Thanks so much for your videos! I live in Augusta on Raes Creek below the masters, before Lake Olmsted. I have three boys, two teenagers, who are obsessed with fishing and so I recently bought my first boat. A small skiff. We’ve been out fishing in the river innumerable times but have not really figured out how to catch fish in such water. Thanks to your techniques we’ve had more success! And that means more fun. Hope to see you around
Wow! I love hearing this kind of feedback. I'm no longer in the Augusta area but plan to continue posting content when my tech cooperates with me. I miss targeting yellow perch in the canal!
Not very well. I was in my kayak. They were generating 1,2, and 7. Could get get anchored well in my kayak to fish desired area. Spoke with several folks later at fishing dock below dam and they did not do too well either. I’ll try again soon.
@@StarkFishing Can you share the number for the control room. I’d like to be able to call and see which is being operated. If I’m in my kayak it’s easier if they are not generating using 1 and 2
Great fishing! I actually just met your son at Cabela's in Augusta and he recommended your channel since I'm trying to get my hands wet on GA fishing. Do you think they're still biting right now? might try this out myself this week. I"ll be here for 6 months trying to catch anything!
Hey Mathew, welcome to the channel, but more importantly welcome to Augusta. I really love this city. It's a two hour drive to the coast, mountains, and two major metropolises. And if you like fishing, there are so many opportunities. As for the dam, you never can tell. This is the first winter I've really targeted the tailrace. I've been told they bite there throughout the year, so give it a try and let me know how you do. Be sure to call the number in the description to get the generation schedule before heading out. You definitely want them to be generating. Good Luck!
Whats the number of whitebass, hybrids and stripers you can keep in that area, and the 27 inches or more is it just striped bass or all whitebass, hybrids and stripers?
Hey Frank, the 27 inch limit is for white bass, hybrids and stripers and you’re only allowed to keep two a day in the Savannah River below Clarks Hill Dam all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. I asked the DNR about why white bass was included was told they didn’t want any confusion and have folks keep stripers by accident. You can keep white perch though.😁
Hey there. Sorry for the delayed response, I've been offline for a few days. I have an 80lbs 24volt Minn Kota Terrova. I also invested in a Lithium battery which ensures the motor runs at full strength.
Is the fishing any good at Bobby brown below russell this time of year .. I never really have time to fish but I'm planning a trip tomorrow to Clark's hill and I was going to put in a Bobby brown
Hey Spanky, good question. I had to google Bobby Brown park...never even heard of it. But, if they are generating there’s no reason the same technique shouldn’t work there. I’m actually tempted to make a trip to try it out. Please let me know how you do tomorrow.
@@StarkFishing its great for cut bait the whole month of June for sure I know of a few 30s and 3 40s that came out of a hole off a point right below the dam..

Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks! I recently moved to the area and will be trying this spot out in the AM
How’d you do?

Keep at it, perhaps I'll see you out there. I spend most of my time on the River through Spring and then start focusing on the Lake.

If I am in a kayak, shiould I put in on the SC or the GA side? Great video!
I would put in on the GA side with a kayak. Current tends to be much stronger in the SC side as well as more boat traffic

What size trolling motor do you have to keep yourself in the current?

Moved back to the area after retiring out of the Marine Corps going to take the kids for the first time this week.
Hey Jason, thanks for watching and keep me updated on your trip. Hope you get on them😁
Took me 5min to realize that I could move my phone around to see what was happening 😂
It’s definitely still a new format many folks are not accustomed to using. Thanks for dropping in😁
I waana go fishing with u im in the aiken area
You never know, we might be able to arrange that.
