In regards to this what comes to mind is something I heard at a job a training years ago, that stuck with me forever: Keep it simple stupid, or KISS; someone in Cryptic should train their employees about this. I don't see the reason why they're making this more complicated.....smh.
It's making it more complicated for us but really it's about making the game easier to maintain for them while appealing to the largest amount of players as possible. These changes shorten the gap between the elite and middle and the middle and noobs.

We need more CONTENT and to fix all the existing bugs/glitches in the game first 🤬 and not all the changes they keep doing to the toons. they want us to never hit max/end game (or understand how the stats work) so they just keeping reworking so we have to rebuild toons and spend $$$ to get back to where we was in the first place, the more I've seen from the years of playing, the greedier they have become Cryptic===🤑🤑🤑 Players===😤🤬🤕
It's hilarious how Cryptic was rather blaisé about the proposed changes "Oh, just getting rid of R15 bonding and Companion Influence..." then rework the ENTIRE system, gear, stats, companions, mounts, EVERYTHING! wow.
I've been playing for about 8 months and getting close to maxing the stats on my new main and in Avernus getting the treasure map armor but all my work strikes me being for naught now because it's all going to change and thinking why should I bother doing anything to improve him at this point, I should just do nothing until the update drops. I'm just glad I saw the Aragon's Companion update video when I'd only upgraded 2 to Legendary so I only needed to do 3 more (unlike my 1st toon who got 5 in 2 categories to get the 15% bolster).
Aasimar are getting screwed. They sold us on a 1% outgoing damage increase and now changing it to a 1% power increase. Bait and switch. Also, taking 1% less damage from all sources seems to have been removed.
@@RainerNW That's not a good tradeoff at all. It is only useful if you are in a group and that group does not have another Aasimar in it, since the bonus does not stack. So for me, it would be useless about 95% of the time.
It seems you were quite right in your assertion that the new Companion stat changes didn't add up as they presented them to us! The solution, revamp the entire char stats and combat parsing structure :P
I have had this game since launch and everytime I try to come back it seems there have been major changes to stats/ talents/ boons etc..... It's a. deal breaker for me. Cryptic should take all that lock box money and invest in a new game engine and stop constantly changing everything

So much time and grinding i put in my radiants and empowered runestones are wasted, it even seems like we wasted real money on stuff witch now will be useless. Looking forward for more updates.

wow, they need to add back the trader for enchantments and runestones like they did at mod 16. This is just as big of a change and the ability to trade our maxed enchantments and runestones is a necessity.
@ sadly mine are still bound from mod 16. Personally Idc about the binding cuz as a healer we don't need every offensive stat, I just don't wanna have to pay out for new enchants if i in fact do need to change. And I think the change is big enough to warrant an exchange merchant
If dungs become longer to ending, they beter upgrade drop rate on chests .... that the only real fact after all. Ok for a chalenge to do long time and strat pack to pack dungs, but not for a peridot or a blue gear to sell on gold..
Really sad power will be useless, 90% of the player base use radiant, empower runestone, power compagnon, power insigna. Now all will be garbage and have to start over again. All t3 hunt gear will be useless too. I guess we have to wait and see if they can fix that big mess up. Why they dont take the time to make more content and fix bugs. Normaly i realy hate be negatif but ... lol. Btw really good video rainer, cryptic should paid you for all the work you do.

So they had us hunt the T3 for Power armor, but that’s now near pointless, and the weapons we spent so much time improving are also meh. It’s not like we all hung onto old weapons and armor. They were turned into transmutes. Bleehhhhhhh.
well, I play in mmo from 20 years and keep everything. Always left one item in archiwum. Sorry, but In my opinion players who destroy everything are just stupid. One member of my guild destroyed forge box cos didn't know what it is, he is lazy and don't know English, that just burn it cos was green...
Empowered 15 dropped 1 m in price while indomitable reached 2.5 mil... Insignias too are half price , I just finished farming ME for armor pen gear on my companion and now it's gone XD

what items give you 23.6k out healing?! :D Im on full panic mode, because I play dps, healer and tank... that means around 6 hours of balancing :D I dont think I will do it... :D
Overall, it hasn't been. Focus has been shifted from Power being everything that increased your Damage to: 1. Your Damage being higher by default. 2. Your Damage automatically improving every time you improve your iLvL. On top of this as part of the changes, they are boosting the overall strength of player Powers due to how much Mount Powers were becoming a large amount of your offense.

