Not only a great film on it's own but an important one too. Bob Odernkirk suffered a heart attack more recently and he attributes surviving it from all the exercise he did in prep for this role. So this movie might have literally saved his life.

I really enjoyed, bought it on 4k disc.
One thing I love about the bus scene: Bob Odenkirk’s character gets hurt pretty badly as well, not just the bad guys. It adds a bit more realism and makes it feel like a normal fight. You can't just start a fight like that and expect to come out of it without a scratch.

@@thunderlighting2006 its kinda dumb to compare Shang Chi because its a superhero film so I give it a pass in the not getting touched department. I would say both are brilliant scenes.
Never have I thought I would see a badass, gun-wielding Dr. Emmett Brown in an action movie, but I’m all here for it. Best part in my opinion lmao 😂
The sniper rifle scenes were so dope. Don't know how they came up with close quarters choreography with a sniper rifle, so creative. That triple head shot, my mind immediately went to video game trophies as well.

I remember one time I was playing Solider of Fortune 2 MP with my clan - and I pulled off his multi kill single shot sniper dealie. It reminded me of it so much - especially since the Soldier of Fortune games were big on dismemberment lol
my fave moment is when he flips the rifle, shooting someone behind him, letting the recoil smash the butt into the face of the guy in front of him.
Definitely a Steam achievement. "Kill 3 enemies at the same time with a a single shot" 0.0005% of players have this achievement
I don't know there is a reversed clip, but when he first breaks the glass and shoots a couple of guys in the parking lot (22:01) the rifle he's using appears to be a left-hand bolt variant. The rest of the shots seem to be a right hand bolt variant.
The final fight felt a lot like an (even more) violent version of Home Alone

The director of this, Ilya Naishuller, also directed the first person perspective action movie Hardcore Henry, and also got his start directing first-person action music videos for his band, Biting Elbows, and still does I believe. The most recent ones I know of is the two part story music video they did, Heartache, and Control. Love his style, definitely recommend for anyone interested!
Did he also direct the music video for The Weeknd's 'False Alarm'?

Glad you reacted to this one. In my opinion one of the best movies of the last decade and it might even be the most enjoyable movie I have ever seen.
I usually have a bit of an issue with the term feel-good movie and I don't think this would categorize as one.
But hell, this was definately a Feel-Good movie for me.

RZA with the rifle had me losing my shit when I first watched this. That over the shoulder shot to hit the guy with the recoil was insane!
That was such a cool moment. The creativity with the action, while still feeling gritty and grounded, was absolutely amazing in this film.
I want a trilogy immediately!!! Very fun and very creative!!
The bus fight scene is about as close as I've ever seen to real life in an action movie. Even if you really know what you're doing you're probably not walking away without substantial injury.
Hence why I loved his character. I’m assuming he did all those stunts himself yeah?

23:16 is one of my favorite reactions from you, because my was my reaction as well, and this movie deserves these kind of reactions, because it's awesome.
It was also directed by Ilya Naishuller, who previously directed Hardcore Henry, which is another absolute banger of a movie (it's actually my all-time favorite movie) that you gotta check out some time.
As to the watch Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul first question- no doubt at all, gotta do BB first! You’d miss some of the masterful way BCS was created within the parameters of the universe BB put together! BB means so much more after watching BCS… both are top tier 🏆
I have been waiting for you to see this! This has instantly become a favorite movie of mine in terms of being able to rewatch after I first saw this.
I have to admit that I loved this the first time I saw it and watched it again the next day and loved just as much, 2 films that are definitely worth watching, that are a bit like a cross between "Nobody" and "The Expendables", are "RED" (2010) and "RED 2" (2013), Staring Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Richard Dreyfuss, Brian Cox, Anthony Hopkins and Karl Urban, action packed with a good dose of humour.
This movie was so underrated, just like the movie Upgrade, but such a great movie
Such a great movie. I like it far more than the Wick and Bourne movies because it's grittier, and feels a lot more realistic.
Another great one with similar action is Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner.
Just love this movie! More realistic fight scenes too. Laughed so hard during the bus scene! 😂❤

