    I work at a bobcat dealer and we have nothing but harness issues w the R-series just this year we have done more then I can count on my hands. I also agree with you with the dirt build up I clean a lot of customer machines and 99% if the time there caked in dirt, id recommend investing in a pressure washer its a little messy but it gets the bulk out.

    My M-series bobcat T650 gets a lot of crap down in the belly too ... but not that bad. Might be better to just make some sort of perforated plate so that the dirt falls through ...or you can wash it through a bit easier. Love How I Did It channel. It's too bad how Bobcat Corporate didn't want him to make any more videos. An so begins the disposable machines with no resale. ASV or JCB is going to be my next machine. Maybe you could get some used conveyor belt (or old tire) to make some hose shields so that crap doesnt come in by the tracks.

    Don’t forget the power bobtach stem on the end of the pump vibrates and cracks. Pours all the hyro fluid into the undercarriage. Around 250ish to replace and 4 gal of hydraulic fluid to get going again. I’m on the 3rd one.

    So it’s definitely not the best design however, a lot of CTL’s have the same issue. Bobcat sells a Frame seal Kit that goes around the bottom of the cab where it meets the frame. Definitely helps keep the underside clean. Why they didn’t just incorporate the seals is beyond me but there is a solution available. The R series loaders are great machines. They all have their pros and cons. Track loaders require a ton of maintenance due to the nature of the work environment.

  • @garymire7200
    @garymire7200 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I agree the engineering should be better to seal the inside.. beings that I am a bobcat technician you should try to work on the machine when it’s full of mud and dirt, it’s very hard to do. The main harness shouldn’t be that close to the bottom of the frame. On the M series I don’t recall having issues with harness cause it’s higher up in the frame and away from the debris.

    I understand bad design, but these machines are meant to be pressure washed after each use and that mud looks a little old in there. If you upkeep on the washes you won't have a problem. The removable plate speaks volumes on how it's meant to be cleaned, great job on cleaning her up tho

    Every trac vehicle has the same issue, drive a APC in the military. When you get back to post pull up the floor panels and see how much dirt and debris is there, then clean it out because you will be inspected and it better be clean. I have not yet been able to own a machine with rubber tracks, but what a terrible design. The sides of the frame should be solid with only a passthrough for the hydraulic motors. The hoses and wires sitting in wet dirt is just begging for corrosion. Hoses should have been hard lines instead.

      I agree! This is my first track machine so I didn't really know what to look out for before I bought it. I've owned two other Bobcat skid steers and they both were great. Other then this issue it's also a great machine. Time will tell. Thanks for watching

    That's unacceptable. Hey now that it's clean once it dries spray Honda Silicone Spray all over the hoses, especially into the connectors (it forces water out and waterproofs at the same time), and all over the metal parts where mud was sitting. Next time you go to rinse it out (after each muddy job) it will rinse right out. Then of course spray everything again once it dries. What a stupid design. I guess if you don't live in an area where it ever rains and there is never any mud....🤷‍♀

    I had a t190 and put over 2000 hours on it with no issues at all. Bought a T590 and after around 800hrs the pos has had all kinds of issues. Pins wearing prematurely, injectors going bad, drive motors and electrical issues. I will never own another bobcat. The old kubota engines are much better than this newer crap.

    Once you own a cat skidsteer you realize how cheaply made bobcats are. Cats are super quite versus the loud pump noises from a bobcat. The engineering of the cats are way better than any bobcat. There's no openings in my cat 289 for dirt to even get into the under belly.

      @@SeanKingeryHomes mine is the previous generation, the one in the video is the new junk by Doosan. the T770 is about the best CTL ever made. maybe CATs are popular in your area in the niche you mentioned but I doubt it has anything to do with the quality of the machine more the dealer is already there selling other equipment to the contractor so the pathway is already laid out. CAT is not even in the top 5 for someone that uses a CTL. Bobcat/Kubota/ASV/Case all make better machines, CAT didnt even enter my thoughts for a CTL
