The most powerful "standard" non-AMG W201 model comes in the form of the 190E 2.6 with its 2.6L inline 6 M103.940 engine taken straight out of the W124 260E and the W126 260SE, and it's smooth.

The designs of Bruno Sacco were revolutionary and the epitome of restrained elegance.
This car is simply stunning. It's rare to see a W201 that pristine here in the ph.
Yeah sadly a lot of these are just molested or downright run down nowadays.
Can’t agree more with Bruno Sacco’s designs
@@KyleLiongCars I definitely agree kyle, it's such a pity to see neglected Mercs.
Btw i remembered a few months ago you were about to review a ponton, did it go through?
It’s still on the list but haven’t had the time to go to the owner’s place yet :(
@@KyleLiongCars Ohh okay hehe, no worries kyle :)
Hard to believe it was launched 40 years ago. Understatedly handsome. Great vid to put out for its significant birth year
Sometimes, older things are simply better
@@KyleLiongCars tru with pianos also🎹🎶
What’s even more amusing is the existence of an inline-6 at the time. when in fact, the LC300 doesn’t even have it. Nahiya ang 80’s benz 🤯🙄😈🤨
Great car! I have 3. Lots of mechanical similarities between W124 and W201. 2.6 provides much better power than the 4's. Underrated and FUN.
Man I can’t imagine maintaining 3 hahaha! I already have enough on my hands with my single 124 hahaha! Congrats!
What's the difference between the 2.6 and 2.6 Sportline? I'm new to 190Es and need help before purchasing :)
@@johnprescott7389 Basically: suspensions (lower/stiffer); more direct steering box; sports (recaro) seats front & rear; diff (I think); smaller steering wheel. I think that is all. I am no expert. But I think the Sportline is basically the same as the Cosworth, but with the 2.6 engine. IMHO, an under stressed 2.6 6 is better than a buzzy 4. But in my country, they all want to Cosworth, but they are very very rare. I am not sure what they call those types.
I just picked up a 1990 190e with the 2.6 for $200. 98,000 miles. Sitting for last 3 years
Absolutely gorgeous, eventhough that this car is wayback in 1992, it is still elegant as it was back in the day 👍🤤
Cars were just made and designed different back then. I love them
Wow immaculate condition, so well taken care of= simply irresistible, definitely a head turner.
Absolutely beautiful
This was imported in the Philippines in 2002 based from the reg. plate. So it was just 10 years old when the owner brought us here.
Rare item the w201 with m103 engine is very rare
yes
Just picked one up for $200 with about 98,000 miles
Thank you for reviewing the 2.6 I own a 1989 black 190e . Not enough reviews on that model .
Yep few people give them attention
KLIE I TOTALLY ENJOY YOUR REVIEW OF THIS INCREDIBLE 190 E 2.6 LOVE IT-& IT SHOWS YOU KNOW YOUR BENZES.-WOW. WELL DONE
Thanks so much!
Nice Review. All the best Kyle
Thanks
I love the fact that w201 and w124 are revered around the world. It just shows that "showy" and "fancy" doesn't age as well as "well made and thought through".
Yep!! :D
Great review indeed. Congrats man. Love this Mercs. Got to get one soon.
Thanks
Great Review. Its was my dream car in the early 80's when the baby benz first launched. 40 yeara later i finally got myself a 190e. 2.6. I fitted my baby benz with 18 inch lorinzer d 93 . quite the bad ass .
Thanks
What is the 18inch lorinzer are those rims?
@@AlonSOAMAZING yes they are Rims.
wow, pristine example of a baby benz! Nice review as well
Thank you
Great Review!
Thanks!
Great review nicely shot and lots of knowledge on the range lovely car too. Well done enjoyed that 👍
Thanks
Totally agree, well edited, peppily scripted, great videography. Ditto 'enjoyed that'.👍😎
I don’t write scripts hahaha! Thanks though :)
great review! I love my 1990 190E-2.6 that I have here in the US. it’s my 5th W201. currently on the lookout for a W124 300E or 400E.
Thank you! I'd love to get myself a 190E too. Currently have a 300E 2.6 USV W124
@@KyleLiongCars nice! my family used to have a W124 300D and 300TE Wagon, over 20 years ago. very smooth and reliable vehicles. I used to drive the 300D (turbo diesel) for quite a while and raced a Ford Mustang on the freeway. the Mustang never had a chance! check out my TH-cam channel and you can see my black 190E on one of my latest shorts.
