Gives meaning to the phrase “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should” lol. Whew! Glad you were there to return the floor to the natural wood.

Hi @quicksand flooring. I started watching your videos a month ago, opened a business and i have my first client now and I did my first project so good that even the person who hired my company was amazed🙏🏾❤️💯 all thanks to your videos😂❤.
I mostly sand as you advised in one of the other videos, to sand diagonally across the floor.
Zola all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦
Maybe I'll open a channel myself.

This drawing on the floor reminded me of the video where a robot vacuum cleaner smeared a pile of shit that a dog had dumped on the floor.

It would drive me crazy to see the paint in between the boards! Is there no tool to make that possible to remove???

I could maybe see painting 1 solid color if floors needed to be refinished, but money wouldn't allow it. But, that 'pattern' looked terrible. Busy, and dirty. Thank goodness it could be saved.

@@christinec8818But... I could also see how somebody first decided on bright and modern off-white. Only to then discover, after the painting having been done, that on a very light even color _you get to see every scuff and mark from dark rubber shoe soles._

Thank God you found great wood! There are times that I look at something for a while trying to understand, but end of shaking my head and muttering “some people’s kids!” under my breath….. this is one of those times.

I can understand what the owners were trying to do. Just look at the room where those floors are. The wall has a crazy pattern to it as well. They wanted to make a statement n they did. It fit them

I still see the paint in the cracks between the boards. Is it even possible to get the paint out from between the boards? It looks tons better but that small detail irks me.

It could be scraped out with dental tools but I’m sure it’s time consuming.

I have dumb question - if the floor is done like that, it means that wood is completely sealed? I ask as servant of 5 cats...I love wood but I have everywhere tiles or linoleum (PVC I think) because of cleaning bodily fluids in every kind, consistence and placing...

Beautiful job! As a painting contractor, D.I.Y. homeowner and restorer, your sanders are slightly better than the ones I rent.. By about 1000%. Isn't it satisfying to actually see the work you do vs. pushing paper or clicking a computer screen?

When you plan to use all of the 5 litre loquid from big bottle do a small hole at the handle so the air can escape. It will be easier to pour and quicker too😊

Also works well to turn that kind of jug so the opening is at the top position while pouring, that way air always has a way in.

My husband & I did a space that was 4x that size and hallways. We bought a floor nail set tool that we used a hammer with that put the nails in at an angle from the tongue side. The only place we had surface nails was the edge boards.

The before look reminds me of what someone did to their floors and walls to hide the fact that they never cleaned. They didn't even own a broom.
I first thought that the black paint was tire tracks from a mountain bike.

Or just get a graining tool and do it decently if there's a tight budget, an area rug would cost less than all that product. Looks like a pinterest faux finish gone horribly pear shaped.

It gets fastened to a belt that you wear around your waist - gives you more control over the machine and you can use more of your body weight and pulling the machine backward 👍🏻

The original look was horrible, but what lies underneath is nothing special. "Tasmanian Oak" is not oak at all but rather a mishmash of three different Eucalypt species, and not high grade timber.