But I'll also presume you are including Piwer that took you beyond the correct levels for content and the poor consistency between different levels of scaled content in which case it is closer now to being correct than on Live servers. Thete is no nerf there, it is Power we shouldn't have had to begin with.

this looks like its geared to players like me and my friend who are still getting our main characters to level 80 (we've only played for 80 hours total with a couple dozen hours on our mains) to make it easier actually reach that max cap/endgame without grinding out half a trillion AD or spending a few hundred dollars on the game
What I don't get is... It looks like when you raise item level your other percentages go down. So why do I want to increase item level then? I mean you're just going to get scaled up or down as needed anyway. It's like they are punishing you for getting a higher item level. Scaling always bothered me anyway. What is the point of getting more powerful if you're just going to get nerfed. I've had number one damage in lomm once, and yet I was out dps'd by a non dps character in, I think it was cloaked tower once, and they weren't even 5k item level! So I spend all this time advancing my character just to get scaled back so a low level character can outperform me? And now this change seems to punish you more in all content for raising your item level! Unless I'm missing something, this is the kind of grind that kills any motivation to play, at least for me. Chasing a moving carrot you will never catch. I'm willing to give this a chance, but an endless repetitive grind is not my idea of a fun game.
Have fun with the character builder update ! It's going to be lots of work. This change is honestly super weird. But I think it can turn out okay on the long run. At least in terms of power balance between players in scaled content. There were much simpler solutions though... Balancing our stats for endgame will certainly be quite a puzzle !
RE Forte, Am I understanding it wrong, Forte as a stat unlike defence or power doesn't actually modify anything else. Forte just splits the points you put in there 3 ways no more no less. unless you can't actually find gear to max out the stats for lets say for a Hellbringer( Power, CA and Awareness) could you not avoid Forte all together? 4 points into Forte still only = 2 power,1 CA and 1 Awareness.
This is probably the worst change that they’re trying the game looks like it’s trying to go backwards! A rework isn’t needed just companion changes would’ve been fine.
I may be wrong, but i think the new meta its not cap all status like before, no more reach 90% in all. This seems Bad... but lets see I play tank i can focus on maybe 90% Defense 50% deflect 30% deflect sev... or 50% Defense 90%deflect 90% deflect... like 1 tank have defense suck dmg the other deflecting it. If so we can start to see 2-3-4 different builds in every class/paragon making not 1 armor BIS but 2-3 depending on play style and status same goes for enchantments... maybe vorpal is bis on a high crit build but useless on high power. i would like to have several load outs with different build based on play style/approach instead of 1 build with 80k all other with 90k.
still very closed options not like in Skyrim where you can be first archer later tank etc. I play fighter but want have fight from dystans or do dmg a grp of mobs around me, or dogged etc.