Hahaha amazing! I’ll check it out. Cheers
I had a w124 90 300e and a 95 E420.. big difference! I'm considering a 93 190e 4 cylinder on eBay.. but really want to get an 2003- 2006 E320. Can't go wrong with a Mercedes. Timeless styling!
Hello is there anything to look out on this year model ? 1990 190e 2.6?
I just bought one and i need few suggestions!
Thanks (:
great review, i own an slk230 an imaculate 190e 2.3 8v 68km a 300ce and a 260e in the middle of restorations love the sacco cars!!
Congrats
Ang ganda. Grabe! This, your Benz and the W114 are my faves.
Thanks
Great review. Thank you.
Thanks too
Great review
Thanks
Excellent review. I’ve never seen the wood on the doors before. Is the wood aftermarket additions on the door panels?
I think they’re original
nice car, nice review as always.
Thanks!
Nice review :)
I’m actually driving a 1990 one as a daily for now 😅
Cool name👍🎹🎶
Thanks
No idea haha sorry
Big drinker although
I have one 1990 2.6 too recently bought it 😁
The lolo of the C class...classic...timeless :)
It started well :)
Damals: Ein Mercedes wie ein Mercedes wie ein Mercedes.
Heute: Ein Mercedes wie eine Reisschüssel wie eine Reisschüssel.
Nice car boi!
I love it
Hi from Ireland there's a 1987 2.6 in my local scrap yard I'll see about it later quite rare in Ireland most were diesel used as taxis
Don’t get them from the scrapyard. Look for a nice 190E and swap in an M103 instead hehe
Be sure to check the jacking points, they can rust badly behind the plastic sill covers and sometimes even the floor and also the rear subframe mounts can rot out. Could be expensive to weld but it may be worth it on a 2.6 as they're not that common. The 6 pot sounds particularly glorious.
Still beautiful😍 even with its age
Agree
Off course you have enough space in the leg room 😂😛😀 Great review, superb 2.6 190 in immaculate condition. Usually USA spec are the best, just need change of ugly head lamps. Greetings from Poland
Thanks :)
Hey bro review the W164 from 2010 ML-350
You have one available for testing?
Planning to restore my lolas old model. How much do you think it would cost to restore a 190e like this?
Depends on the condition eh. Prepare no less than 500K for a semi-full restoration. Can go way higher that than pa.
I still remember, that the old school Mercedes-Benz 190E for a lot of more vehicles for the dealership.
But it's been a while for along time ago for the old school Mercedes-Benz 190E Evolution Sport AMG for the Future.
I have this Mercedes B model , been sitting in yard for three years. It’s in poor condition.
How can I obtain a value for this
1989 190e 2.6 4D ?
Marketplace :)
I like the boxiness, dameng space sa loob haha. How would you compare the ride quality with today’s midsize sedans?
Yeah boxy Benzes are great. Also love the fact that even the lower end Mercedes-Benzes had the hood star back then🎹🎶
Compared to modern mid sized sedans, the ride on these are definitely firmer
@@KyleLiongCars could it possibly be the suspension that needs replacement? old cars are known to be very comfy and those wheels are too small too. what model year was this bro?
The 190E was supposed to be the nimble, more youthful alternative to the comfy and plush riding bigger Mercs so it makes sense that the ride quality will be a bit “worse” than the bigger Mercs. Also, we’re comparing it kasi to a modern midsize sedan, so basically like Camry na. This is the same size lang as a Vios or maybe a bit smaller pa. Wheelbase is also shorter making the ride less compliant
@@KyleLiongCars agreed. i was prolly still out somewhere in the vastness of space when this came out haha. yes short wheelbase and a sporty suspension set-up are what would ruin the plushness of its ride, if at all it’s plush 🤔
Very nice car for me
Same thoughts
How much is the cars
Not for sale :(
please what is the prize of this car because i want to buy it
Not for sale

For sale? Hehe nice car kyle!
Unfortunately not
Is it vaccum operated transmission?
That I’m not sure
@@chonky2275 yes
cool🎹🎶
:)
@@KyleLiongCars such a shame only the S class gets the hood star nowadays, and the crome strip on the side. I remember the W212 preface lift had the hood star, and the crome strip on the side🎹🎶
@@KyleLiongCars what's the color of the car?🎹🎶
Not sure of the exact colour name
Yan ba Yung tinatawag na baby benz
Oo
Big drinker 2300cc much better
The power and smoothness of the I6 though
You know what Pierre Hedary says about this config : "avoid. The engine was shoehorned which makes accessibility a big pb". And Pierre knows it all and is known worldwide for his vintage Benz expertise. Nice video though
