Hiram, always a pleasure to see your uploads. Your skill and knowledge on variety of transmissions you work on is just out of the world. Thanks for bringing us this episode and looking forward to see many more teardowns and rebuilds. Keep up the good work.
Man, I watched pt 1 and 2, and I couldn't wait for this one. My trans problems began in the solenoid body, so I went and bought all new solenoids and gaskets. I've decided to rebuild the entire trans, cause I found metal fragments in the solenoid body and in the high pressure an the one for the coast clutch. Bummer. But I learned a lot about the solenoids and what their purposes are. Thank you. P.S. That music in Video #3 is SO annoying!!! Why?? That was someone else idea, huh?
Very helpful vids I watched these and I had no problem rebuilding my 5r110w trans thanks man great job keep up with the good work and the music don't hurt a thing some people are just to picky
Sinceramente muchas gracias.
Always enjoy your vids Hiram but after 2 mins I had to stop it due to the background music is annoying as hell. If you don't monetize the video Ytube should allow you to post it
Ozzstar I agree. The Russian porn music was a bit much. I very much enjoy your vids, but was not really enjoying the music. You are the best trans guy, by far! I have learned so much from these vids, thank you!!
I love your videos Hiram, but I have to agree the music was annoying. I am not trying to complain about it but it was hard to hear you some times. As always, thank you for the awesome video! I look forward to the next one!
Hi Hiram thank you so much for posting all of your videos I have learned alot from you. I was just wondering on this video is it possible to have it remastered without the music track overlay it is just almost impossible for me to hear you speaking
It is a very informative video. I watched all three of them. My only concern is re-using the filter. It seems like a lot of work to re-use a filter. They do not cost that much for the extra piece of mind.
Damn Y-Tube police. I heard the radio in the background before and wondered if you were going to get burned. Everyone has that problem and buy adding the music was a great idea but i found it distracting. I forgive you Hiram {:>)
Because of course someone is going to watch a transmission rebuild video to listen to some muffled song on the radio in the background.... This is where copyright holders go too far.
Hello good morning. I have a 2008 F450 pickup with that model of transmission. the changes it does apparently well. but it has no reverse. The strange thing is that when I put it in neutral, the engine with the transmission does not release. It even walks forward while in neutral. The transmission was working fine until it started with a failure of selenoid B, which is the overdrive selenoid, but it was driven like this for about 650 miles and when it came out from below we realized that the plug was simply loose, we put it back and poured the oil and well, we have the problem that I mentioned at the beginning. Do you have any idea what it could be?
Always impressive to see your knowledge of gearboxes! I have a question too: Disappear your assembly paste without problems in the gear oil? Thank you for showing us your videos! Have a nice day.
I have a question what can cause the trans not go into gear or anything like it's acting like its in neutral where all itll do is rev up when i hit the gas it doesnt matter what gear im in or when I have it in reverse itll be a dead pedal like when you press the pedal it doesnt do nothing it's like hitting the pedal when the truck is off would you have any ideas
Thumps up Hiram musica o no..
Which are directly related to tow/haul? I had a code "B". Replaced it. No more code. Will not go into town mode. Light comes on but I can tell it isn't in town mode
Hiram, I just rebuilt my 5r110, I replaced all clutches, gaskets and the epc and D solenoids,I get reverse right away but it wont go into Drive. It changes RPMs when I put it in Drive but it just revs and doesnt engage.Any ideas on what I missed? Thanks, this video was so informative that I did it myself.
O no ?
I really need help I have a 08 Ford F-350 6.4 and when it shifts to 2 second it kind of throws you back a little feels like a jerk no transmission codes
What is the chance of shipping you a 5r110w I tried to rebuild myself and you figure out what I did wrong . Seemed like it was all good shifted a few times then I stop at a stop sign and pulled out then it started binding up but would roll in reverse fine but binds up in forward
Hiram, I absolutely love your videos and have been watching for a while. my dad and I run an auto repair shop in Arkansas where we swap engines and transmissions and do a variety of work. I am just now getting into transmission rebuilding as a service to my customers trying to get my shop revenue up and to feed my passions for transmissions(we are in an area where the service is otherwise unavailable). I've done a few now and everything has gone great. Do you have any advice on someone starting out? Do you use any specialized equipment like a transmission dyno? Do you install new torque converters, send them for a rebuild, or build them yourself? I work hard and do my research, but I can only do so much without having some kind of mentor to give me some direction. Dads a whiz with every system on the car, but transmissions have become something im trying to specialize in and open a new chapter for our little shop. Also, how do you estimate for hard parts? i try and give as close to a complete estimate as I can, but once you're in there and find a couple of eat up drums or a bad valvebody, etc?
Please
Hiram I have a quick question. I have a 2004 Acura TL and I was looking at those aftermarket transmission coolers online they look like heatercore kind of. Is that good to put on transmissions? Should I do it? Thanks. Love your videos, thumbs up 👍
Hiram, since you mentioned that an external transmission cooler is good to have, do you think it will be a bad idea when the ambient temperature is below freezing? I mean will it take too long for the fluid to reach optimum operating temps when using an external cooler in colder weather?
Excellent info as always but i gotta agree with everyone else on the background music bud. Extremely disturbing to your greatly informative video. But you still got a thumbs up from me.
I have watched, learned from and enjoyed your videos for quite some time now. I am sorry to say I couldn't watch this one to the end because of the distracting music.
Sorry Hiram, but as much I like your videos and a fact you are doing it for free is awsome. But this one is not watchable. If the song is a commercial maybye play it at the end of the video? Or put a link in description? Cheers
i know this is an old thread but... two reasons come to mind. The first is copyright strikes due to background radio being on. The second is his editing software added it and tried to modulate the volume based on when he was speaking. Sometime editing software does shit like this to "add" value to their software, either way both reasons suck.
What's with the music? I could just barely hear you. If it were up to me I'd give it the deep 6....(the music) I had to stop watching, I just couldn't take the music anymore.
I figured something like that must have been going on. Glad to hear that it's not a permanent thing. Music for some videos is OK, if it's done right, I just don't see it with the videos you produce. Thanks for the reply and keep up the good work. ~

es toda una experiencia verlo trabajando profesor...!!!
I would never take an automatic Transmission apart, yet i watch every Video you upload. Yes, i find it weird myself.
Nice video Hiram. I enjoy watching your videos...nice to see a professional at work!
Very helpful vids I watched these and I had no problem rebuilding my 5r110w trans thanks man great job keep up with the good work and the music don't hurt a thing some people are just to picky

A bit to loud in the music - hard to understand you - you should re- upload this video without the music
Music totally ruined this otherwise informative video.
