This was the speech I gave 9/11/2010 for my paretns 40th Anniversary. And yes, unfortunately, I cried all the way through it!! Good thing was...so did most of the people there, except my parents! Enjoy.
Thank You. Can't believe I cried after the first sentence! UGH. But by the end the whole room was crying. I looked on TH-cam at videos also and liked this format. I sat down and wrote it including my own personal experiences. I am blessed enough to have grown up with 2 wonderful parents. It's the little things in life that make it special! My parents remain committed & stuck with each other through thick & thin & were loyal, hardworking, loving, generous, kind, committed, & faithful in every department to each other. It's just hard to find couples like your parent, naw, & like my parents. I'm not going to give a speech. But I have treated them with many good gifts & deeds this year every week this year & they have appreciated it, & there will be more celebration today. Thank you for sharing your video. (cont.)

For people to be married 40 years is a testament to how strong the foundation of their commitment, love, partnership, union was to each other & to you & your sibling. Like you, I have a sibling. tell me how special it is how strong, how lovely & in love, how committed & special my parents are. Because these days many couples get divorced or don't try hard or don't put in the hard work to keep partnership & marriage strong or have good values, etc. My parents have honestly rarely had any problems in their marriage. No cheating. No abandoning when my Mom had all her surgeries & health scares.(cont.)
Well, Thank You so Much. I looked at a bunch of different speeches to parents and modeled it after some of that content and then personalized the speech. I threw them a surprise party with about 40 of their friends also, so they were shocked all the way around! Just sorry I started getting choaked up right at the beginning!
