#3dprinting #3dprinter #neptune4pro - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
I appreciate videos like this that aren't actually reviews, but still tell me the majority of what I need to know about the machine. I've got 2 Vorons now, and a resin printer, so I'm not really in the market for a new machine, but I still find your videos entertaining and informative. I almost didn't watch this video, but I'm glad I did. I think I have a new default recommendation for a cheap printer for other people, and I'm really impressed at the state of the industry right now.
Thank you very much. Somehow I missed this comment, but I really appreciate it.
Thank you for taking the time to go over these details. Best guide thus far.
I like your new focus on building stuff. There are enough 3d printer reviews out there. I like to see functional 3d printing projects! Looking forward to it!
Your take on reviews is spot on. Stoked to see what is coming up next!🎉
Another straightforward and incredibly useful video! I love 3d printing as well and I'll keep following!
This is what I look for in a product review, something that doesn't need a team of experts to use! This video has gained you a subscriber.
I followed your guide, and I'm happy to say my Neptune's wifi works. Thank you for the easy-to-follow guide. :)
Thank you for this! I'm definitely excited to get mine soon and this was one of my bigger worries. I appreciate the work that you put into this!
Terrific information regarding installation of wifi access on the Nepturn 4/4 Pro. Exactly what I needed to know. Thank you so very much!
watched a handful of reviews of this and this one was by far the best.
liked and subbed, for whatever that's worth.
Almost a year later and your content is still helping people. Thanks! =)
Hey good on you to pivot, your content has always been top tier but like you said you gotta do what’s best for the business. Can’t wait to see what you’re working on!
I appreciate your honesty when it comes to reviewing machines.. (I can relate :) ) Focusing on the evergreen content is where it's at!
Looking forward to more building and tinkering videos. I loved that about YT years ago and it feels like everyone has moved to the review format. At this point if you've reviewed one printer you've reviewed them all.
TLDR Excited about the format change!
Thank you for producing this excellent instruction video. Merry X-mas!
Excellent video - and KUDOS for the step by step Wifi tutorial 😊❤
DUDE!!!!!! The wifi info/setup just got you a subscribe and a like. You ROCK!!!!! Thank you sooooo much!!!
Thanks for all the WiFi setup details!
Thankyou looking for my first 3d printer and found you and this yeah kinda hooked now so thankyou
Thanks for the Wi-Fi setup, saved me time.
Thank you so much for this video. Definitely didn't see most of this info on any other video
I agree to many others here, there are tons of reviewers out there that does great jobs, your building things are more fun indeed and also gets a lot more interest from me 🙂
I connect Tp-link Archer T4U USB dongle to printer just for fun and... it works!!! It is funny because this dongle ALWAYS require to add drivers to use with Windows PC and Linux as well. Thanks for your post! This really helped me.
Excellent preview of the printer. I ended up buying the 4 Pro. It's been great. I'm wondering if you could point to a tutorial on how setup the camera. Every one I found ends up with the webcam not working. Like the mjpg streamer is not running. I see that you have a different web interface setup too. Completely new to klipper and that whole armbian printer environment, but not completely new to pi-based systems. Just not having any success. Thanks again for the preview. It was very enlightening.
Thank you for your effort, sir.
Thank you - this took me less than 5 minutes to get done - simple and easy instructions and my WIFI dongle worked! I had to unplug it and plug it back in to work - but the random Edimax AC usb dongle I had lying around worked (got lucky I guess).
Really interested in this one. Good stuff boss.
Baby's first Klipper is a great explanation. I bought my son a 3 Pro for Xmas and he has been doing more and more by himself. Being 9 he is more interested in just finding cool models to slice and print. I am building my Voron 2.4R2 right now and he is getting more interested in the firmware and other parts of the build and Klipper. Something like the 4 Pro would be what seems like a nice upgrade but keep him familiar with everything.
So helpful, thank you!
As you said armbian comes with limited wifi drivers preinstalled, but if you have to install networkmanager or something else to connect to wifi anyway, you could also take the step to install the wifi drivers for your chipset. Granted, I understand in the form of a quick tutorial that would make it quite a bit longer, but it could very well be an option.
I was having trouble finding specific drivers for the ones I had, so providing a tutorial for that would make it way more complicated when I myself was having trouble finding them. If I did that it is a 100% certainty I’d have comment after comment of “I bought this $10 one on Amazon that doesn’t say what chipset it uses, which driver do I need? Do the work for me!” I have to think about the long term support that’s gonna continue to happen with these videos unfortunately. A good thought on a case by case basis though.
That is a good point to make, still a good remark that there are other options for those that know what they are.
I will also add from personal experience that while most devices can be made to work, some need some pretty nasty workarounds.
I really wouldn't want to be the one handling these issues in the comment section.
