This recording was done between Boca Raton station and West Palm Beach station north bound via I-95. This was do to some work been done on the train tracks that day , so around 6 or 7 shuttle buses were been used between Boca Raton and Mangonia Park stations . Don't let the 8V-71N screaming fool you , top speed on this coach was 70mph.

Which bus models were used for the shuttle service and this beasts sounded like the Palm Trans Flxible with an 8V71N as well. Excellent recording!

Thanks . They were all MC-9's but this was the only unit that had the 8V-71N engine while the rest had 6V-92TA's

The bus sounds really good at idle. Marcos, did the contracts for the Tri-Rail shuttle often exchanged hands every few years? If so, how often did it happen? 70mph ain't bad at all, glad to hear these coaches at speed anyway. What was the fastest coach you ever rode on?

Well I can only recall Grayline later Coach USA between 1992 and the early 2000's then by 2003 it was Quality Coach , by 2005 it was Community Corperatives with their Vanhools C 2045's , by 2010 it was Coach USA againg , some of their coaches said Coach America and last I've notice by 2015 they had RTA Cutaways and recently I've seen pictures of Eldorado BRT's. I have no idea who runs the RTA .Do to my crazy work schedules I barely have a chance to see what's running as Tri-Rail shuttles these days.

      The ones that come to mind were bus 1201 a 1993 102 DL3 from Super Bus 75mph. Palm Tran bus 8110 ex BCT 1981 GRUMMAN Flxible 75mph ,La Cubana bus #2000 a 1999 102 DL3 at 80mph and Super Tours of Orlando #5803 a 1998 Vanhool T2145 at 75mph.

I once rode La Cubana to New York City about twenty years ago. Those DL3s were the most attractive buses I had ever seen, rivaling Lynx's buses at that time period before they started reducing the amount of colors used on their buses.

Why not let it idle/fast idle?
