IS ZURICH, SWITZERLAND WORTH IT? | our WORST travel mistake! (learn from us!)

- Don't visit Zurich Switzerland if you don't have enough money! We literally spent over $1000 in less than 48 hours, which is INSANE to us! And we didn't even eat like we normally eat... we usually share an appetizer and order 2 entrees, plus a beer or glass of wine... but no no, not in Zurich!
Just sharing for you to be aware and budget accordingly :)
We still had a great time though. The city is obviously STUNNING, but we were there during one of the biggest festivals of the year and honestly, it was gross. There was trash, pee and vomit everywhere (you could see it and smell it)... not what you expect to see in Zurich. It's funny because now that I'm typing these words, it seems like we had the worst time ever, and we really didn't. We hope we can go back to Switzerland one day and experience more of this beautiful country, but in the meantime, enjoy this video... and again, don't visit if you don't have enough money!!
★ ZURICH EXPENSES BREAKDOWN:
Tickets from Tirana to Zurich = $484 (total, for 2 people - one way)
Hotel - (JOYN Zurich) - 25 mins outside of city center = $260 (2 nights)
Train from Airport to Hotel = $9
Subtotal = $753
Day 1:
Coffee - $6 (2 coffees)
Breakfast - $39
Starbucks - $22
Lunch (1 cheese fondue, 1 appetizer, 1 large water) $66
Train back to Hotel area $9
Dinner (2 beers, 2 appetizers) $44
Subtotal = $186
Day 2:
Breakfast (store-bought yogurt + bananas) $6
Coffee - $6 (2 coffees)
Train to City Center $9 (total)
Lunch $67
Coffee and Snacks at Train Station $28
Subtotal = $116
GRAND TOTAL (48 hours in Zurich) = $1,055

OMG… don’t go to Zurich unless you have the money. It’s so much more expensive than you think it will be! Stunningly beautiful yes, but expensive, so budget accordingly 🙌🏻

Like always great video ! About Switzerland , in my opinion swiss Alpes are very nice , and the country side near mountains.. the have some great lakes. I know it's very expensive , I visited once swiss , but it's that thing on your bucket list. You must visit once in your life, and experience a "different" country . Keep up with your great videos !

I hope you get back to Switzerland one day and get to the mountains. Travel is expensive for sure! We haven't been tracking our time in Italy but we can easily spend $80 euros for one meal with wine and for us, that is $120 Canadian dollars! Thanks for the sneak peak. I'm sure your visit to Amsterdam was special!
OMG so expensive! We will go back because it is so so beautiful! Those mountains are calling our names 😍 We were obviously not used these Zurich prices hahaha after Turkey, Mexico and Albania... we were shocked to say the least!

@@waysoftheworld_ We are in Palermo and are heading back to Bari tomorrow and flying back to Canada on Thursday morning. We've had such a great time! A thunderstorm this evening has changed the weather so I guess mother nature is telling us its time to go home!

I remember I was driving from Germany to Italy.
And I crossed Switzerland
somewhere in a mountain area.
Can't really remember exactly the place because it was 14-15 year's ago.
And stopped for some food.
A simple pasta + a BBQ steak for my friend and 2 beers we paid 200euro.
Jesus Christ...!!! that's INSANE! I can't believe that's how much you paid 15 years ago... we spent all that money in 2 days and we basically only ate appetizers and no alcohol... and nothing was out of this world good... CRAZY!

Monaco 🇲🇨= richest people
At least that's my opinion.
Since we had a long drive and switched the driver sit around .
Our stop was like ."Give me food"
Zurich was my least favorite part of Switzerland, I hope you're able to go back to some of the mountain towns!

Ouch, I really didn't like getting reminded about how expensive Zurich was. 2 veggie burgers and fries for $67... HUHHH???! 💸💸💸

You guys paid like $23 or something for the tasty food in Elbasan with bread,salad,tava and in Zurich $63 for just 2 Burgers and that is insaine. What a difference.Either they get paid like King wages in Switzerland or they are just taking peoples money for nothing. I really liked the Cheeze dish though and that was very nice. Lovely video
Yes... it was painful and NOT worth it! We payed less than $25-$30 many times in Albania/Turkey/Romania (even Mexico) for great meals, with wine, etc. Zurich was crazy, we had no idea it would be that expensive and also not worth it considering the whole city was covered in pee and vomit. It was terrible, but we tried to stay positive hahaha PS: the burgers in Zurich were veggie burgers, and they were not good at all. Editing this video and doing the math hurt 😣
Yes, they're quite paid king wages in Switzerland, compared to the rest of the world. Norway comes close.

OMG yes! It was all so crazy expensive 🙈 We really wanted to see it and we know we can't afford to slow travel in Switzerland (yet!), so we were like ok let's go for a couple of days and see how it is! But the main reason was that we wanted to take an overnight train to Amsterdam so we could visit G's grandpa for a few days and the only convenient train we found was from Zurich, so we were like 'wow this is perfect' (flights from Albania to AMS were crazy expensive too!)... but obviously stopping in Switzerland ended up being 5X more expensive hahaha but hey, at least we made 2 videos 😂

You're getting to know us pretty well! It was def not worth it... too much money in too little time and nothing was memorable. But we do hope to go back one day and spend some time in the mountains! :)
