I protest voted Libertarian in 2020. Voted Trump this year because it was an even better protest vote, even though it does somewhat prop up the two party system.
All the pro status quo normies I know have gone dead silent and no longer want to discuss politics anymore. They were so sure Kamala was going to win because "every person supports abortion, immigration and LGBT rights". Reality has hit them hard.
It does seem to me like everyone I knew just went very quiet after the election, which I do find unusual. They're the type to follow US politics and criticize Trump every chance they get.
The propaganda runs so deep, I have multiple Christian female friends who are worried about their abortion “rights” and who have called their friends bad Christians for showing any sort of support for Trump. We live in Canada.
The belief that life begins at conception is one of Christianity's core beliefs. You literally can't be a Christian if you don't believe that. Your friends have been led astray or were possibly never true believers to begin with.

It's not that hard to understand why things ended how they did. Trump addressed many issues most American's gave a crap about, Inflation, The Cost of Living, Foreign Conflicts, Increased Crime, etc. And he appealed to the average American through gestures like working at Mcdonald's, operating a Garbage Truck or driving in it and showing his capabilities as a leader by attending multiple rallies, interviews and not flinching in the face of assassins. Kamala basically only focused on Abortion, which most people were sick of hearing about, and attacking Trump any chance she got, while only attending interviews that were heavily scripted and focusing on getting endorsements from Celebrities who don't give a shit if the price of goods go up and are painfully out of touch with reality. Really you only have to look at their respective Campaigns, Trump ended his with 30 Million still in the tank while Kamala raised over a 1 Billion and by the end of 10 Weeks, was in the hole for 20 Million. Pretty obvious why Trump won and Kamala got her asskicked.
Not only that, he proved himself to be an American wit a sense of humor, that wants the best for America. All Harris talked about is obvious bs about fascism and killing babies
I've been saying this for a long time. We are in an equivalent state to when the printing press became widely accessible in Europe and America, so you had everyone and their uncle settling up newspapers sharing their point of view or providing pamphlets. Only instead of printing presses and newspapers, we have computers and youtube/independent news sites. We have blogs instead of pamphlets. People CAN educate themselves widely and independently and find like minds that agree with them again. This isn't a new pattern but it took time to develop thanks to the sheer speed of the new tech being updated and adapted.
The biggest change is that for a long time the state has steamrolled those sources of information with biased propaganda in their favor, and done their best to use companies and private entitles to shut out new blood from taking bites out of the propaganda mill with unbiased information. What happened in the 90s and 2000s also wasn't unique, it was a show that the slow bureaucratic process can't keep up with advancing technologies and culture in the moment. What is unique about this over the printing press is, as you said, speed; Not just speed, but reach. Never before has any culture has such unfiltered access, across such broad and reaching groups of people from everywhere in the world as we have now... To me, that's what has really helped unsettle the powers that be, they were caught pants down off-guard by something that moves at light speed and connects anyone and everyone far and wide outside the reach of any one of their reaches they can't cooperate long enough or fast enough to stop it; as much as they have shuttered the unregulated freedom of the internet from 30 years ago, enough of us have grown up with the internet as a tool and as an integral part of our lives that it's just harder for anyone that isn't a brainwashed zombie to justify basically silencing the internet "for your safety" Makes me Glad Trump seems to at least have some ideal of what needs to be done to regulate tech companies and end the incest relationship between the US Fed. Gov. and tech companies; allowing the state to side-step the first and silence decent through the "terms of service" guidelines of a private corporation. Needless to say, that needs to be ended, and everyone doing it punished harshly. One last thing; just imagine the world we'd have today if in the 70s and 80s, the US Government had decided to keep the internet a purely military technology...
@@kraKowD Thanks, big history buff here and a lot of what we're going through reminds me of examples in history like Cassius Clay setting up his newspaper and how common it was to do then, or even years before with the French revolution. This is an information age with a lot of options, but the key part of that is that you need to be willing and able to seek out that information yourself now, as the legacy media/mainstream media is far too centralized and tied to the other estates. The downside to the freedom of information and self education we have is that it is ALSO up to us to make sure we aren't just making our own echo chamber or seeking confirmation bias, so that in and of itself can be seen as another test of our ability to not only effectively seek out wisdom, but know it well enough to find it..
The printing press orders of magnitude greater. The printing press opened it up to the middle class. The Internet opened it up to much of the planet. The Arab Spring was our modern German Peasant's War/War of Snails, imo.
@@NevisYsbryd True, i wasn't trying to speak to orders of magnitude but the scope is definitely far greater for good AND ill as we've seen on social media. I also can't fault the Arab spring with the example of one of the many german peasant wars that were waged. It ties back to another comparison i've made in that the modern Unions are almost perfect copies of the renaissance guilds in not only scope/focus, but their structures, their money making methods their reticent to new technology that could disrupt their monopolies. Same for the modern 'megacorps' being very strong parallels to the major trading companies like the East India Trading companies. While a less perfect comparison, I do feel that globalism has merely been a redressing of Mercantilism and that is why many issues have developed in what SHOULD be a largely capitalist society. Hells, the USA was in part founded due to the east india trading company literally lobbying the british government to ADD the tea tax to the list of taxes being put on the colonies to take advantage of the situation.

