This happened to me with an And Justice For All shirt, I walked up to the girl eagerly and said we had the same shirt, she said “oh, ok” awkwardly and before I could ask her if she liked Metallica she started talking to another girl.
Happened to me twice. Once at community college, i had on my Master of Puppets Tee guy walked past with a kill 'em all t shirt. We both stopped, looked back and just threw up the horns. The second time i was sat on a bus, headphones on, rocking my favourite slipknot t shirt. Guy gets on the bus, also with slipknot t shirt. I hit pause as the guy sits behind me. "If you're five five five then i'm" (had to check, guy might have just liked the design" "six six six!" Comes the reply
See I mostly get annoyed when I see people wearing rock shirts because I’m a rock fan, I like most genres of rock but prefer heavier stuff and most people in my school are just posers and wear the shirts to look cool. It triggers me.

I'm a broke ass kid, so I don't have money for merch + in my country there is not much of them anyways, so instead I just make pins with band logos and names. I'm about 5months into making pins, yet no-one had recognised the bands on them. I'm not surprised though, t-shirts are huge, and the pins are small af. Maybe once I will draw a bigger merch than an a4 placate or a pin which is a size of a bottle cap.
