    More big games in Cork is exactly what Munster rugby needs! I reckon they should be bringing games to all of the major centres throughout Munster!

      @@paste5004 who wants to travel to Limerick? It's called Munster Rugby not limerick Rugby. If the team behind Munster doesn't cop on, the crowds will continue to drop at Thomand. Besides Pairc Ui Chaoimh and Thomand, there are Soo many more options but those 2in particular have the better stadiums. Have a Heineken game in Pairc Ui Chaoimh and it will sell out and that's 20 thousand more supporter's behind the team. Munster Rugby have fallen behind with regards to actively participating with rugby within it's province. Look at Leinster, they don't revolve around Dublin they tour the province. Munster used to do that but not any more. It's all about limerick and it needs to stop. If limerick supporters don't want to travel then tough. It's not like it's going to be for every home game.

    Loved to see this game in Pairc Ui Caoimh, and the result, But it is not all about Cork and Limerick, Look at the Kerry players over the years. Kiara Griffin, Mick Doyle, Moss Keane, Brendan O Mahony, Mick Galwey, Ultan Dillane, J.J. Hanrahan and Jack Daly. I'm sure I have left out a few. But pairc Ui Caoimh... Great, Croke Park, Possibly Fitzgerald stadium (highly under used. As Tomas says there are many that play, Rugby, GAA and Basketball or Soccer at a decent level at Under 18 at least and perhaps play 2 codes at same time. Just had an evening with Ronan O Gara, Mick Galwey, Kiera Griffin and jack O Connor last weekend in Ballygarry , Estate Hotel in aid or Ballymac GAA and Cork /kerry cancer Bus, (Hosted by Tony Leen of the examiner.) and these things are great, bringing everyone together.

    Great to see this topic being raised. Having the only professional rugby team based outside of the main centre of population in the region is just crazy. Would you expect the majority of Leinster supporters (Dublin) to travel to Drogheda or Athlone to support their team? Would this impact Leinster's gate receipts? Munster rugby in Cork is a poor product. Cork gets the token games that are too small to pull in a crowd in Thomond. No beef with the Limerick supporters - good on them for getting Munster to buy into their City but the biggest games need to be played in Cork. Not the other way around.

      @Colm L in the short term how would it make financial sense.. they have a huge stadium in Limerick which they have invested millions in.

    • @kookvision9295
      @kookvision9295 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@colml9688 where are you pulling 1/2 years from? They have 39 million euro stadium that is not worth a hand full on beans without the franchise. You did not say rotating, you said moving the centre which would no doubt put the club back into massive debt and negative equity.
      For someone talking about financials you are very flippant of actual financials.
      I do think they need more games in cork especially if they can get pairc ni caoimhe.

    Way too much of Munster Rugby revolves around limerick and that's one reason, you are seeing a drop in support at Thomand. Munster was and is so much more than limerick and it's getting old now. Everything is based around limerick. Look at Leinster, they travel the province but you don't see that with Munster anymore.

      I think in the past maybe, but things are different now. I think this game, the U20s six nations, women's games prove otherwise. There is a huge hunger for big games down in Cork.... and it's definitely worth bringing a couple of big profile games down if possible.
