The new splatfest theme from the upcoming game Splatoon 3 has been released, and it is very much a bop. Along with the theme they revealed the new idols, Shiver, Frye and Big Man and I love every single one of them. They're so great omg.
Splatoon's soundtrack has always been golden and one of my favourite. It's the reason that "fictional squid music" is on my favourite music genres list. Anarchy Rainbow has earned it's spot for me right next the Calamari Inkantation and Into The Light. I've only ever played Splatoon 1 but plan on getting a switch to play 3 :D
Based on a composition by Toru Minegishi, Shiho Fujii, and Ryo Nagamatsu.

If Nintendo makes a Splatoon 3 movie, this should be in the trailer.
The song rises in the air as the lone inkling stands upon the cliff holding a mighty broadsword as he stares down the massive hydra before him as Deep cut is chanting for them to cut the beast down. This is the beginning of a hero. The tale of a legend.
That’s what I pictured as I heard this haha. I love it!
Plus deep cut (besides big ma) are canon to be ancient deities that saved the splatlands from chaos (and yes it is actually true and kind of hinted at in sunken sea scroll) so makes sense

POV: All three of Deep Cut members find themselves stuck on a deserted island and have to do their best to survive until someone finds them and bring them back home. Fortunately, they all brought something useful with them: Shiver brought gears that will help them, Frye brought food to have something they can eat in case the food on the island isn't edible, and Big Man brought games, some things to have fun and keep a good mood. All of them works together to survive on this unknown island, they stay here for several days and nights, until, finally, someone find them and bring them home. After this experience, they become closer than ever!

Now this was a fun song. Love the festive vibe, it just makes you wanna dance. I'm probably gonna put this on loop and and just party away. 🥳 this also seemed tad bit different (almost experimental) from your other works and it turned out splendidly good job as always.

Oh also random idea (and you probably have a ton on your plate as is) I remembered how you mentioned before you were branching out with music I might have a song you could look at (possibly doing a "kalamity" version of) its Vegeta's final flash theme from dragon ball z. It similar to how you do music.

This feels like if you grab a asian + symphonic orchestra and add romanticism and samba percussions.
Good hybrid orchestra, you make some of the best interpretation with your obvious touch. Also good reverb and choir.

Final Boss in Splatoon 4 (the Maniac Mad Scientist Inkling)
While the Teoran Queen (as an Inkling), was battling into the final boss katana to a katana (the Octopyreus Inktana models) clashing into the final fight while Deep cut, Off the Hook, and Squid Sisters helping support as they sing for the Teoran Queen inkling.
POV: you're in a secret godly boss fight against: Frye and her Octostomp of Eels, Shiver and her shark, Master Mega, and Big Man with his Big Man clones.
Perfect music for that type of boss fight.

This theme seems to have a lot of chinese instrument mixed into, which is even better to listen
