Corbin you are becoming the first thing I watch when I get home. Thank you for all this work and research you do for your content. Man you should be on NESN...
This Bullpen should make anyone nervous. To depend on a 36 yr Hendriks, who has a history of injuries to hold up for a full season and be effective is a lot to ask for.
rather get 3 quality bullpen arms, maybe 1 star and, 1 upcoming player, and one reliable veteran than vladdy. sure his stats are great but triston casas in a healthy season is a dependable player
@ProBallBoys Completely agree, Casas if healthy can be an All-Star 1B. That 3 HR game last season should open people's eyes about the potential of Casas.
I'm in a good place right now in regards to the Red Sox and what they will or won't do. I'm not letting myself get too high or too low just staying thr course and waiting to see what happens with Vladdy, Bregman and Scott or who they get if anybody that we haven't heard about. Have a great day Ya'll!!
Would you be against Alonso in general, or just if he was brought in to replace Casas? He’s not a good defender, so I feel like he could be a good add if we was to be their new DH.
What an incredible coincidence that this would get written the same week that Guerrero & the Jays are said to be meeting in person to talk contract! Truly remarkable & surely doesn't sound like something an agent would put out there before sitting down with a front office to talk about a massive contract.
To get Vladdy for a long time, I am concerned health wise that he could drop off the table in performance. I am concerned about his weight and it may not be the best situation.
I can't see us getting Scott based on the high price tag and the lefty arm (we have a lot of lefties right now) so I feel like we'd be more likely to get Hoffman. As far as Vladdy he said he would sign up to the start of the Spring and gave them a number so I think you find out what he wants then trade Casas and maybe a Blaze or Blies type for Vlad and then meet his ask before Spring starts (this is the ONLY trade I would do with Casas.)
This is exactly why you don’t always sign every shiny little toy in front of you. There are long-term goals, and there are short-term goals,. The long-term goals will affect the short term goals.
I can’t stand this take. You are basically saying it’s perfectly fine for a team to willfully be worse because it MIGHT be better in the future. I can understand that on a smaller market team but the Red Sox? No, it’s inexcusable.
@ Hello Harry, Hope all is well. That’s not what I’m saying at all. Maybe I could’ve worded it better. “Many” Sox fans want to sign every player that comes up and complain when the Sox don’t. If they did, at some point, ownership, (any ownership), Will say enough is enough and stop the spending. Therefore, you look out into the future as well as the here and now to determine if it makes sense to sign player X, or sign player Y, who may not be as productive as player X, but will be adequate because player Z will be available next year and we’ll break the bank for him. If they signed player Y, they may not go up to the amount needed for player Z when he hits free agency. EVERY business has a plan with what they desire to spend. They’ll have lines they’ll go o er in some areas, in other areas they won’t, and ALL of them have a final budget.
Sox are not signing any top FAs this year. Also if you want Vladdy you need to trade for him now; don't trust the Sox signing him in the open market and why waste a year waiting for him?
Vlad not coming to Boston. Why don’t we trade for Judge too lol. It’s ridiculous this keeps getting reported. Casas is the man and assclown reporters keep making stuff up.
I think Scott would be a better addition then bregman and I think the Red Sox are a playoff team whether we get either of them if not signing bregman means we get a good chance at a top 5 hitter and a for sure top 5 closer I’m definitely ok not signing bregman Mayer Grissom and Campbell can fix up the infield i think we have enough options where it doesn’t feel like that huge of a risk
Vlad yes. I like it now. Do it now but they will want Cases. Yes do it. Thanks Corbin.... Did I mention absolutely amazing fantastic idea to get Vladdy?
25 y/o right handed power hitter is the type of player the sox would spend big on. Bregman & Arenado are on the wrong side of 30 (for the sox) to spend big bucks on multi year deals. Hopefully we get a full healthy season from Story. Refsnyder & Gonzalez coming off the bench plus Anthony & Campbell will be up sooner or later all hit lefties well.
