I love your tip about marking the drain container on the outside. It is so hard to see it otherwise. Thank you for the video. I’m day 7 and watching at 2 am. Sleeping is so difficult

I just had a mastectomy. It’s been 12 days and I know how you’re feeling. I have one drain but my underarm hurts. I don’t have pain just soreness. I’m uncomfortable and sleeping on my back is not easy. My sleep has changed. I’m emotionally drained struggling with this.

How and why do they make you go so early to your house after a surgery like that??? That's not normal where I am from, they are telling me that if everything goes well the minimum im going to stay is 3 days. A mastectomy is no joke

I had a single mastectomy. My decision was that if there was no problem, do not take it out. Because of that, post surgery was not as traumatic as her experience. In many ways, removing both is a good idea because clothing will fit better. It is a big decision. The next step here will be radiation which, as time went on after sessions were done, triggered some horrible muscle cramping. Seven years later, I am still alive. You will be, too.

A wealth of good tips ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Prepping a freezer full of precooked meals, cleaning the house beforehand, giving yourself the time for a slow and good recovery (I’ve developed oedema around my scars, possibly because I started doing too much too soon…), these are things I’d like to add.
And having someone help with your laundry and changing of bed linen, so you don’t have to change, wash and hang up your own laundry, etc., are more tips I’d like to mention. (And I swear, I tried it the clever way: climbing up onto a milk crate, so I could reach the drying lines more easily 😉)
For me, having to deal with the oedema has been by far the worst part of my post-mastectomy journey.
Thanks for sharing. This was gold 🙏

Thank you for asking. I just went for my 2yr appointment and all looks good. I feel great. I joined CrossFit this year and can do most things other than jump rope! It’s too jarring on my chest. I feel good and am so thankful for early detection!

I totally disagree that women should be sent home from the hospital the very next day after a mastectomy. It sure two full nights at the least before discharge

I am thankful they sent me home. No sleep in the hospital and I felt really good afterwards.