Id love to know how to install the drivers for my WiFi dongle - I have them but cannot make any sense of the directions.
Elegoo has come a long way since the Neptune 1.
The fact it's ethernet is a plus for me, I recently installed ethernet in my workshop, and was able to finally hardwire my ender 3 running octoprint, so much less painful than wifi
getting a neptune 4 plus soon and it has built in wifi :O cant wait :D
Thanks for this! The TP-Link TL-WN725N worked for me
@TannerNetterville Does it get a wifi IP address after restarting the printer?
@@AG34273 I've restarted the printer several times and had no issues. I have not yet set up a static IP for this mac address in my router but I will if the IP starts changing
I heard that it has many verions, What version do you use, can you post the exact link of product information that you have purchased. Thank bro
Thanks for this video. The WiFi dongle installation hack was particularly appreciated. I probably could have figured it out myself in an afternoon but it's great that you showed us how to do it.
I hope Elegoo makes a 300 mm cube print volume version with Klipper, but adds an accelerometer so it can do input shaper calibration to maximize print speed and quality for each customer installation instead of some generic input shaper profile, and with WiFi because almost nobody uses a wired LAN connection in 2023. It'd be great if there was an optical filament run out sensor on the print head as well instead of that dangly bit next to the reel.
I wish these manufacturers would add the accelerometers to the hardware itself, instead of it being an additional expense. I wouldn't describe these printers as "crude klipper implementations," but I think these first high-speed cheapies are clearly "We were making this printer already, and added Klipper."
Accelerometers are cheap and easily available, and it would be nice to get have "calibrate input shaping" as a built-in option. I also think getting the accelerometer closer to the nozzle (instead of "somewhere on the X-carriage") could make input shaping more precise.
@@B1GTOBACC0 - I agree on all points. We're seeing some early commercial Klipper installations. Bambu put the accelerator on the print head and Creality copied them, which can do good input shaping on a core XY machine. Klipper on a lower priced bed slinger is a different proposition. The manufacturer is less likely to include an accelerometer, and a bed slinger needs an accelerometer on the extruder for X axis calibration and another accelerometer on the bed for Y axis calibration.
Just found your channel and have loved your honest take on reviewing machines. I understand your position on machine reviews just a shame from my perspective that another open mind is backing off from doing them.
Hope they come out with a Max version of 4. Waiting to see when Bambu will release a large format printer.
The Biqu Hurakan was another affordable Klipper 3D printer with a "segmented" (or perforated) heat bed just like this. You had a switch to toggle between 100W and 240W, which mostly kept the heat where it was expected to be but some did creep, of course.
I wanna say , thank you. I manage to connect mine under 30 mins. Anyway pretty lucky the wifi dongle i bought was compatible XD (different brand but also cheap lol).
I’ve ordered mine do you know when they are shipping them out?
excellent video.
I'm pleased that you've decided to focus more on stuff that you want to do, instead of review chasing.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for taking the time to create, edit, and share
I got myself N3Max, these upgrades are all I am missing there!
Btw @MandicReally is there an all-metal hotend, or still the PTFE lined one?
Nice work.
Alright. I just received my 4Pro. It's working great. One thing I can not figure out is the webcam section. I saw some threads online stating mainsail is required. Is there any other way to get the camera working with out switching to the mainsail UI?
Alan, I agree with you on reviews not being worth the time we put in to do them, which is partly why I've stopped doing them. I'll miss your reviews, but I don't blame you at all.
Thanks for the nozzle information, I've been halfway to order the printer, lol
Eh, I ordered some CHT knock offs on Ali express that should fit it. I’m starting to suspect this nozzle design is going to become more common fast.
How did you install mainsail for use on the neptune 4 pro. I do not have any experience with fluid, but I do with mainsail.
I was about to buy this but didn’t want to wait - hate the preorder thing they all do. Went with sovol sv06 plus. Adding klipper via btt pad 7 - think I made the right choice now that I see it
At least these new printers are pushing prices down. The SV06 Plus can bought for a great price. Creality sell those gantry fan clusters which is probably needed to get the super high speeds.
Will there be an automatic filamentchange be possible?
What’s that pink/purple filament you have loaded on the printer while talking about it?
First of all, hello, I have been having difficulty connecting a camera to the neptune 4 pro printer I have had for about a week, I wonder if you can shoot an information and installation stage video on how it is connected.
hello, i can't install the network manager... what can i do ?