The problem is some toons are to op.. I think they are trying to balance the game to make it fun again.. I play on console off and on and I see toons doing dungeons solo that take normally take a group that is a problem.. I agree bugs should be fixed first and other problems.. another thing is that the content can't keep up with the op toons and it's gets boring and people complain. So this might not be that bad time will tell. Great video..
Well, I guess it's time to start a new toon or continue with one that's around mid level, because on my main I've gotten rid of all of the older gear because I don't have the space to store it all. But it looks like a lot of the older gear is gonna be pretty useful because it's not all focused on power like the newer stuff is. As for weapon sets, I'm wishing I held onto the relic ones from Sea of Moving Ice most of all, I can see that set being b.i.s. now, and if you still have the primal set you might want to bring those out of retirement too. I just hope the add a merchant to P. E., or other hubs, that sells all of the weapon sets that can't be gotten through the other campaign stores and that you can buy them with in-game currency and not a.d. or zen, because even trying to get a set of elemental evil weapons is gonna be a pain in the ass because they no longer sell the wands to make sure you get the mot to drop and the H. E. that they drop from isn't always up and it only pops once every hour or so. So for the veteran players that don't have all these other sets put in our banks somewhere will probably end up going back to the ascendant weapons, most likely mirage or fey, or even aboloth.

when people say they dont like this , its normally cause their pets gave them high stats and they didnt have to be at high itm lvl to get massive power and combat adv for example ... now the stats arent pet heavy and your toon need to be geared not your pet ! which is how it should be
Not sure why they capped it at 90%, 100% would be more sensible; so we can crit most of the time, can deflect most of the time, just every now and then we can't and there is nothing we can do about it. I guess at 100% defence we become immune, I doubt that though.
@Hellena Rose I was thinking about that a lot. My best bet is that most of new players are so used to being carried by vets, they have no clue how to play the game. Neverwinter players are lazy. Because the game is easy. What bothers me personally is that most of the game mechanics in are skipped cause of 2-3 players melting content in trials. I hate tanking in RTQ and REDQ cause it is boring and literally not needed. Properly working scaling in the game would fix that, and open oportunity to revive some old dungs by increasing difficulty and rasing rewords accordingly, but fixing the lazy players - to that I have no answer.

What was in game and craptic trying to kill - if u have brain and can learn fast - u will run dungeons faster, find proper builds faster and gearing chars faster than most. Earlier this year NW devs put out a new user agreement that strips you from any legal claim against them for this bait and switch well their wrong. We do have a recourse. File a complaint to the FTC and your local GA because this is a way for them to force children and adults to gamble on BIS items. If enough of us file claims with these companies they ll be able to file a class action on our behalf.
lol, guy owners of online games have a bigest law brake than lootboxing. In Europe is law that this is a hazard, that let children under 12 let play without permission at paper is illegal, that a lot of terms in OWHD are illegal and they can't order you what you allow in game or not. It is forbidden to change stats of items, toons etc after buy it or they should give back money.
They won't make playing the game illegal, they'll just take away the ability to use your credit card to purchase zen. That's what they've done in the country I live in. The only way for me to get zen right now is through the a.d. exchange, and that's got a huge backlog.

Nope. This game is simple hack and slash not rpg. They try make mechanics and stats complicated like in real rpg but they have not lore, content, mobs, maps, story for this. What is for something like this in game where you just kill a lot of mobs and do same quests like pick up this, give it to npc, kill numbers of mobs. No crafting, no quests, no big world and story. This game is kpina, small maps with bariers and moving like shooter from 2000.
Tbh, even from little I've heard already from only 9:34 I'm already a little, i stress a LITTLE less fearful for the Future of Neverwinter as this new System seems setup to come full-circle & balance itself out nicely & actually buff us up quite a bit in the short AND long term. Mind you if things change or my gut instinct ends up being wrong then I'll admit it when i know, but for now i actually see this working pretty decently (cuz dungeons will also be reworked to accentuate/compliment the new stats System)

To be honest, I don't know yet... I will be working on builds when everything settles down. Making builds now would only be speculation..

Since most sources of armor pen will now give crit severity, crit severity will be easy to cap. What's going to happen to all our vorpals...

How bad was power nerfed? They must want people to hit like noodles and take over an hour just to do simple tasks.

