning. We got to get over there this week. Have to say this was our favorite blog for the month. It's right up there.👍👍 Sending you much love💚💚 from Jim and Harriet. P.S. We understand your touring Alexandria . Our niece owns a home there. Check out old town . Great shops and restaurants that are very vegan friendly. Have Fun !
@@costasworldofmusicmemories5792 yes! I have mostly learned the info from books about these people - haven’t found a place where it’s all listed yet. Can’t wait to learn more! I loved this day too! So much!😍
I am so sad that Vlogtober is ending!!! I have loved watching your videos every single day! I am hoping you consider doing Vlogmas. You have spoiled us with Vlogtober!❤
I have visited Hollywood cemetery a few times over the years. My great, great grandparents are buried there with a few other relatives. It really doesn’t seem like a cemetery. It’s beautiful, serene, and peaceful. There is so much history there told through the gravesites. I will probably pay a visit to my ancestors on Thursday. The day that the veil is thin. ❤
I just found your channel, I feel connected because even though I live an hour and a half from Richmond, my daughter lives in Richmond. I will definitely be visiting Ruby Scoops!
Great Halloween Episode! We loved it so much! We have actually been loving all of Vlogtober! We watched while eating our dinner tonight and although it was really good, we were definitely eyeing your Chinese haul! YUM! And the ice cream, of course- it's been YEARS since I've had Butter Pecan- so good! Thanks for all your great RVA content!!!
@@kimberlylinham yay! So glad you all have been enjoying it!! Omg the butter pecan is great, you have to go try it! Of course. Can’t wait to share more!
That reminds me of Lakeview Cemetery in CLE. That is also a garden cemetery that was built in 1869. President Garfield and John D. Rockfeller are buried there. The headstones and mausoleum designs are very similar.
@@TonyThomas10000 I agree! I’ve been to Lakeview and now that you’ve said that I remember! Rockefeller’s Obelisk! And wow they went all out for Garfield’s!!
Jackson's way warmer to the camera than a previous vlog when yall were on the river! The spooky chromatic-sounding music is a nice touch, and what is it with ghosts in windows!?
Long time Richmond resident (3 score and 4) and Hollywood Cemetery lover. My Dad would take me there when I was young. I've always had a morbid fascination with old cemeteries because of that. I was disappointed that you didn't include the Newfoundland statue in your video though. Thanks also for the Halloween decorations tour. I usually do not get an opportunity to go out to see those.
Love your videos, btw. I have made a few comments, but I mostly ghost. 😊Love the hiking videos. My daughter goes to JMU. I’m slowly learning the area each time a visit. Would love to see a video of that area- Harrisonburg and Staunton too. Lots of different things to see/do out there.
@@cyd369 thank you so much! Actually I am headed to a trip to Harrisonburg this weekend & will be making a vlog! Let me know if there’s anything specific you’d like me to cover. 😍
@@LaurenZRayso the interesting thing there is that families that purchase a large section but then go over 50 years without interring somebody in that plot forfeit their rights to the rest of the available spaces. I'm sure they preserve some plots in Presidents Row or other famous families, but that was how we got such a great view. Which sounds weird to say, but when we had my dads funeral last month it was calming to be able to turn around and just relax by looking at the river. Also of note, Hollywood is the only place other than the veterans cemetery that will bury European style, with the second person placed on top of the first to save space.
Okay I need to go for a night walk to see some of these houses. I walk past the Harry Potter house on the daily but I need to check these others out too! Especially the ghost buster house. Okay now you need to do Vlogmas 😉