When i plu the wi-fi adapter in my PC, it opens up a dvd drive with an executable for installing drivers. Does yours do that too or did i buy the new version? I ordered it from AE and it came in a box with a manual that were all in chinese
Can you install stock Klipper to this board and customize it? I mean, if I want to convert this printer to a CoreXZ like a Switchwire, would that be possible?
hi, still waiting to buy my first 3d printer, I look at reviews and I can say the market now has a variety of valid products, I know I can be OT but is it worth to spend a little more to buy the Neptune 4 plus that will come with wifi? Surely it has other little improvements over the neptune 4 pro (ceramic element in the nozzle? all other specs seems not so different), all this new neptune 4 3d printers differs from the printable area so a straight comparison cannot be done but I ask for an advice if the preorder of 322€ for the Neptune 4 Plus you consider a good deal. thank you.
Beginner's question here: I am planning on getting this but I have no problem using an ethernet cable for network connection - So question is, does it have a proprietary software that will easily recognize and connect to the machine? I dont need full controls, I just need a way to send the GCODE and start printing while sitting at my computer instead having to get up and bring a SD card. Thanks
Any chance you could share how you got your webcam working Settings? Thanks!
Thank you
I mean.. I really like the deep reviews
LOVE MY 4 PRO :)
what were some of the other devices u used because the on i have is not working
Is it possible to use this printer with a wifi repeater connected to the cat5 port?
Do you think the neptune 4 could be better option than the new released creality ender-3 v3 SE? I'm fighting between Which one to purchase and get better and faster machine after be using ender 3 pro, I was planning to buy a p1p but budget is not enough for now so will sell one of my ender 3 pro and buy one of these 2 options, neptune or ender 3 v3 SE
HELP!
The wifi dongle link you gave us is no longer available. cna you please give us the Brand, Modle# of yours?!
Really appreciate the videos, i have a problem though with my Neptune 4 pro, i succeeded to connect to wifi but i have to turn it off to put it in another room and then it loses connection and has to be wired again. Is there a solution for the Neptune 4 pro to keep his wifi IP adress even when turned off?
Awesome overview. It’s such a wild machine, and there’s so much to cover (like that massive fan module)!
Nice work!
Ok I have a genuine question and this is my first printer so I’m sorry if it’s a noob question. I did all of these steps and everything worked until searching for it on angry ip. Is there something that may cause it to work until that step? I would be absolutely ok running the whole printer through the thumb drive but when I do I get the message often that the usb has been disconnected when it hasn’t been. 😢 I have updated both firmwares and tried everything I can to get it working but at this point I’m scared to run it because I’ve wasted so much filament on this issue.
I think we finally hit the sweet spot of the ender clone. This machine has everything I'd want to upgrade on an Ender 3.
The only bummer is the proprietary nozzle
Up until really recently I still recommended the Ender 3 has an entry level printer. Elegoo has legitimately finally brought a handful of clones with legitimately good features that have won me over to recommending their machines.
That nozzle is a bummer but as more machines are using it I’ve got hopes we will see more nozzle options. This is the 3rd machine I’m aware of with that nozzle (& the original Spyder Hotends). Hopefully we see a CHT version of it. THAT will make things interesting.
Are we sure it is proprietary and not a M5 clone?
The Kobra 2 has a similar (maybe the same) nozzle. Maybe this will be a new standard nozzle.
@@petercallison5765 Elegoo support (very responsive!) has answered my question. The nozzle is custom. 18mm in length with 10mm of M6 thread.
The filament run out sensor may as well not be there. Because when it tells you to change filament you get an error and cannot resume the print... This was with the latest firmware update.... 😢
Not sure what changed or if I did something wrong. Ordered 3 of the dongles up, got all the way to connected, no wireless showing. Great vid/s though!!
I would love it if someone could help, how do I setup the camera? Its not showing anything in the fluidd browser page. What settings should I use?
I tried 2 wifi sticks.
One is not working at all.
The second was found but not in the network manager.
Your link to the wifi stick is not working or not available anymore. Can you share an alternative or the name of the wifi stick?
What kind of usb hub you use? On my wifi is not working
Nice video ! Juste a question, Moonraker is avalaible on the printer ? To use with a phone, or over API ?
Moonraker is installed and accessed via FLUIDD as I showed (or Mainsail, but you have to install that as it isn't out of the box.).
Thank you for a great video! Shouldn't we be able to just use an ethernet to wifi adopter? This way no need to mess with the OS? Printer just thinks it's connected to ethernet while computer is talking to it over the wifi interface?
Hi. Thanks, if works when setup is done, but after a reboot it's doesn't"t connect to the wifi again.. are the settings stored in the printer memory?
@wallprintfr I had the same issue. Search for my username on this page and you will see instructions to fix it.
would u plz add a new link for the wifi dongle, the link in the unfo box is dead.
thank you
Hi I bought a Tenda w311mi wifi dongle but when I send the lsusb command to the device it does not see the dongle. The wifi dongle works fine on my own computer. Can you help me?
