I don't have a husband, but I have parent(s), a sibling, in-law, and their kids disrespecting me or any boundaries I've set or basically not appreciating what I do for them. A good friend said this to me, "Eventually, they have to go home." If they continue to violate boundaries, don't invite them over. If they invite you, stay over night and leave the next morning. Zip your lip. You don't want your nephews to hate you, because of what they might see or overhear. You will need them later in life. I wish I had answers. It's draining me mentally and physically. I'm handicapped so that causes extra problems. I'm not wheel chair bound but somewhere in between at the moment. They seem to think that my physical disability is more laziness. I want to enjoy the time I have while I can still get around. But because of circumstances and their controlling, manipulative statements, attitude, and actions, I'm frequently depressed, anxious and in pain; and, a a result--physically and mentally not taking as good care of myself as I should at times. Sometimes even going to the point of actually just saying I'm OK when I know damned well I'm lying because people don't listen, care or make demeaning statements like, "You've told me this before, or I don't want to hear it anymore." People are complicated. The only solace I have is I know God loves and cares for me. He told me, "My love is enough." This statement cut through ought else going on in my mind. Maybe the Holy Spirit put my jumbled thoughts and emotions into prayer, but it was an answer. Keep praying...maybe your pastor could help, or someone in healthcare might have a solution. Anti-depressants helped me some. I wish I had easy answers for you and myself, but I don't. It's not an easy thing to speak about for any family. Hurt feelings run deep. I know. :(
I always like Allen Nolan's teaching. The way he teaches opens your mind to think. So, for me I am always thinking. For example, in this video 8:17, is about authorities. Now I do respect my authorities. But the problem is what if this authority person is and idiot? I do not want to be mean or cruel, I want to be true. The sad part is that used to about what you know. Now it is about who you know. I have seen so many people get a job because of who they are or knew. Yes Allen Nolan, I get what you are saying. But I will say that I know GOD is in control and I will believe HE will take care of all things. Amen and GOD bless us all. We are in the family of CHRIST, and we are the children of GOD. husband is to submit to his wife just as much as the wife does. most of the teachers on women's role is based on traditions of men not on the Bible and its wisdom and truth. eph 5;21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. submission goes both ways. the word translated as HELPER in Genesis implies that the stronger person helps the weaker one. this very word was used several times in refference to God Himself who is Helper of mankind. the woman is the hEAD of her husband. 1 tim 5;14 says that the woman is to GUIDE her home and the word translated as guide in greek is oikodespoteo which is a compound of two words: oiko - house and despoteo which is a self-revelatory word. and this word means that she is the head and the master of the house. you look at woman through biological roles not through a spirit man. those who look at people through flesh are carnally minded (romans 8;5) man and woman (husband and wife) are one flesh. there is no male dominion or authority over the wife. they co-rule and co-govern.
Now I have to add, video 9:46, very interesting. To not be afraid, and to do what is right. Now I will tell you that I have done many bad things in my life. As well as most of you. Now I tell you that I think about all the people who have tried to do the right thing. Then they get killed in the process. Now most of you know that this is the way of life. Now I want you all to put this in your mind and heart. GOD has protected me watched over me and guided me to this very day. Because of GOD, I am alive to this very day. Now, if I am to die tomorrow, then so be it. It is not my will, but it is the FATHER's will. Only the FATHER and the SON gives life. The devil is trying to take it away. Amen to you and all of GOD's children.
What a horrible adulteration of God's word. It is you sir who does not understand Biblical submission and you are going to be held accountable by God for leading his children astray.
I think what he means is that in the marriage since the man is the head so God says "His" family making the man responsible and not saying "her" family because that would mean she is the head instead of the man. He is dealing with the current family not the family's you both came from.
God has called you to teach. I been in church my whole life and i finally found a teacher who teaches the Bible the way I see it as well.