Do you like 30% of small businesses going defunct because of the lock downs? Do you like having to pay $5 to $7 dollars per gallon of gas? Do you like the price of your grocery bills tripling? Do you like fretting about not knowing if you'll have enough to pay for food, rent/mortgage, and energy at the end of every month? Do you like an economy so bad that the government tried to change the definition of "recession" to pretend we haven't been in one since 2022? Do you like over 10,000,000 illegal border crossings (a number higher than the population of 40 out of 50 states)? Do you like that 300,000 children have gone missing? Do you like there being enough fentanyl trafficked into the United States to kill one tenth of the population? Do you like crime rates in big cities being so high that the state stopped prosecuting them to make crime rates appear lower? Do you like foreigners getting hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars while hurricane victims get a paltry $750 _LOAN?_ Now, be honest with yourself... _Did any of these things happen while Donald Trump was the president?_ Over seventy-five million Americans have one answer for all those questions: *no.* They all happened under the Biden administration. *That's why Harris, vice president of the Biden administration, **_lost._*

5:24 the frieza vs krillin comparison was funny cringe, but could've just been an out of context joke in an otherwise thoughtful conversation. What really gives me a bad impression of this guy is the part afterwards where someone offstage disagrees with him and he calls the guy cringe, tells him to leave, and then seemingly dips into a rant about how he hates it when people disagree with him.

Actually Freiza was the antagonist (and an all-around bad person). Plus, as mentioned, him transforming himself into more powerful bodies didn't save him, he still lost. In the years since, he has been repeatedly revived, only to get pathetically slapped down each time. I have no idea why Destiny thought it was a flattering comparison.
@jerrycan1756 Its an apt comparison. The new bodies are each swamp creature candidate the gov has rolled out. Trump isn’t running against harrris. She’s merely an avatar of evil

the dirty secret about courting women voters by saying "it'll be like the handmaids tale!" is they don't think of the plot, think they'll be June, its like saying "it'll be the hunger games!" they think that means they'll be Katniss, not stuck in district 12. She rarely even committed to policy on any given issue. I was amazed watching her interviews just how little she she actually said despite talking endlessly.
If there's one thing about this that bugs me, it's the "sheep" thing. No, not the fact that there _are_ people who blindly follow orders and do what they're told... ok, that _does_ bug me, but that's not my point right this second. I mean the whole "sheep = mindless follower" trope. It comes, rather famously, from The Bible, where "sheep" are a metaphor for Christ's followers. The problem is that the meaning of this expression got lost somewhere in translation, as the biblical allusion being made here is just about the exact opposite of the sheep meme. It's practically next-of-kin to the "money is the root of all evil" misconception, though I'd say "judge not" is also up there. The reference most people are thinking of comes from Isaiah 53:6 (later quoted in 1 Peter 2:25), reading that "all we, like sheep, have gone astray." ...Huh. Sure doesn't _sound_ like mindless followers. Sounds more like _cats,_ if you ask me. The idea is that sheep are particularly stupid animals. They have this nasty tendency to wander off, invariably becoming strays that get picked off by wily predators, and that's when they don't meander off the edge of a cliff and break their legs... *then* get picked off by predators. Being good economists around here, we all recognize that this actually makes sheep and the ability to properly shepherd them _highly_ valuable, as the less sheep there are (culled by their own natural stupidity), the more valuable the survivors become. So the _actual_ message behind calling people sheep is that they're _comically_ self-destructive creatures, and yet are still highly prized and fiercely protected by their shepherd. While the sheep never become _smart_ per se, let alone the blind followers that the meme would lead you to believe, the shepherd is the one who's _really_ doing all the work. The doctrinal metaphor speaks for itself, I think. This has virtually nothing to do with your larger point. It's just that this particular piece of memetic illiteracy sticks in my teeth every single time I hear it.
i think it's another instance of a saying out-growing it's original context. like how "woke" used to mean aware of what's happening, or sophist used to mean "wise-one." people following the cathedral into the slaughterhouse because they "know what's best for them" instead of straying off and living dangerously, but at least free, is an inversion of it's original meaning.
A lot of herding animals display a tendency to stop thinking and just follow the butt in front of them when panicked. This is the behavior specifically referenced by the trope. Lemmings are another one in common literary use, though usually in a much more negative context. That one is more absurd as they have never shown the cliff jumping behavior they are so well known for. I hadn't thought about the biblical reference before, so that makes sense for sheep instead of an animal that displays the trait more strongly, like cattle.
Congrats on getting 75k and being so close to 100k!
Ngl this is the most accurate, unique and intelligent take I have ever seen in a youtube comment section.
To me, that's what has really helped unsettle the powers that be, they were caught pants down off-guard by something that moves at light speed and connects anyone and everyone far and wide outside the reach of any one of their reaches they can't cooperate long enough or fast enough to stop it; as much as they have shuttered the unregulated freedom of the internet from 30 years ago, enough of us have grown up with the internet as a tool and as an integral part of our lives that it's just harder for anyone that isn't a brainwashed zombie to justify basically silencing the internet "for your safety"
Makes me Glad Trump seems to at least have some ideal of what needs to be done to regulate tech companies and end the incest relationship between the US Fed. Gov. and tech companies; allowing the state to side-step the first and silence decent through the "terms of service" guidelines of a private corporation.

