Hi Michael, hope you are well. The voice question at 19:03 was from me thank you for answering. I do hope I can clarify a little more. When I say the body self what I mean is when I close my eyes, there is a feeling of my body sitting for self enquiry. Then the voice I speak of is amongst the mental chatter in my mind but more so it is the subject the person “I” the one I take myself to be. The voice of which I identify myself as. So basically, the one who thinks “I” in literal terms in my mind, the “I” personality, the “I” that has this voice of which I identify and base my actions on. That voice seems to feel like an identity (me) that is latched onto the body feeling both of which ( the voice and body feeling) is what I identify as and / or take myself to be. This voice (me) seems to at times feel the body as separate but at the same time also makes up my identity of myself currently in the waking state. Is this then the ego? Then the 2nd part, what do I focus my attention on. Is it this voice (of myself, the me personality) that I need to find the source of, or is it the body feeling of me being present sitting for enquiry? Hope this is a little more clear. I don’t mean body feeling as a particular part of the body but in a greater sense, the body feeling of me in the material physical body that is in the waking state.
Michael, you once said that the Self doesn't have the Ego, but the Ego has a Self. Can you elaborate further on this? Or, maybe, is any of your talks in this subject available here on TH-cam? Would you please share the link to the video.
No, it's not. Self-investigation is not asking yourself questions. "The name ‘ātma-vicāra’ is only for always keeping the mind on ātmā [oneself]" - Nan Ar?
@@LieutenantBoreyko i meant investigation who is the one who do investigation is self investigation. The thing is, only subject must exist in order to do practise properly. When there is only subject left, his whole attention must be kept on itself.
@@markocvrljak3681 No, it is not. As I quoted in the previous comment, atma-vichara is keeping the mind on the awareness "I am" and not on the investigation "who is practicing self-investigation?". What about other situations in daily life? Can you practice self-investigation while walking down the street or only when you sit down with the intention to practice self-investigation? When I walk down the street I direct my attention to the awareness "I" and do not think "who is this walking down the street practicing self-investigation?" You are adding an unnecessary thing to the simple practice.
@@LieutenantBoreyko attention and investigation are not similar procceses. In order to do investigation you need attention, but not every attention is investigation. Keeping the attention on this I am will calm the mind but it will not show us what is the real nature of the ego. But on the other hand who knows, maybe attention will also do the job.
The book 'Who Am I?' will be published around mid-November on Amazon. At that time, a free sample will also be made available on the Q&A channel and the Facebook group, along with the anouncement of the exact date. Namo Ramanaya 🙏

Michael when Ramana says that the ego is a pichasa you should take this literally. We are innocent as children. We are brought into this demonic world. There are forces that your mind cannot fathom.

Asking oneself who is that who wants to do self investigation is itself self investigation.
