    I'd highly recommend the night sail with a cabin.
    Board the ship & drop any gear you may have to your room, then to the bar for a couple of beverages then to dinner. Couple more beverages then back to the room for a shower & bed. Wake up fresh the next morning at your destination. Perfect!!! 👌🏻

    Whatever happened to the a la carte restaurant that the Spirit used to have? It was a great way to spend the evening. Now you have to queue up at an overcrowded cafeteria and get out of there as quickly as possible. Very down-market.

    Holly Alexander and her dog Ester were on the ferry on Monday, travelling from the island as part of Ms Alexander's move to Queensland.
    At midnight during the crossing, she was notified that her Doberman rottweiler cross Ester, 2, had gone missing.
    "I had put my dog in a kennel and checked it twice to make sure that the door was shut," Ms Alexander explained in a post on social media.
    "I was woken up at midnight to one of the security guards telling me that she had escaped and they had been trying to find her but had no luck," she said.

    Dear Spirit of Tasmania, what is the situation concerning pets on the new ferry?
    Can I bring my small companion pet with me? and will he be allowed in my cabin?

    • @paddy8391
      @paddy8391 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Isaac Storm so I am allowed to bring my pet?
      Are you saying they have to be put in allocated pet kennels on the ferry and well looked after?

    Looks pretty good to me. Why taste money on unnecessary overseas trips when we already live in paradise? Australian tourists should be supporting our own tourist industry, not foreign ones. I am an immigrant from Europe but have never left Australia since arriving as a babe in arms and would only travel overseas if I had to, never just for leisure. Why go there when we have it all here? Oh, and no need to associate with people of different cultures. Just go to Melbourne if you like the 'foreign cultures' stuff. It's all there. No need to waste money and suffer discomforts, inconvenience, take personal safety risks abroad for it. You can be bashed, murdered, robbed, mugged etc by foreign gangs right here in Melbourne, so no need to go to London or New York or China or Africa or India etc to have the ultimate travel 'experience' to open up your mind and show you what the world is all about. But, I might take a trip to Tassie, or the Aussie outback. To Escape from the world for a while and really enjoy life. I like the wide open spaces and empty, people free distances of Australia. Whether by sea or inland. And the fact that real Aussie (typically rural origin ones) respect this need for space and privacy and peace, quiet etc when travelling.

    On my last trip on Spirit of Tasmania I enjoyed all but the cost of meals etc in the Bistro. A tremendous rip off of passengers. On the return we brought our own meal and enjoyed the trip much more. Cabins are tiny without a great deal of comfort. Early rise for disembarkment and then two hours in the queue waiting for clearance through customs agriculture. What a waste of our time and not a good example of our time in Tassie. All of this said what a wonderful holiday which could have been made better by passenger friendly meal costs and passenger friendly entry to Tasmania.

    • @renlim303
      @renlim303 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anything else you want to whinge about? The prices of the meals etc are very reasonable, if you disagree, you really do need to get out more, no perhaps just stay home and whinge about your long suffering neighbours.

    • @2631salwood
      @2631salwood 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Seriously? Did you expect that each and every vehicle was going to board and disembark at the same time? Surely you understand the concept that they need to be loaded onto the vessel and this takes time? It is the same with boarding any vessel anywhere - bus, trains, planes - everyone doesn’t get on all at once at the same time. We Tasmanians take the welfare of our beautiful state very seriously. If people are not happy about the going through customs checks, well too bad. The state is free of so many of the problems the mainland has because we have such stringent checks and we’d like to keep it that way. Personally, I don’t think the checks are stringent enough. We have just come back on the Spirit, arriving home this morning. We paid $27.50 per person for the bistro meal which included dessert, soft drinks and tea/coffee, for which you could go back for refills and more food. Did you really think this was too much to pay? Be thankful you were able to take your own food and drink on your return voyage. Other vessels would not. People need to realise that the Spirit of Tasmania is a ferry, not a luxury cruise ship.

    • @dougbarker3019
      @dougbarker3019 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the meals are a rip-off and the whole process for disembarking is badly timed.