I'm done with all these articles that predict who will sign where, or who the frontrunners are. Most of them are a big waste of time and have no actual information in them. Can they tell me team A offered player B a certain number of dollars? That's news, give me that. But they're almost all just some guy giving his reasoning why player C is most likely to sign with team D, and nothing in there is actual news. And there are other articles saying he'll go to team E or team F. It's all just pandering for clicks from fans hungry for news. I'll be going directly to the few sites that do actual reporting from now on. To be clear, Red Seat Radio gives me more than that, I'm happy here and will keep coming back. Keep up the good work please, thank you. Especially thank you for your insights on who is or isn't trustworthy among baseball reporters.
I have zero faith in this front office to do anything beneficial for this team. Breslow is worthless and has shown he is out of his depth. The ownership is too worried about buying teams than actually looking at what matters for the Red Sox. We aren’t a big market team anymore.
I would definitely continue to work on the bullpen. I would add Hoffman or Scott at the very least. If I had my way I would add them both! You'd thank me when the bullpen protected all those leads. As far as Vladdy goes I would love to see him in Boston but like you Corbin I would never trust that management would out bid the other teams to make it happen. Everything they have done so far indicates to me they are trying to avoid big price tags. They danced around the more expensive starters and relievers. I am happy that they got Crochet but considering what we gave up to get him they best sign him long term. Thanks Corbin. Joe
I’ll take back all the unflattering things I’ve said about John Henry if he allows his GM to sign Vladdy! Fun to think about the possibilities! I listen to Bowden on Front Office every Sunday and he spitballs a lot of trades so it’s hard to know what’s likely and what’s a stretch. Scott would be a great addition.
5 words... HELL YA i want Vladdy Jr. Not only would Boston LOVE HIM but he also isn't fond on the Yankees so he'd be a perfect fit at Fenway. JMO I can Dream right? 😴🛌
Why would the Red Sox move Devers to First and Casas to DH? Does not make sense. Guerrero wants $450mil. He is someone I would seriously consider. He plays first and 3rd and would mix and match great with Casas and Devers. He also fits better than Bregman. I do not see Casas signing an extension with the Red Sox. He is a Scott Boris client and Boris likes to bring his players to free agency. So I see a trade eventually. I think the agents are using the Red Sox to get more money for their players. I believe the position players are fine. I do think the lefty heavy lineup is over rated. If the Red Sox do not add another position player either Grissom (On 40 man) or Campbell will be at 2nd with Hamilton. It is also a long season and the team that starts the season is not the team that will be on the field in September. I am all for signing another free agent reliever whether it is Tanner Scott or another does not make a difference. I believe as it stand now the 2025 Red Sox are a much stronger and deeper team than the 2024 version. Especially at positions that matter. I have no problem with the big 3 all starting the year in Worcester.
I’ve been thinking about a potential Vladdy fa pursuit and I’d be very pumped if we did get him. Its just difficult to see that as a distinct possibility right now
If they’re saving to spend on him. Trade for him at the deadline and extend him. Trade for him as soon as possible so you can lock him up before the price goes way north. The only other thing I could think if they are planning on doing this, are you OK with them moving on from Casas?
idk why its taking us so long to get tanner scott if we really want and idk why its taking us years to get bregman. bruh if anything we all under appreciated oneil this free agency. o would love vladdy but i doubt we getting him and does he even wanna come here?
Wether he wants to come here doesn't make a difference! Unless Toronto is willing to trade him then a deal could get done but his impending free agency would complicate a deal! But I doubt an inter- division trade probably wouldn't happen as they are rare!
Have I not been forever talking til I'm blue in the face about not spending on a bat and waiting on Vlad?!?! Lol.. Lets just be patient and qllow this to happen naturally!
I think Scott to the Sox would be amazing, they still need a reliable and proven closer on the team, they just have too many question marks on the team right now. Also I had mentioned about a month ago that Guerrero Jr might be a big reason they have been mentioning trading Casas, that combined with his injury history, lack of not wanting to sign a reasonable extension like Bello & Raffaela, and his personality has been rumored to be something not really liked from certain people in the Org. I still think they are looking like they are gearing up for 2026 and if they do anything this year it would just be a bonus. You can still trade for Arrenado, who wants to come here, and then next year get rid of Masa and switch Raffy to DH and Arrenado to 3rd and Vladdy to First. That would be the ultimate in offense, Defense and you would hopefully have sured up the pitching this year with what you have done. If Vladdy wants Boston, and they know it. I think that would be the best even if it might just be speculation right now. I highly doubt he will sign with Toronto, Almost all players reject the Jays no matter how much $$ they give these days, the taxes taken are killing that team, worse than the millionaires tax we have here. I hope that sways your optimism on that just a little bit. Nice job on this Corbin.
