Hey! Driving was easy on the highways and there's not many cars on the road, although some roads in both kanazawa/takayama were very narrow. There's also a lot of paid parking around both towns with affordable pricing. I parked at kamiichi no.2 parking lot in Takayama and I believe the price was around 900yen for 3 hours at the time
Hi! If you only wish to travel between Kanazawa and Takayama you can do it with the Arch pass via Toyama (I think it covers part of that route, not too sure). However if you want to visit Shirakawa-go, the only way you can get there is by bus/drive. There is a bus company that goes through Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go and Takayama, but you have to book in advance - www.nouhibus.co.jp/highwaybus/kanazawa_en/ An alternative is the Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist pass - www.klook.com/en-AU/activity/2969-5-day-jr-takayama-hokuriku-area-tourist-pass-jr-pass/ It covers Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Kanazawa, Takayama, and Shirakawa-go buses. The downside is that it does not cover the train to Tokyo if you are deciding to go that direction.
nice video filming . I like it so much . I'm going to kanazawa as well next year. can't wait to seeing all these beautiful views

Helloo, I'm doing this same route in 2 weeks! Were you able to use the Hokuriku Arch pass to get from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go/Takayama?
