From my perspective, the QED’s take the cake. A nice open stage - frequencies aren’t overstated, nice and natural - vocals are clear but not forced - everything else I listened to either sounded muffled with warmth, overly recessed and dry, shallow and shouty - the QED’s, after multiple listens, really just hit that sweet spot for me. Now the issue is, FINDING the damn cables in Canada! Not so easy!

Thanks Pawel, this is the only way to compare easy switching between cables. Only at very start I feel QED xt40 got either louder or fuller/more “body” to it? I don’t listen to music usually but have good hearing. Now I got arcam alpha 9 with Acoustic Energy AE2 speakers and I enjoy listening. It’s difficult for me to pick up differences between cables. If somebody would point out where and what the difference, it would be easier. Something like at end of video Chap in glasses said about ArtSpeak cable Adele a first t 1:10 or 1:20 of song where with ArtSpeak he hear organ on right side he couldn’t hear with other cables. About 2:03:20 describes low end to listen double base ArtSpeak, Duelund.

So, you preferred the amount of bass on a heavier gage wire? More current carrying ability, more woofer movement, it's basic physics. Try the 12 gage Dueland wire against the Art Speaker cable, I don't know which you'll prefer, but 16 gage in home wiring is rated at 10 amps, 14 gage at 15 amps, and 12 at 20 amps, so obviously the heavier cable should be carrying more current, which is needed to better control the bass driver. Nice review over all, but IMO, you should compare 12 gage to 12 gage and 14 gage to 14 gage, etc., if you are going to compare bass...

Hi Guys, great comparison again! I hope you do these live test with every test you do in the future ;)! It is such a good way to audition these products (against written or spoken reviews). Again the differences are very prominent on my IEMs. The Purecable for me is the clear winner. It seems to add nothing to the sound. You don’t notice the cable. The opera song really touched me with that cable. Makes me wonder how good their more premium cables are...The Supra en Duelund also stood out for me, but added a certain flavour or lightness to the sound, which I personally don’t like. They are to too detailed for my taste and put to much emphasise on the mids and highs. I expected more from QED, but it was really muddy in the mids. The Art Speak cable little bit too much emphasis on bass, but also a little muddy in the mids. You can clearly hear it with the piano part on both cables. This is the first time I clearly have a different view than Jaap who was touched by that one. Maybe he is biased on this cable, because of a certain personal attachment to the product, or the bass part is too prominent or to difficult to capture with this microphone setup. Or maybe just a difference in taste :)!
@@TheAlphaAudio Just listened again to the test (this time the Fugue song only) on my desktop monitors (Adam A5x's). The difference in bass on the Adam's is less pronounced, but what I do clearly notice with the Purecable is that the soundstage/spaciousness, level of depth and instrument separation seem to be on a different level. If you compare the piano notes for example, they are shorter and less pronounced on the ArtSpeak, as if they are cut off too early and a little bit smudged with the bass guitar. The Art Speak sounds really coherent I have to say, but for me to the point it becomes too smooth. I just also had a look at the Purecable website and the advantages of the nano technology they mention themself: less distortion, more music, more dynamics, natural midrange, more realistic representation, etc. These are on par with my own experience in this test (both on IEMs and monitors). So very impressed by the science behind it. I was planning on ordering the Tellurium Q Black II cable (2x3m=€399), but will order and try out the cheapest Purecable instead (2x3m=€114), which is 1/4 the money. I think the value is incredible. By the way I still have my Adam A5x on tryout and will replace it with the HEDD Type 05, based on your recent live test with the HEDD Type 07 as well ;)! People should ask themselves what they think they are hearing. Let's say we have 3 meter cables of 0.75 mm2 audio cable, (Of 6 euro for 10 meters from the Gamma of course.) so 6 meters in total as electricity has to travel to and from the speaker. Our resistance calculator tells us that's 0.136 Ohm. For audible frequencies straight wire has negligible inductance or capacitance so essentially linear resistance. Compare this to the say, worst case 3 Ohm minimum of a speaker along with it's huge impedance swings throughout the frequency range. Then where should these differences in tone come from? I found out how sugestive my ears are the hard way. I was hoping to improve a not so ideal system with Equalizer APO on pc. But I stored my changes in a file different from Config.txt. So for over a month I made many changes and heard each and every one of them. Till I found out APO does not use the settings in any other file than config.txt so my changes never had any effect. A big wake up call. Here you see people write upon listening to the Gamma cable (through youtube) : "The system sounds like it has a heavy cold". No it doesn't. It's all suggestion.
Hey where did you buy: Pure Cable Nano (bulk cable: SP#79SV)? I checked the website and price is 30eur per metre but you are talking that it is 20 bucks, so have pureaudio jacked up prices or do you know seller that have more reasonable prices?? I have duelund 16ga, but it is too bright for my system so pureaudio seemed to be more to my taste/system, thanks!
DUELUND (vintage tone, guitar guys wire) that go so low, made my windows vibrate with levels untouched... Lacks some definition in very lows, but are here to help humanize the message, if you like that : "more magical energy".
This is like choosing speakers, each brings something different to the party and because we all hear something different there will be no outright winner. I hear differences between all but could not choose one over another because what one brings it always seems to lose something too.
@@mihokradovan I’m sorry, perhaps my choice of words could have been better. This could be a long response so again I have to apologize. What I meant was the differences between speakers. My words referred to what they thought they were hearing. In my honest opinion I have tried cables, and other ‘high end’ accessories and in most cases I have not been able to discern any jump is quality to justify the expense of the item. I also use other people’s ears to listen when I’m doing blind testing, the only true way to really determine a difference. In addition, my electrical engineering background forces me to question everything. With an Ethernet switch the quality of the music changes by such a small amount and at frequencies outside of our normal hearing range, that’s if it changes at all, and it it not the switch causing this. If you have a very inexpensive system, network included, you might be lucky to hear a difference. However it is likely to be a power supply generating noise and not the switch itself. Most switches are built using the same topology and circuit designs so how can they sound different? Digital is digital and analogue is analogue, noise imported into a circuit can influence the output. I am a believer that the manufacturers of equipment design, build and perform tests on their gear and address issues prior to release to the public. Why would a manufacturer of any component not ship a cable too big and heavy for an IEC connector, why do they not ship amplifiers with 20Amp connectors and cable unless you have your gear thirty feet away from the outlet. Sorry, so much crazy out there. I tried my $9,500 amplifier on a $140,000 dollar pair of speakers a friend was testing and the sound was astonishingly better than it was with a $120,000 set of mono-blocks and preamp he had, verified by two additional listeners in the room. What does all that tell you? What it tells me is that I could just have bad hearing and a system that is not as highly resolving as some sales people would like me to have, also these are my personal opinions.

