    Thank you so much for posting all your BBC Radio 4 recordings , especially the ones with Nick Clarke, it is Immensely good to be able to hear Nicks voice again. Cheers

    Remember hearing the news on World Service. Was in Belgium on Erasmus exchange at the time. All the UK students there felt a terrible sense of loss.

    Very rare to use Big Ben chimes which where only used at 6pm and 12am.

    I remember this well I was of course sad for the man's family - but within 30 seconds I thought wow we can have Tony Blair and Labour will win the next election -That happened but if it was so wonderful is now not so clear

      5888max John Smith would have been a great Prime Minister.Integratory,Intelligence,humour and brilliance.

      John Smith would have won in 1997 anyway. Ok so maybe it would not have be as huge as Blair's 179 seat majority but it still would have been a majority of at least 100.
