why an active and passive mode because the agent is sending the same information either way? Can't you program the passive agent to behave the same way as in active mode? Hope it's clear? Basically, what are the - cost benefits - advantages and disadvantages of active vs passive?

Great question! Absolutely, there is a search function in the upper right corner of XI that allows you to search by Host Name

Hi Hendri, thanks for your question. I think you are asking how to delete a host in Nagios XI. One quirk about Nagios is that to delete a host, we must first delete all of the services associated with the host. The easiest way to do this is to go to the CCM, click on services, delete all the services for the host, and then go to hosts and delete the hosts.

yes sir, but I have a problem with the notification because the host I've deleted still lives and sends the notification that the host is down, and what can i do this case.?

      Hi Hendri,
Thanks for your follow-up. If you are still getting notifications on a host, I would suspect it is not deleted. The best thing to do at this point is to get in touch with our professional, in-house support technicians on the support forum. You can post screen shots, and dive deep into your questions with them. does the XI stand for the roman numeral eleven, or is it merely a coincidence? I notice Aaron refers to Nagios XI as Nagios ex~eye

Hi Zachary! Truth be told, we like a little clever coincidence here at Nagios. Officially, we think XI stands for "Extended Insight" and it also happens that we introduced XI in 2011.
