Thank you for a wonderful family visit! In the Northeastern United States, people love chestnuts when they can find them. Many years ago, in our City of Philadelphia, chestnut roasters offered their wares on the street. We moved but we could still buy roasted chestnuts from a specialty purveyor. We used them on our American Thanksgiving holiday and at Christmas to make a stuffing or a dressing to serve beside duck, goose or turkey.

The chestnuts, the orange and yellow leaves, the flowers , the wet stones , everything is full of beauty! I don't know whether the French have this saying, but there is one in Russian language. It is translated smth like: The beauty is in the eyes of the person who is looking!(Красота в глазах смотрящего!!!) That actually means , if you are inclined to see the beauty, you see it everywhere, in everything and in everyone ❤❤❤!!! Yes we do roast chestnuts….and I remember once I got busy and forgot they were in the oven…all of a sudden it was like guns going off in my kitchen! I learned to stay close after that😂
Love the rain in your village and how cozy your house. It is raining here in South Carolina today.. so we enjoyed homemade tomato and basil soup with cheese toast.. rain is universally perfect weather for cooking
Love the cozy "rainy video", I've always loved rain and rainy days. I don't care for sweet chestnut stuff but hubby & I eat them oven roasted with some salted butter. Yum!

Winter on French riviera are very moist and dank ! I lived in winter at Montepellier (nearly 2008 or 9) and its soo humid , rainy , foggy and windy ! and the worst : When a tempest come ("épisode méditerranéen" like are said our french meteorologists , or "mediteranean event" in english) whith there waterspouts ... When you can't warm your foots by yourself inside the bed ... The wet cold on french south costs in winter , its special ... I'm from near Lyon (betwen Lyon and Grenoble , for me a winter is more icy and dry ...) but with global warming : We have no snow now !!! Before during the 90's i have knowing winters with 10 inches of snow , -10°/-15°C ... Since 2011 in the region of Lyon : No snow are seriously fallen (2010-11 winter, last winter with 10-12 inches of snow) In alps : Snow coat are slimer every year ... Its soo serious ! Global warming is very visible in France , climate have really changed