@@tgwolf7575 ? Have you played on preview? Because this is what I did since the second preview was up. Not only we are nerfed at half even if they fix all the bugs, but the system is set up to never significantly improve.
@@magdalenavalentinaferu2864 I have and I also pay attention to the Dev. team when they mention that as usual with first updates on Preview; nor everything is translating 1:1 between Mimic and the Live server. But I'll also presume you are including Piwer that took you beyond the correct levels for content and the poor consistency between different levels of scaled content in which case it is closer now to being correct than on Live servers. Thete is no nerf there, it is Power we shouldn't have had to begin with.

this looks like its geared to players like me and my friend who are still getting our main characters to level 80 (we've only played for 80 hours total with a couple dozen hours on our mains) to make it easier actually reach that max cap/endgame without grinding out half a trillion AD or spending a few hundred dollars on the game
What I don't get is... It looks like when you raise item level your other percentages go down. So why do I want to increase item level then? I mean you're just going to get scaled up or down as needed anyway. It's like they are punishing you for getting a higher item level. Scaling always bothered me anyway. What is the point of getting more powerful if you're just going to get nerfed. I've had number one damage in lomm once, and yet I was out dps'd by a non dps character in, I think it was cloaked tower once, and they weren't even 5k item level! So I spend all this time advancing my character just to get scaled back so a low level character can outperform me? And now this change seems to punish you more in all content for raising your item level! Unless I'm missing something, this is the kind of grind that kills any motivation to play, at least for me. Chasing a moving carrot you will never catch. I'm willing to give this a chance, but an endless repetitive grind is not my idea of a fun game.
So what good does it do to “lower your targets defense” now that armor pen isn’t a thing? Is it once again a damage taken debuff?

Have fun with the character builder update ! It's going to be lots of work. This change is honestly super weird. But I think it can turn out okay on the long run. At least in terms of power balance between players in scaled content. There were much simpler solutions though... Balancing our stats for endgame will certainly be quite a puzzle !

You can get up to 90% crit chance, and up to 90% crit sev. Everything basically now is capped at 90%

RE Forte, Am I understanding it wrong, Forte as a stat unlike defence or power doesn't actually modify anything else. Forte just splits the points you put in there 3 ways no more no less. unless you can't actually find gear to max out the stats for lets say for a Hellbringer( Power, CA and Awareness) could you not avoid Forte all together? 4 points into Forte still only = 2 power,1 CA and 1 Awareness.
Correct, forte just is another means of moving rating stats into % stats... only moving stuff around
This is probably the worst change that they’re trying the game looks like it’s trying to go backwards! A rework isn’t needed just companion changes would’ve been fine.

I may be wrong, but i think the new meta its not cap all status like before, no more reach 90% in all. This seems Bad... but lets see I play tank i can focus on maybe 90% Defense 50% deflect 30% deflect sev... or 50% Defense 90%deflect 90% deflect... like 1 tank have defense suck dmg the other deflecting it. If so we can start to see 2-3-4 different builds in every class/paragon making not 1 armor BIS but 2-3 depending on play style and status same goes for enchantments... maybe vorpal is bis on a high crit build but useless on high power. i would like to have several load outs with different build based on play style/approach instead of 1 build with 80k all other with 90k.

The problem is some toons are to op.. I think they are trying to balance the game to make it fun again.. I play on console off and on and I see toons doing dungeons solo that take normally take a group that is a problem.. I agree bugs should be fixed first and other problems.. another thing is that the content can't keep up with the op toons and it's gets boring and people complain. So this might not be that bad time will tell. Great video..
Well, I guess it's time to start a new toon or continue with one that's around mid level, because on my main I've gotten rid of all of the older gear because I don't have the space to store it all. But it looks like a lot of the older gear is gonna be pretty useful because it's not all focused on power like the newer stuff is. As for weapon sets, I'm wishing I held onto the relic ones from Sea of Moving Ice most of all, I can see that set being b.i.s. now, and if you still have the primal set you might want to bring those out of retirement too. I just hope the add a merchant to P. E., or other hubs, that sells all of the weapon sets that can't be gotten through the other campaign stores and that you can buy them with in-game currency and not a.d. or zen, because even trying to get a set of elemental evil weapons is gonna be a pain in the ass because they no longer sell the wands to make sure you get the mot to drop and the H. E. that they drop from isn't always up and it only pops once every hour or so. So for the veteran players that don't have all these other sets put in our banks somewhere will probably end up going back to the ascendant weapons, most likely mirage or fey, or even aboloth.