I finally got my Neptune 4 Pro in and I've been loving the speed. I have an Ender 5+ that I run octoprint on along with a pi camera, so I'm not a stranger to the web interface. I have the Neptune connected via LAN cable, but I'm having all kinds of issues getting my Logitech 920 to show up in the web interface. It is showing up via the "lsusb" command, but not on the gui. Were you able to just plug and play, or did you have to mess with some configuration files? If you did have to make adjustments, could you point me in the right direction? I know this is an older video, but out of all the reviews out there, this has been the most informative for me.
Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm trying to get my cam to hookup via wire and fluidd that came with the printer.
@@MiaMia-zw5wu No, I didn't. From what I was able to find out, there was an update pushed out that broke the plug -n-play of webcams. Support from Elegoo said, "sorry, we can't assist you because it wasn't designed to use webcams". So in between this video and the official release, updates were made that make go boom.
The link doesn’t work for me.
Is it possible to connect the printer to a wifi bridge/repeater? Doesn’t that also give you network connectivity?
I'm thinking a WIFI extender with an RJ45 ethernet input would work to provide WIFI to the printer... acts just as though it's plugged into the network, but pulls wirelessly from your WAP. Those run around $15 on Amazon. Am I missing something in that regard?
Really interested in getting this Printer. Thanks for the Wifi guide as well.
Do you know if this printer uses standard nozzles or some proprietary nozzle that ill have to go to Elegoo for?
They aren’t a common nozzle, but I’d no longer call them “proprietary”. The Creality Ender 7 & 5S1 both use them, as does the Kobra 2 I believe. I ordered some CHT Knock-Off nozzles for it off of AliExpress and plain nozzles are there all day long from various vendors. I don’t think it will be long before the range of nozzle options for this form factor becomes a lot more common.
@@MandicReally Ah sweet! I'm glad they didn't decide to use something completely locked down. Gonna place my pre order tonight, I think. Thanks again!
@@shadzman if you do I’d appreciate if you used my affiliate link, haha. Any support helps: tinyurl.com/ElegooNeptune4Pro
Hope it meets your expectations.
Inputshaper? ADXL sensor not included?
Нормально так, годный принтер
Hi! Do you believe that the low fps on the camera has anything to do with the low power output from the usb hub?
I think it is probably a software limitation. The same webcam only does 15fps on my Voron 2.4 plugged into a USB 3.0 port on the Raspberry Pi 4 in it.
thanks for the reply! @@MandicReally
Would a Wifi to lan Adapter also work, if not why ??
Can I suggest that you add the commands to the description so people can copy and paste. I have the full size MKS Skiper and so far only used it via ethernet so I guess I have all of this to look forward to.
Good call. I’ll add them soon. 👌🏻
hey man, really appreciate your effort and videos
WHAT DO YOU PLUG THE OTHER END OF THE CABLE THAT YOU PLUGGED INTO THE LAN PORT INTO?????
To the router
does anyone have a good comparison for the fan such as a vaccum or something?
is it not possible to use a wifi extender with ethernet cable?
Hi . I was just wondering if MKS Robin WIFI module would work with neptune 4 series like it worked for neptune 2 series printers? 🤔
There is no socket on the board for it.
@MandicReally I found green and black connector below the E1 stepper connector . Is it different one?
and on neptune 4, you can turn on WiFi?
Do you think we can buy the same extruder and heat block for the Neptune max?
I tried installing it myself and it doesn’t fit without modification. If I can make some time (unlikely) I’ll see about adapting it. That said, I don’t know that Elegoo will sell it just yet. They’ll need them to fill orders and since it will require modification to fit, they may not be apt to do it.
@@MandicReally Thanks for the reply. I guess I am used to the creality customisations and stuff. I really liked your reviews. I can't decide if I upgrade to the ender 5 plus where i can easily replace the parts or if I should get the bigger neptune max.
Can confirm that an old tp-link TL-WN722N also works as the wifi adapter
i'm wondering if it would be easier to just use a wifi extender with a ethernet port in it, would be able to run driverless or without changing any settings, and extenders arent much more expensive than dongles nowadays anyway :)
Was that white thing on the bed a tgermal fuse? If thats true then props to elegoo. Thermal RunAway only protects from sensor based failures, if the mosfet failed in the closed position then good luck
All of those dongles sold out now. It's right that the dongle with Realtek 8192FM will be OK?
That's funny you mentioned not having an LTT lab, considering the recent controversy.
the 3D printing world is just bombarded by manufacturers.. jeebus man
Yeah, and they're all trying to unload all the old bed slingers on us...
@@MrDaneis I canceled my order for a MK4 today, ordering a P1P. Gotta go new school.. too many options to stay old school. Plus I have enough bed slingers to work kinks out on to get running.
