In regards to your question Dex... I think if you're doing a detailed guide just to "win" level 20 is enough but, if you're doing a fun run for yourself, endless is better. They are 2 different games it feels like so the strategy can change quite substantially with items that cut your scaling for early benefits if you're only planning on a level 20 run. Anyway, whatever you decide works for me, love your content :).
I love that you explain the most things you do. It makes your videos extremly intresting PLUS I can find my own ideas what to combine, especially while playing with my wife.
I had to read this a few times because I was wondering what the wife you referred was that Dex was playing with untill I realized you meant yourself lol. (thought the wife might be some sort of item or weapon)
I think going into endless is only worth if you have a build idea, but it's not quite there yet. Or to limit test how far you can go. As long as you're having fun with the game, and you're happy with the video. We will watch. Endless or not.
I honestly like going endless, since some builds pop off only after wave 20. So I am more than fine with you going endless every time! But I also love that you somehow always know when to stop and cut it. I think you're doing perfect right now :)
Dex.. I love the endless videos, but I would call it once your done playing and not laughing and enjoying it. Once you reach that as you did in this video its good to call it game over. I just love listening to your commentary you have throughout while im playing the game as well or catching some of the luck you get not dying with a miracle dodge
Remember. Pearl have chance to get EXTRA pearls in crates. So insead of a random item, you chave chance for same item + pearl as bonus. Just awesome free damage tbh (as long as you don't have negative luck) Btw. Loving you videos Dex. ^_^
Armor scaling does matter it can actually break the game. Once your money HP nicely outscales your Ghost Scepter HP swap to potato gun for nice damage, then you need to get cursed stone skin. Since armor is typically low on demon runs, if you find an axolotl to switch your HP and armor, it actually doubles your HP
@@EliDontDoIt swapper 700hp for 20 armor, 98% damage reduction! achived 99% reduction on 1k armor, potato guns and just click "next wave" when got bored
@@MikhailKoshelev I did a modded Demon run and ended up with 50,000 HP and 24k armor. The thing said 100% damage reduction but it was probably like 99.98% and just rounding up. I can get that number higher with the new cursed characters mod.
Honestly, the best thing you can give us is your laugh whenever you get something broken, unezpected or a stupidly cursed item, so whenever a run bores you i'd say just stop playing it
@Dex I just wanted to say that bounces half their damage after every bounce. meaning that if your first hit is 100 damage, the next is 50. Because of this, even having 5 bounces means the last shot is only dealing 3 damage. Because of this, I don't take too many ricochets, unless they are cursed, which has a lesser damage penalty.
btw dex they fixed the spyglasses so u can no longer get money from rerolling, also I somehow got a 53% reduced reroll price on one of them and I didn't even know it could go that high
Provided the highest for cursed objects is really at 2.1x the maximum should be 52.5% for the spyglass. In many Situations it rounds up, like with dangerous bunny and black flag being at 3 for materials gained or free rerolls, so i'd guess this is what's going on here.
I think asking your audience if they want endless might be just measuring the trap effect of, "Yes, more = better" where viewers are always going to say they want more, but aren't aware of how much work goes into the videos and don't realize that they could probably have two or even three times as many videos if they didn't go endless.
Would like to see a video where you have an auto clicker to accept all crates maybe and continue to the next round and see how far you get after a good nights rest :P
Now that the game got an insane amount of new items and weapons, a build can be only half done before you reach wave 20. You might not even get six red weapons yet, let alone six cursed ones or any legendaries. So all my runs are now endless by default. That being said, an "endless" run doesn't necessary have to mean "keep going for as long as possible until you can't continue anymore", I just don't stop at wave 20 any longer. My current modus operandi is to keep going until I reach the goal of my build, whatever that is.
I think the best option is to play until like wave 30, because at 20 it usually feels like the build hasn't truly come online yet. By wave 30 we can usually tell if you're outscaling the enemies or not, so it feels like there's a nice ending for the run.