As much as I would’ve loved Soto, I always thought Vladdy Jr was the better fit. I also thought it was strange Casas’s name has been coming up in trade rumors. Yes, they were trying to offload Yoshida’s contract, while upgrading the rotation. But even before the Bueller acquisition, the Sox seemed like they were over Castillo. I guessed it was Seattle asking far too much. I.E Kutter & Casas. I said this time last year, Soto was going to retire in a Sox cap. So maybe I should just shut up. Vladdy 2026 ! 😂
Waiting for Vlad has been a possibility. This year's FA hitters have been a bit meh after Soto. I am ok with rolling as is if it means trying out the kids. The " big righty bat" is more about hitting lefties, they could platoon with a lesser signing (for a year). After all, 3 of their 5 lefties are probably not sitting against lefties anyway (Devers, Duran, Casas), and are they going to strictly platoon Abreu after just one year or give him a chance to improve. I want to see him and the other young guys get the chance to play and improve, if you can't acquire star players as an upgrade.
Obviously these are only rumors but however very interesting. As much as I like Cases I'd prefer Vlad Jr. And my guess is Minter will be the other bullpen piece not Scott but who knows. I'm guessing something is going to happen before Fenway fest on Saturday. At any I like talking Red Sox news even in January ⚾
Yea Vladdy will love to come to the Redsox but he will love 500+mill from Mets or Dodgers more lmao! And Honestly how much more valuable is Vladdy over Casas when you factor in the price tag. Is he worth getting rid of Casas?
The Red Sox didn't even want to sign mookie Betts I'm supposed to believe that we're going to make a trade for Guerrero Jr or were supposed to sign him in free agency yeah right The socks don't like to pay
Henry wouldn’t give Betts 365M and people think he is gonna give Vlad 4-500M. I’m starting to think Red Sox fans are calling Miss Cleo and asking her to look into a crystal ball for a new rumor every day lol.
@@redseatradio Defensively, both Alonso and Guerero are league average or worse. Offensively, both are sluggers. I DO like Vladdy, but he's going to command a fortune in trade pieces THIS year or a contract similar to Ohtani in free agency NEXT year. I think Alonso would be cheaper, that's all and put Boston in position to be AL champions in 2025, especially if they get Arenado and Helsley.
This report conveniently comes out at the end of the offseason in which FSG invested less than $100 million in total contract value so the fan base once again believes they will “go big” next year. Do not fall for the “boy who cried wolf” routine again.
And Soto wants to be on the Sox, grew up a huge fan... This is called leverage. What better way to force the Jays to give Vladdy some of that Ohtani and Soto money that Toronto can't seem to give away than to threaten going to a division rival. 😂😂😂. Promise big free agents next yr, calm down the fanbase, poket the money rinse and repeat. Henry been doing last 5-6 yrs but a section of Sox fans REFUSE to see it.
I would be pissed if they think they can just sacrifice this season for something that is not guaranteed to even get him. I also think Vlad is really overrated. I would want Casis over Vlad. Let’s be honest here Vlad is not manny Ramirez
They made trades to help them I’m not sold on a 1 year pitcher who pitched for one of the worst teams in major league baseball history don’t buy there bullshit they have done nothing in free agency signing pitchers who have been hurt buhler Chapman dama😅goods gilioto didn’t pitch a inning last year so what are you talking about they have not proven nothing yet and forget that and do we know there even healthy bullshit
I'd rather we got the bullpen arm and leave the rest of the rotation as is; how about dragging Raffy's butt up from the DR get him in shape and do 3B defensive drills until he is cutting off balls in his sleep...
If you take a look at FA after 2026, there will not be another position player who lands a $200m contract for a few years. Which makes me think Mets will be heavy bidders on Vlad. We will not outbid the Mets if their plan is to pair Vlad and Soto together. On the one hand setting up the perfect offseason could set you up for the next 5-7 years of championship contending. On the other hand, what proof have they given you that they can close a deal on a high priced free agents? It seems suspicious. Btw if they dump Casas for a depth arm that doesn’t even make the opening day roster, to move Yoshida’s contract im not going to be pleasant to be around. This Vladdy news sounds like misdirection.
