    I've been using a pair of the Parkside 20v Impact Drivers fairly intensively for several years and they haven't skipped a beat. The one minor niggle on one of them is the battery sometimes comes loose with the vibration but a bit of gaffer tape fixes that. The other one is perfect. For £20 (bare unit) it's an unbelievable bargain!
    I have two 20v drill drivers for general work a 12v drill driver in my mobile kit, a 12v corner drill for awkward spots, a 20v hammer drill for light masonry and a corded hammer drill/demolition hammer (can't think of the correct name) for tough bricks & breaking up concrete. All from Parkside.
    With chargers (x2) and batteries (4x 20v 4ah & 2x 12v) + 8 drills of various types I think it cost me approximately £350 spread over a few years. Roughly the price of a single Festool cordless drill kit with charger, battery & case!
    When it comes to bladed tools (table saw, mitre, tracksaw etc...) precision is important & paying for a Bosch, Mikita or more premium brand is worth the investment. For drilling, as long as it has the brunt to make the hole or drive the screw, it's good enough for me & Lidl Parkside have never let me down.
    For anyone unsure, my advice would be save your £££ by investing in Parkside drills/drivers & invest those savings on the tools that really require premium build quality. Keep your receipts & if you do manage to burn out a motor, you have a 3yr warranty with Lidl & they are good at honoring that.

      Hi McMonkeyful...Thanks for that..good advice there. Yes like you say they are good at honoring their 3 year guarantee...I am currently in the process of claiming for a Silvercrest (Lidl's own make) Rotary shaver that went faulty after 2 years 11 months and the claim has gone fine.
      They have posted the replacement from Germany and it should be here tomorrow....my next vids will be a review of it plus the claim procedure and experience.

    I think these little tools of Parkside offer great value and performance. But bigger tools is where the quality starts to go down. I have had a Parkside table saw and had the worst expierence with it. Inaccurate and burned down in 3 weeks cutting pallet wood. But my parkside drill is holding up quite well.. i might consider the impact driver. Thanks for the review

      Thanks for that Gregory...good info worth noting.
      Unfortunately I haven't any room in my tiny garage for any big machine tools like a table saw. Luckily Lidl's guarantee is good if it breaks but that doesn't excuse the fact it was inaccurate though.

      I agree. In my experience, bladed tools require accuracy & it's worth paying more for a premium brand. For driving screws, Parkside is more than adequate.

    Hi Tom - Great review mate !.
    Any news on your long awaited ZS EV or even a MG4 yet ?.
    Tom - Just started to type the above question and you covered it in the closing part of your video.
    Many thanks - Jeff.

      Hi Jeff.Thanks for the thanks.....yes I rang Chorley MG today and they said they hope to have it by 25th Oct...so 1 week.....I will believe it when I see it so fingers crossed.
      I wanted in this order orange,red,blue,white .....they say its a white trophy they are expecting so I said I will take it.
      I ordered the very day after the order book opened and see quite a few from all over the country have got their orange Trophy model so don't know why Chorley didn't get one....I will be very annoyed if I find out they have sold a Trophy to someone lower than me on list as I thought I would be pretty near the top....stay tuned as it will prob be next vid if I do get it next week.

    Do Lidl do the performance lines in the UK. I know in Europe they are all in black. I am always on the look out for performance line tools but never find them.

    • @TomsManShed
      @TomsManShed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pritesh....yes they do them but I have hardly ever seen them....only once or twice ...
      If they'd had the performance line version in I would have got it as it has better performance and a brushless motor and I believe is only £10 more
      From other reviews on TH-cam it is definitely the better but like I say they never seem to be in stock ..,this will do for my use but the performance versions are the ones to go for IF you can get them

      @@TomsManShed Hi Tom thank you. I've seen the performce range on TH-cam and frustrating that we can't pick up any items in England. 😊.
      Sorry just another questions? How is the the 135bar pressure washer holding up. I've had mines for 18 months and doing o.k. I just need to pick up a proper Foam canon. Any suggestions 🤔 . Amazon have a few and need to make sure it's Parside compatable.

      Hi Pritesh...yes it is still working fine....re the foamer...I accidental stepped on mine and broke the neck of the bottle so am now using one from my previous Karcher.
      Not sure on decent one to recommend...I found that the cheap one included seems to work ok for me but if using more often than i do yes a tougher one would be better....you should be able to make most fit with the correct adapter shown in vid.

    I have just got this drill and the chuck/locking sleeve doesnt seem to be working? None of the buts are staying in securely? Im following insurrctions in the manual and pulling the chuck back to engage but nothing is happening

    • @TomsManShed
      @TomsManShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Scott...hard to tell what problem is without seeing it but try spraying a bit of WD40 or the like on the inside and outside of collet it should slide back about 1/3 inch and you should feel a spring when inserting a bit all the way....when you pull the collet back to release the bit it sort of shoots it out with the spring.
      It might of course be faulty but lidl's will readily swap or refund if you have the receipt.

      @@TomsManShed HI ...I bought one yesterday and had the same problem. Found out you pull the collar back insert the bit then push it forward to lock. hope this helps .

    Why didn't you get their performance 20v line!

    • @TomsManShed
      @TomsManShed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because 1) it wasn't in stock...2) yes it is better and has a brushless motor but is also more expensive and I am on a limited budget,.,..and 3) for the amount of times I will use it ( very rarely) this is more than sufficient!

      I rarely see the Performance tools stocked in Lidl UK, which is a shame. Where do you buy them?

    I cracked the 19mm socket first time.

    • @TomsManShed
      @TomsManShed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nex....which socket was that?....it's just that there are sockets specifically for impact drivers as standard ones can indeed crack or shatter if used with an impact tool