Do you like foreigners getting hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars while hurricane victims get a paltry $750 _LOAN?_

I would love if you went over more of the psychological/sociological aspects of the election. That tiny little blurry edge where people look at a piece of propaganda, and flat-out believe it to be true, is forever fascinating, but you understandably go over this to talk about the larger scale.
There's also a voter block that votes for the underdog because it makes them feel like their vote helped win.
F.D.A. video request day 20! Ty for the video.
I'm not american, but I was sure Trump would win because mainstream media was saying that "there were no clear favorites" and that both had a 50% chance, so you know they weren't confident enough to lie to say that Kamala would win
I don't think a ban on murder counts as infringement.
My Uni immediately sent a cope email to the student body talking about how the campus remains a place of inclusion lol
(A place of oppression against normal people)
Lets hope they don't revolt like they did 160 years ago to protect there free labor.
Also can you discuss this new rise of monarchist sentiment.
operation dark brandon is a GO!
Brother I know we don’t speak French in this country but that pronunciation of Des Moines was painful lol. Managed to make it sound Spanish
I would love to see a vaush and hasan saga about the election
Both are coping and seething from Trump win.
Please do a video on Chase Oliver, his 2024 campaign and why he did so terrible in this election.
Chase Oliver is not a real Libertarian, total trash. The Libertarian Party dropped the ball this time.
the mc tried to get a nota nomination to be the kingmakers of this election. oliver ran unopposed because he disagreed with the mc's goals. he ended up ensuring their goals, though. it's not the lp's fault that he was such a terrible candidate.
people are finally understanding that the bureaucratic/ managerial complex s the root of our problems. Finally.

Not sure what a mentis is, but me.
She mentis on my wave till I view
I'm a Californian who lives in the Palm Springs/Coachella Valley area, I'm a former liberal who left the left in 2020 and voted for Trump/Republican all the way down ballot. A lot of moderates and normies are fed up with what the Dems have done to this state, I think California has a shot at going Red when Newsom runs for reelection. My county, Riverside county, flipped Red this year and has been Blue for a long time.
the dirty secret about courting women voters by saying "it'll be like the handmaids tale!" is they don't think of the plot, think they'll be June, its like saying "it'll be the hunger games!" they think that means they'll be Katniss, not stuck in district 12.
This is also why they play dress up in the costumes after they lose, it makes a protest that's not supposed to be all about them all about them again for 15 seconds while someone takes a picture
One thing to point out is that every toss up from 270 to win went to trump
Was waiting for your take. Excellent analysis
Your Mad King Says: Leave the candy corn alone!
Not much to explain, you dropped that one song and it mobilized everyone.
im often stuck between "kamala might have policy outside of copying trump's im not seeing because im in a bubble" and "they literally dont have much good points if at all and dem voters THINK she will just push generic democrat party talking points in general which they agree with more than generic rep talking points".
i lean towards the ladder.
She rarely even committed to policy on any given issue. I was amazed watching her interviews just how little she she actually said despite talking endlessly.
+1 for core Rev gameplay
I've been here for around a year or so, I hope to see your voice and other libertarian youtubers start replacing breadtubers with actual ideas and not just "this bad because me say so".
And congrats on the Trump victory, hopefully someone can be more free market in the next upcoming elections.
Oh and a question I do have, will you make a video on Unlearning Economics?
We haven't seen a woman beaten this badly by a man since the Olympics.
She was an awful candidate. She had to change or hide nearly every position she had to be in the Overton window; she didn’t win a delegate the last time she ran; she was or was very close to having the lowest approval rating for a VP EVERY, and she’s one of the least charismatic politicians to run for office.