Two guys who tried to kill MCs dad actually Naishuller himself (on left) and musician Shnur (on right), leader of band Leningrad, for which Naishuller made a few music videos, he's also had cameo in Hardcore Henry
I finally watched this movie tonight. It's such a shame it wasn't marketed better because the only way I heard about it was through seeing everyone react to it. I figured I had to check it out and I was definitely not disappointed.
Off-Topic: TH-cam will never convince me to go "Ad-Free" when they make funny commercials with adorable meerkats that sound like Taika Waititi and weird dudes in kimonos.

it's the 'little' touches in the film that are such a joy: the smile on his face when he's in the car & the Pat Benetar music kicks in, & the slight high pitched inflection in the tattooist's voice when he realises Hutch must be a badass.! lol
Has no one mentioned that this movie is written by Derek Kolstad, who also writes for the John Wick franchise? A lot of the similar vibes and parallels/contrasts in Nobody must be on purpose.
And it also ends up a kickass and enjoyable movie! Loved seeing you have a good time with this. Now we wait for John Wick Chapter 4 🔪

This one was an instant classic for me and my family
I was a lighting tech in the city when this was filmed, and it's the only movie I've regretted not being able to work on.
You should check out some behind the scenes for this movie. Bob was definitely on some John Wick type of training for this movie. I love it when actors do most of the stunts and action scenes themselves. It really helps to sell the realism of the movie.

What I like about that fight scene on the bus is it is not one sided, like so many movie fight scenes. Both sides are taking punches and taking damage. It feels like a real fight.
You're reaction to the triple is the appropriate reaction I wanted because it was the exact reaction I had. This movie has so many of those "bro this shit is so cool a creative" moments.
Thank you for the comment about finishing your food! It annoys me so much that so many people in TV and Movies just get up and leave a full or half eaten plate. Even more annoying is how many just treat it as natural. At least in this one, he's pissed about it.
I loved the soundtrack in this movie so much and Bob odenkirk is a treasure guy can do it all
if you still can't get enough Odenkirk, you really should check out the show he did with David Cross: "Mr Show with Bob & David" -- just stellar, stellar comedy from a wide cast of "oh hey i didn't know they were in that!"

Yo there is this new show called "The Old Man" with Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow. Its kinda like Nobody but its a drama series so its more drawn out and plot heavy. but its dope.

One of my new favourite reactions, I've already seen the movie a couple times but your reactions got me just as hyped as you were lmao
Two things...
First, while the pillows obviously represented the "wall" between them, I don't think that was their intended practical purpose. There was a light shining through their window, possibly from an angle that drapes/shades/etc. couldn't block, that shone directly on Becca's face. I think the pillows were just meant to block the light, and then became representative of more in their relationship.
Second, I see this as an unofficial (sorta) sequel to Grosse Pointe Blank. I realize their "occupations" were slightly different, as well as many other plot points, but it feels like where you could see Martin and Debi 20 years later. 🤷♀️

Hutch and Wick are equally good at what they do. The difference is the Hutch LOVES doing what they do.

One of the things I love about this movie is how they do a good job of portraying the villain as a complete psycho without just saying he is, but then the hero turns out to be *way* crazier. And neither feels inauthentic.
Thing procedure he did to the kid on the bus is known as a tracheostomy, or. Trich. I learned how to perform it in while in training to be a Fmf naval Corpsmen.
I love this movie. It's tight, fun, and action packed.