How about that in regards to the endless mode: if its foreseeable that it would just fizzle out at wave 40 to 50, just stop at 20. If it has the potential to be completely broken like the demon one, see how far you can take it.
I always prefer going endless because its more fun to see the run's properly come online and go crazy after wave 20, but the main thing is to keep having fun, as others have said it isn't really fun to watch if you don't enjoy playing
If you want to try it out, there's an arcade game in Zenless Zone Zero that is basically Brotato but the characters and companions have some really cool passives that makes it stand out. You could just skip the story until you unlock the arcade👍
@@Omega_Rex_8 he doesn't have to play it for that long to unlock the arcade and you can skip almost everything story related and dex usually tries out games like brotato
What about to install a mod "Item selling" that way you can sell uncursed items later on and yah sell "Torture" too (that open up many new strategies and I think it balance too)
Yesterday I found good strategy - druid with flutes, he has like infinite damage scaling with all the fruits gaining you luck and cursed pearls converting luck into damage. Really fun and Also strong, if you don't oneshot enemies they simply fight for you.
druid's damage scaling is ridiculous but i hate how laggy playing druid can get in endless, i wish the poison fruits also just got drawn to you when you reach negative healing from consumables, having like 5000 fruits just laying there really just makes it chug
Dex, in regards to if you should do endless or not, my suggestion is can you mod the game to increase the scaling of the mobs past wave 20? It'd be interesting if hitting a new further wave in endless meant something. Imagine if for example hitting wave 28 was an achievement and exciting as it's nearing your all time high of wave 30 you got on an overpowered build. I don't know if it's possible to add in a mod like this but it would make things really interesting, cut down the number of waves you skip and also make getting further in waves more impactful.
in terms of the endless... I wish there was an option for like "just 20 more waves" every 20 waves instead of it being hard set to endless or 20. So, like, if you get a build you like you can push it a little further but not feel forced to keep playing it way after you are bored of it.
I like endless because it's always a challenge to try and get past wave 30-40 with a given build. There's always the hope that you find some combination that allows infinite.
Fairy is interesting with cursed items because in cursed builds I will often take items I normally wouldn't if it is cursed. +2 hp regen on tier 1 items and like a -1 hp regen on tier 4 items, but taking in regards to cursed especially with naval weapons or characters with curse buffs means you end up stacking tier 1 items even if they aren't optimal for the build because they are cursed.
I think the issue I have with Fairy is that either I need it and then it's good no matter what, or I don't need it cause I have enough damage/survivability and then looking at "what makes fairy good" redundant. It'd be a bit like evaluating how much armor an item gives when you're invulnerable
I enjoy watching how far a build can go, so I prefer the videos where you go into endless mode. I also think that in cases like today, where you out-scale the enemies, it is better to set a maximum wave that you will go to(like wave 50) and stop the video there.
There is a mod that lets you recycle items, not just weapons. I suggest using it to delete some items after you get bored with a run, destroying some synergies etc. to see how far you need to go to actually loose.
Seashell: "Every 2nd shot it has 3 extra projectiles." First shot: No bonus. Second shot: +3 Third shot: No. Fourth: +3 And so on and so forth. Looks like a lot more because you have six weapons.
At least what i do is make the choices i need to make to been r20 (at least for my first wins), which means sometimes i need to take shackles, ball and chain, or handcuffs and sometimes it means I can skip those. If a run is fun I take it into endless and if one of those items hampers the progress, that's okay. Just play in the way that is fun for you though.
they should update the endless mode, not in an infinte damage enemies but to make it more dynamic, maybe change some mechanics or combine bosses abilities and health, they should also tweak a bit of the curse system, because it really is very op, like the added damage the enemies do isn't really proportional to the power we gain
To answer your question, I think you should turn off endless and play until Wave 20, and if you think you have a good build or a silly idea, you can than choose if you go endless or not.
