For those of you trying this yourself,
*Reminder List of Nether Survival Tips:*
Shroomlights are a light source farmable with nether trees,
Wither skeletons are over 2 blocks tall and can be blocked like endermen,
lava Buckets are an abundant and powerful fuel source,
Blaze Rods cook 12 items each, and stack to 64,
Soul Campfires cook food faster than furnaces, and require no coal, so don't waste Blackstone on furnaces until you need Netherite.
Piglins Barter out fire resistance Potions relatively frequently,
Magma Cubes spawn more frequently in Basalt Deltas, so go there to stock up on Fire Resist Potions, if you have overworld access,
Blackstone generates in Basalt Deltas and is used as if cobblestone in every recipe, including Brewing Stands,
Potions require water to brew, so maybe have an infinite water source outside a nether portal wherever you plan on brewing, if you do brew,
Cauldrons hold water even in the nether, but use it up when bottled from or used to extinguish the player.
Twisted Vines grow upwards, are climbable, and Grow with Bone Meal,
Bone Meal is readily accessible from Soulsand Valley fossil pieces,
Nether wart blocks and warped wart blocks are compostable,
ALL nether wood is fireproof, including in furnaces, but sticks are NOT, and therefore can be used as early fuel,
Soul Fire torches, lanterns, make great atmospheric lighting, if that's your thing,
Lapis Lazuli is unobtainable From the nether, So keep ALL enchanted Items unless Overworld Lapis Mining is allowed,
Striders drop string, but you can barter for it too,
Lava flows farther and faster in The Nether, so be very careful,
Piglins will not aggro if you open a chest inside of walls,
Lodestones and Spawn Anchors Exist.
They changed it so piglin now aggro if you open or break a chest even inside a wall. Instead, use a hopper to take items out of the chest

Almost an hour in and I'm ready to scream about how you can use sticks as fuel or cook food on soul campfires and how you can trade with piglins by right-clicking them so that babies don't yoink the gold.

That is a really good challenge to take, and very entertaining as well :)
A few notes for the next time:
- brown mushrooms have indeed twice the chance for spawning comparing to red ones, but you can get some extra spawns in nether wastes and basalt deltas
- for early smelting - no need to collect a bucket - you can use sticks to smelt stuff.
- when trading with piglins - you can just right click them with a gold ingot - faster, and no stealing from kids as well
- get some red and blue vines. With some bonemeal (via composter from all the vegetation, or from bone blocks from soul sand valley) you can make quick paths from below and from above, even from the nether ceiling.

Tip: Multishot only uses ONE arrow. You can also pick up one of the arrows when shot by a multishot crossbow. Picking up the center arrows are the pickable ones.
It does use 3 durability per shot tho
It definitely uses 3 1:30:00 He has 16 before he accidentally shoots and 13 when he looks in his inventory.

@@2nd-place the nether wood doesn't burn, only the sticks created by them do so, you can't use the planks or logs.

I don’t think three hours is a speed run, especially in comparison to others who will have used glitches to complete it (which is very common in speed runs of most games)
Don’t look at my profile picture Well for official speedruns, people aren't allowed to use glitches at all. I think the random seed Minecraft speedrun record for 1.15 is somewhere around 23 or 26 minutes? Not sure if it's been broken yet though, they're always trying to outdo each other. You could check out IlluminaHD or Dream on TH-cam, they film from beginning to end with no cut scenes.

Tips and tricks: multi shot crossbows only use one arrow at a time. You can also pick up one of the arrows you shoot afterward. There’s also gold blocks hidden randomly in Bastions, particularly behind chiselled black stone. You can right click on a piglin to give it a gold ingots so you don’t have to deal with the babies.

Sticks... You can make sticks that burns for 0.5 blocks each...

@@noahg4369 no, i mean that he doesn't need to use a respawn anchor and a chest filled with glowstone, he could just set his spawn through command, the reason to get a respawn anchor is to get the ability to choose you spawn, and he started the game with one, imo he should work to get one.

A forest spawn is really such a huge help, I tried this once and the nether spawn had just no forests anywhere nearby. It took hours to even get wood because the closest forest I could find in any direction was like 1000 blocks out through a soulsand valley and a basalt delta and then another soulsand valley and even when I got the wood piglins would kill me immediately after so I had to start from scratch

They can hear you opening chests, even through walls. The only truly safe way to get things from chests around piglins, is to put a Hopper beneath it. It will draw the items out of the chest, and you can get them from the Hopper without making them angry.

As of the latest pre-releases, Piglins will aggro when you open chests through walls. You can use a hopper to extract items from a chest if you don't want to fight Piglins.
Also, soul fire torches and campfires scare off Piglins and Hoglins.
Piglins and Wither Skeletons will fight eachother.
Crimson Vines grow downard with bonemeal and can be used to descend (you just have to find a way to place it on the underside of a block first).
Warped Vines grow upwards with bonemeal and can be used to ascend.
Both of these can be obtained without shears, since they have a chance to drop from the naturally spawning ones. Shears do guarantee the drop though, which can help with farming trees (because of composting). You probably don't need to waste iron on tree farming, though.
Hoes are very useful for breaking Netherwart blocks, Warped Wart blocks, and Shroomlights
If you have fire resistance, you can use lava buckets to halve fall damage (it doesn't nullify it completely like water does)
Red and Brown mushrooms can be placed in the darkness and spread slowly over time, but you can bonemeal them into large mushrooms if there is enough space above the mushrooms.
Netherwart Blocks, Warped Wart Blocks, Crimson vines, Warped Vines, and Shroomlights can be used to obtain bonemeal from a composter (which can be made with nether planks).
Another easy way to obtain bonemeal is to harvest the skeletons and skeletal remains in the soulsand valleys.
If you can't find a saddle in a stronghold, you can still ride a strider by finding one that has a Piglin on it and killing the Piglin.
Also, right-clicking on a Piglin with gold in hand hands it to them directly so you don't have to worry about babies grabbing it.
I accidentally raided a bastion when I started because I did not know anything about the nether,because I wanted to learn everything by myself and not by watching videos.
