Really cool model. Loving the weird vehicles trend. I knew about that model of tankette but not the trailers. Putting treads on a trailer seems a little weird but hey, that was during the era of "we don't know how to do this, so let's give it a try". For rolling small metal bits like photoetch and foil, have you tried using a paintbrush handle or small drill but with your mat as a backing? There's enough give in mats for the metal to take a bend with each roll and it goes more smoothly than by hand.
I would imagine tracked trailers would be pretty good in muddy and uneven terrain. But then, I wouldn't know. The problem with bending the exhaust cover is that it was so small. I did look around my bench to see if I had anything small enough... The only brush handles that small were tapered. I've used my knife handle to bend round bits before... It's a good idea to be sure. A drill bit didn't occur to me, I'll have to remember that.
I also have this one. Has a knack for knocking the 1/35s off the shelf. Tiny bulk, enermous ego.
Those wheel wells as you call them is so that the suspension can move over broken ground up and down.

A very different subject from the norm Herbert.
The armored trailer looks like the basis for a tiny Hetzerette.
It does a bit.
I used the IBG decals on my IBG hungarian Turan II tank. What can I say? They are IGBish, hungaryish, dacalish and turanish.
I got another kit od Type94. With 37mm gun.