This is not Fake News. Just ideas or suggestions. Fake News is "Soto signs with Red Sox" when he didn't. Ideas or suggestions might be, "Saving their money to sign Vlad next year would be a good thing to do." Big difference.
Stay away from Bregman He is a 30 yo infielder who wants 30 mill a year. All the Sox would be doing is paying for what he did for the Astros. Trevor Story x 2
Don't need Bregman or Arenado, and they'll never be one of the top bidders for Guerrero in free agency. So they'll trade Casas for Arenado and ruin everything
Vladdy and Devers is a big step back to my childhood/ teenage years of Manny/Papi. I'm all over it if true.
Preach
same here
Vlad isn’t coming so don’t worry
If this were to be true, Yankee fans will get ptsd 😂
Devers is no where near Ortiz.
This would be unbelievable. Vlad and Devers would be a must-see TV like Manny and Big Papi. 👍

You think the market has changed at all in the last 6 years for hitters though?
The only way I would trade Casas would be in a package to STL for Arenado AND Helsley and then immediately sign FA Alonso. Let TOR keep Vladdie.
You would rather have Alonso over Vladdy??? No way
@@redseatradio Defensively, both Alonso and Guerero are league average or worse.
We can't afford Vlad
Vlad Godfather is Pedro Martinez.
Fact
And Soto wants to be on the Sox, grew up a huge fan... This is called leverage. What better way to force the Jays to give Vladdy some of that Ohtani and Soto money that Toronto can't seem to give away than to threaten going to a division rival. 😂😂😂. Promise big free agents next yr, calm down the fanbase, poket the money rinse and repeat. Henry been doing last 5-6 yrs but a section of Sox fans REFUSE to see it.
Pete alonso.. SIGN PETE ALONSO , alternate him and casas at 1B/DH
I would be pissed if they think they can just sacrifice this season for something that is not guaranteed to even get him. I also think Vlad is really overrated. I would want Casis over Vlad. Let’s be honest here Vlad is not manny Ramirez
Vlad would be epic . And nightmare for the Yankees
This Vladdy news sounds like misdirection.
one thing we know for sure, Vladdy wont go to NY
Glad is trying to leverage Toronto to get his payday I don’t believe he wants to play for the Sox . He knows how they try to low ball every body.
They look at everyone, signing .. nobody . Stop with the fake news
This is all created to give FSG cover, to pretend as if Henry is willing to spend to improve the Team. When we all know he isn't spending a dime.
Would it be nice to have Vlad Guerrero Jr? Let an old guy dream a little....
This is not Fake News. Just ideas or suggestions. Fake News is "Soto signs with Red Sox" when he didn't. Ideas or suggestions might be, "Saving their money to sign Vlad next year would be a good thing to do." Big difference.
@@distractionsinthewind9976 to expensive. . This is the red sox..
Who shit in your cereal? Can’t dream?
Not happening.. your smoking weed!
How am I smoking anything if these are all reports from other people I’m just discussing?
@redseatradio I believe it when I see it
@mannyaraujo1 that’s fine, but this doesn’t make what I’m saying fake news
@@redseatradio many people, reported the same thing, nothing has changed
Vlad is better than Soto
Vlad would be amazing at Fenway . I’d trade Casas and more for him if we could lock him up for 10 years
Stay away from Bregman He is a 30 yo infielder who wants 30 mill a year. All the Sox would be doing is paying for what he did for the Astros. Trevor Story x 2
Just cause he wants it doesn’t mean he is getting it
go for Vlady full speed ahead. not sure why they didnt take a shot at him while everyone else was going after the former yankee not to be named
I also think Max Sherzer could be a good fit for our bullpen
Trade Triston casa for vlady jr that would be Amazon for both team
Only if Vladdy actually signs a contract with the Sox
Don't need Bregman or Arenado, and they'll never be one of the top bidders for Guerrero in free agency. So they'll trade Casas for Arenado and ruin everything
Hope not