Wow. This is the first time in 35 years of being an audio nerd that I think I can hear a difference between cables. Thank you for this demo, it’s quite an eye opener! Do you know if Art Speak are still in business? I’ve not been able to find a web site for them. Cheers!
You mean optical cable? That completely depends on the protocol. Spdif optical is offically 24/96, but of course it can go way higher with other protocols. Optical networking goes way higher... think of multiple gigabits per second, or even more than 100 gigabit per second.
So would my marantz streamer using spdif coax instead of my fiber optic going to my dac be a better option in sound? Plus would my streamer be a better option the using my laptop with a USB going direct to my dac? I'm using audio nirvana. What do you think?
Vr gr

Yes. Seems like it
@Wild Blueberry it all depends on your taste. I like Qed XT40 (non-i version) and Duelund.

@@TheAlphaAudio okay , thank you very much :-)
There are sometimes vast differences with cable
I remember my first $100 interconnect running from a marantz cd player and amp and then trying a different interconnect and. Switching back to the first cable and the brightness was so incredibly fatiguing I removed it as fast as I could
And put the first came back
People should ask themselves what they think they are hearing.
We got it from the Dutch importer.
True. It is all about finding your own balance.
Do you?
Do I what, not sure I understand your question? Sorry.
@@christopherkent6512 do you really hear the sound difference on youtube with 128 kbps? You must have magic ears.
Where are the Art Speak cables sold? Did they go out of business?

@@TheAlphaAudio the link above does not work? Would be appreciated if you could share contact details. Thanks!
Supra, PureCable and 'maybe' Art Speak on top.👍
Wow. This is the first time in 35 years of being an audio nerd that I think I can hear a difference between cables. Thank you for this demo, it’s quite an eye opener!
Do you know if Art Speak are still in business? I’ve not been able to find a web site for them. Cheers!
The Alpha Audio..which usb cable you use or you can recommend?
I don't use USB at all... Not anymore. Only ethernet, AES and xlr. But if you have to choose... Audioquest carbon, shunyata Venom. Both very nice.
Uptone uspcb is good if you can live with its short size.
Whats the highest resolution optical can suppoert
You mean optical cable? That completely depends on the protocol. Spdif optical is offically 24/96, but of course it can go way higher with other protocols. Optical networking goes way higher... think of multiple gigabits per second, or even more than 100 gigabit per second.
So would my marantz streamer using spdif coax instead of my fiber optic going to my dac be a better option in sound? Plus would my streamer be a better option the using my laptop with a USB going direct to my dac? I'm using audio nirvana. What do you think?
@@shannonwilliams6623 that is way off topic. Can you send in An e-mail on www.alpha-audio.net? That way we can give it some more attention. Thank you.
Doen we... Goede tip
Vr gr

Hey you should take try do a review of a DIY kit (from speakerland, speaker&co or soundimports.nl for instance) and compare them to similar priced commercial speakers!
It would be very interesting to see the comparison. Building a kit would also be great content to stream and perfectly to do from home :)
Will check out the possibilities
Yeah....Art Speak Solid Core Silver.
