I made up my lore here it is: one time sonic started to get jealous by the fact tails is able to fly even without the chaos emeralds sonic's jealousy Continues everyday until finally he decides to go on eggman's side just so he can get rid of tails so he can stop being jealous but unfortunately he somehow lost to tails and fell into the lava to die and then he eventually came back somehow