The script was written by the same screenwriter [Derek Kolstad] who also wrote the first three John Wick films, he has stated this movie takes place in the same world (although the films are done by different studios so probably no crossover, but stranger things have happened).
Awesome! This is such an under-known and under-appreciated movie.
Also, about the John Wick comparison: "Derek Kolstad (who wrote the two movies) says both films exist in the same universe."
I don't really enjoy gratuitous violence but I absolutely gratuitously loved this! Bob's the boss! Such an energetic reaction from you 😂 this is like Home Alone meets the SAS

I loved this film. The final battle in the workplace was a little over the top but by that time I was enjoying the movie so much I loved it even more because of it. Just a fun movie. Another movie I enjoyed almost as much as this was Shoot'em Up with Clive Owen, its an over the top movie that knows it's over the top and is extremely enjoyable to watch.
I don't know if you've already seen it, but you should watch "The Man from Nowhere", a Korean movie from 2010 which basically laid the foundation for films like this, the "Taken" and the "John Wick" series of movies. I believe the director of the "John Wick" movies was inspired by that movie.
That's how you do an action movie. It is awesome
A few notes of my own... Nobody tells his son to let the guy go not because he fears the burglars but because he fears leaving this life and going back to who he was. As weird as it sounds, he was actually kind of happy being miserable and mediocre. The bus scene is so good not just because the choreography and editing, but because it shows how he goes from rusty to remembering all his old skills - he visibly gets better at fighting during the fight.
Pretty sure it's also because he could see the gun wasn't loaded so they weren't a real threat so not worth causing a fuss over.
Good popcorn flick. Plus it was cool seeing Michael Ironside in a film again. Blink and you'll miss him.
There’s also a mid-credit scene that is pretty funny if you haven’t seen it. I was hoping you’d show it as well but I guess nobody warned you about it. I really enjoyed this movie though. I’m curious who called him when he and his wife were house shopping? Maybe setting up for a sequel where the rest of the Russian mob, or maybe another group affiliated with them, comes after him or something? They left that open ended by not letting us hear the call and not having him say anything. I wouldn’t mind a sequel though, especially if it’s as good as this was!

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are a MUST! A Filmmakers Wet Dream.
The portrayal of the main character (besides having Mr. Lloyd in it and the action) is what really made this movie much more enjoyable. It's pretty much what made the Bourne movies more enjoyable. That is to NOT have the main hero some roided out bastard who can bench press a bus, who's wearing 15 layers of plot armor to keep them form any serious injury, but instead to have a guy who is just a guy. Who doesn't have size or strength advantage over his opponents, but is cunning and resourceful to make up for it.
Could you imagine the DeLorean coming back from time and Doc Brown coming out of the car with a shotgun blasting bad guys?! Lol yeah, this movie is too much fun. That sounds sadistic but you know
Relating to the breakfast foods thing, its SUPER RARE for people to say goodbye on the telephone in shows/movies too!

They need to make a movie that has Him and John Wick team up. That would be amazing.
Same director as Hardcore Henry - I highly recommend it watching it here.
Also, same cinematographer as Hereditary and Midsommar. I love this film's OST, some genuinely incredible jazz as well as some good ambient and metal tracks.

As much as I enjoy John Wick, I love the motivations of this character way more. It's literally the Anti-John Wick story.
Also, I love all the little visual gags the director carried over from Hardcore Henry. His voice still shines through here. I can't wait for what he does next.

@@MamadNobari Well one guy wants to live a normal life and is dragged back in the craziness against his will, and the other guy successfully made the transition to normalcy only to realize that he actually loved his old lifestyle, and proceeds to go out of his way to find trouble.
I find the later more interesting/entertaining.
This film is supposed to be taking place in the same universe as John Wick, The old timer who said thank you for your service. I couldn’t stop thinking about the high table in the three John Wick films. Serving the high table perhaps when he was auditing?
Probably the best mix of Home Alone, First Blood and Leon the Professional I've ever seen :D

If you're in a group and dude empties his gun and says he's still going to f*** you up... I think it's just better to leave. He either really can do it or he's completely insane. And the latter might be even scarier.