when people say they dont like this , its normally cause their pets gave them high stats and they didnt have to be at high itm lvl to get massive power and combat adv for example ... now the stats arent pet heavy and your toon need to be geared not your pet ! which is how it should be

Not sure why they capped it at 90%, 100% would be more sensible; so we can crit most of the time, can deflect most of the time, just every now and then we can't and there is nothing we can do about it. I guess at 100% defence we become immune, I doubt that though.
100% has issues.. 100% defense for example means you will get 0 dmg.... I do get the cap of 90% a bit...
Mod16 exodus wasn't enough. They really are actively working on killing off their playerbase and bankrupting the game.

@Hellena Rose I was thinking about that a lot. My best bet is that most of new players are so used to being carried by vets, they have no clue how to play the game. Neverwinter players are lazy. Because the game is easy. What bothers me personally is that most of the game mechanics in are skipped cause of 2-3 players melting content in trials. I hate tanking in RTQ and REDQ cause it is boring and literally not needed. Properly working scaling in the game would fix that, and open oportunity to revive some old dungs by increasing difficulty and rasing rewords accordingly, but fixing the lazy players - to that I have no answer.
@@wube88 yes running sloooooow those dungeons which we completed thousands of times already its EXACTLY what we need.... suuuure. What was in game and craptic trying to kill - if u have brain and can learn fast - u will run dungeons faster, find proper builds faster and gearing chars faster than most. And after m16 we have mostly same shity builds, shity reward from chests and instead new dungeons - another fucking rework. Thank u, craptic! \o/

This is the wrong direction. NW is going down a very bad road. I see the real money grab in the future. A law is about to be passed by a Republican senator that lootboxing games are going to be considered illegal. I knew it felt like they were stealing from me. This game will be band from the US and many other countries. Bye bye NW. Edit: those who feel the cash grab pain and those who put time and money invested in your toon. You're in luck. Earlier this year NW devs put out a new user agreement that strips you from any legal claim against them for this bait and switch well their wrong. We do have a recourse. File a complaint to the FTC and your local GA because this is a way for them to force children and adults to gamble on BIS items. If enough of us file claims with these companies they ll be able to file a class action on our behalf.
lol, guy owners of online games have a bigest law brake than lootboxing. In Europe is law that this is a hazard, that let children under 12 let play without permission at paper is illegal, that a lot of terms in OWHD are illegal and they can't order you what you allow in game or not. It is forbidden to change stats of items, toons etc after buy it or they should give back money.
They won't make playing the game illegal, they'll just take away the ability to use your credit card to purchase zen. That's what they've done in the country I live in. The only way for me to get zen right now is through the a.d. exchange, and that's got a huge backlog.

Nope. This game is simple hack and slash not rpg. They try make mechanics and stats complicated like in real rpg but they have not lore, content, mobs, maps, story for this. What is for something like this in game where you just kill a lot of mobs and do same quests like pick up this, give it to npc, kill numbers of mobs. No crafting, no quests, no big world and story. This game is kpina, small maps with bariers and moving like shooter from 2000.
This is better for the game in longrun ..youll realise this ltr ;)

Tbh, even from little I've heard already from only 9:34 I'm already a little, i stress a LITTLE less fearful for the Future of Neverwinter as this new System seems setup to come full-circle & balance itself out nicely & actually buff us up quite a bit in the short AND long term.
Mind you if things change or my gut instinct ends up being wrong then I'll admit it when i know, but for now i actually see this working pretty decently (cuz dungeons will also be reworked to accentuate/compliment the new stats System)
