I was in my local Dollar Tree yesterday a woman held up one of the bigger crates you used on the side and asked me if I knew where they were! We started talking and found that we were both making the hot chocolate bar in your video. I told her that I grabbed all of the packs of chocolate spoons in the store! I said you're going to need some of these and I grabbed a package from my cart and put it in her cart. (She said she only needed one pack. I would have shared more!) We saw each other again driving down the road we waved knowing we were on the same journey!

These would be so cute to use in a classroom! I'd wrap everything in a little baggy, though. That way, snotty hands can't touch all over the other treats lol. This is so cute!!!
My favorite hot chocolate topping is def whipped cream! Growing up my dad would take us to a small diner and always got us hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream. I enjoy watching all of your videos!
I loved this Idea!! Crafted a few for Christmas gifts~ Used one for a Wine bar gift, using the 6 larger crates, as each one holds 3 mini bottles of wine~ and 2 trays in the middle for holding the wine glasses! Second I made for a make-up organizer for one of my granddaughters ~ also using 6 larger creates and 2 of the divided trays in the middle Third was a Coco Bar...but again used trays in the muddle upside-down to add a hot water pot! All were a success!! Thank you so much for this idea

I think this is the most original and fun Cocoa bar I have seen in the three plus years I've been making one. My son has moved south and there is really not many folks here to use one but I think I will do it anywhere, only smaller...maybe focusing on coffee and chocolate coffees. That would be fun. This was a terrific idea...very creative. This would also be cute for a popcorn bar (movie night if we ever can have get togethers again). Omg. I love the look of this! Do the crates say they are food safe? And where did you find food safe paint? None of my paint is safe for food contact 😞
This is a cute craft but none of the stuff is food safe. If you wrap the food individually then put them in the baskets like she said for longer storage it would be safe enough. Otherwise the paint will flake and leech into the food.
@@themakeupism , I agree. Bethany, I love you and your videos! As an early childhood professor, I encourage you to add a disclaimer at the beginning of the video that the items are not food safe. Many of your viewers may be moms who don’t know that toxins in the wood and the paint can cause brain damage or other adverse effects to nursing babies or children who consume the goodies. You may also want to let viewers know that contact paper isn’t food safe unless it’s the one line labeled food safe. Contact paper contains PVC. Sending love!
Use the clear contact paper from dollar tree instead of expensive transfer tape from anywhere else. Also, you can reuse the contact paper over and over so you don't waste as much too! Love your DIY's!!!

This is the best dollar tree diy i ever seen on you tube. What A wonderful job you did on this. I would stop by hobby lobby and get the candy making sucker bags and fill them or just use zip lock bags to line inside boxes. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents with us. OMG... I am going to make this entire setup for the place where I volunteer.. Its the fire relief distribution center in Roselodge, OR for the families that lost everything. The managers try so hard with very little community support. We get a lot of out of town help so I try real hard to do little projects like this to help it feel more homey and safe. This will be perfect for that. Plus also wanted to say I've been watching your videos since 2015 and definitely feel you on the DT sponsorship..

I made this little stand. Thanks for the idea. I didn’t stack the back row I used pieces of wood and just made legs but it looks the same. I still need to apply labels and add candies.

I found a red cocoa ceramic jar that matched the red paint perfectly from Wal-Mart along with their red sweater mugs that just made everything go together perfectly. Loved it. Thanks!

My thought the entire time! That paint isn’t food safe. Something needs to be put in the crates first before any food touches it.

For the paper for the frames I use self adhesive laminate sheets before gluing them on the frame.

Agreed. NOT FOOD SAFE. You could lay down wax paper or Saran Wrap first. Need bottles that are food safe as well for liquids.
I was thinking it but I didn’t want to say it. I would use glass jars inside each bin to insure safety and freshness.

I have never seen this diy yet. Your the first one. Great idea with the wood trays and wood box crates. Yours is huge. I have a very small kitchen so no room even for a small hot cocoa bar. I made this little stand. Thanks for the idea. I didn’t stack the back row I used pieces of wood and just made legs but it looks the same. I still need to apply labels and add candies.

Thank you so much for this inspo. I made this back in November and my family has just enjoyed so many cold nights with warm mugs of either coffee or cocoa. I found a red cocoa ceramic jar that matched the red paint perfectly from Wal-Mart along with their red sweater mugs that just made everything go together perfectly. Loved it. Thanks!

How adorable! I absolutely love this diy. I would use clear or colored, food safe saran wrap or food safe cellophane in the crates.
