Amazing and you did it without having to look like Mark Lewis.

Ryan. nearly 7 years ago I was nearly 58 and weighed nearly 18 stone and could not run 100m without stopping exhausted. Now in my 65th year I have run dozens of half's and 10 marathons including 2 London's and one in sub 3:28. I have run 230+ parkruns and 1 in just over 20 minutes (sub 20 still an ambition!). More important than any of this is how much physically and more importantly mentally I feel now. My biggest ambition now is to still be running when I am in my 80's. I have watched 100's of running TH-cam vlogs and I can truthfully say that watching this has been as inspiring as any of them. Now as a subscriber I am looking forward to watching your running journey in the future.

Thank you Tony! This comment has made my day. To have someone as accomplished as you enjoy my vids is one of the reasons I make them.
A huge well-done and congrats on your accomplishments (amazing and inspiring to read!) and I hope that I can emulate anywhere near your benchmarks when I am 65. I am sure you will be going into your 80's and beyond. Cheers for taking the time to write this comment and good luck sir!

Completely unlike me to have followed a plan this well, that was more of an achievement than the eventual time.
Thanks for watching and the comment.

Congratulations Ryan! It’s great to see how much it means to you, I managed to get my sub 30 mins in April this year with the very same time, always sprint finish!!!
I’ve been slowly working through your videos and really enjoying your style of editing and seeing your amazing progress. Looking forward to you smashing some more PBs 🎉

Hi Ryan, I've watched a few of your videos now and I'm always impressed with your enthusiasm and humility. You have been on a fantastic journey and long may it continue. Congratulations on your 29:59 time. I love the way that you set targets and work very hard to achieve them. I have found it interesting to see how you have learned through experience and you are slowly modifying your approach.
Keep on setting targets and smashing them. Good luck with your next one.

As a heavy bloke myself, well done!
Love running myself, can manage a sub 30 quite easily, but backed off a bit instead for cycling, because some joints really don’t forgive me that easily anymore (age over 40 and its perks, I guess).
Really admire your passion and endurance for the ultra stuff! You inspired me to try this out next year.
Keep up the good work and the next 20000 subs are right around the corner!

Fantastic video as always 😊 awesome achievement. I love that you make these videos about the reality and hard work of getting fit when overweight. I got a bit fitter a few years ago, but as someone now stuck on the couch rather than the 5k , its hugely motivating seeing someone elses journey and what can be achieved. Whilst i enjoy watching other youtubers as well, a lot of them are already fit to some degree before making "i ran parkrun with no training " videos and whilst fun to watch, they arent as relatable. Your videos are really entertaining and your no quit attitude is hugely motivating. 👍

    • @RyanCondon

Thanks Puggle. I'm pleased you enjoy them. I make them the only way I know how to... With absolutely no fitness experience 😅 but an overwhelming urge to achieve the most I can. Thanks for watching and for commenting. I hope you maybe give one a try. 🙌

I can see you are below 100 Kg by now. Being fat is not compatible with your new lifestyle. You talk a lot about how you were and show videos about it. However, I always wonder what triggered that radical change from a desk-bound man eating his life away to an endurance athlete. Where was the hyperactive, highly motivated, and challenge-thirsty Ryan back then?

    • @RyanCondon
      @RyanCondon  ปีที่แล้ว +3

That is a really good question and one I could probably make a video about all on its own.
I focused my attention in the wrong directions before. Lined other people's pockets and danced to the beat of other people's requirements.
I woke up one day and had enough, left the corporate world and focused on family, myself and the world as I saw it.

@@RyanCondon Thank for your answer. Sorry if it was too personal. My father died at 50 overweight, in awful shape and I guess because he never had the courage or the urgency to do something about it. I am glad you started before your health decline. You are an excellent role model. Keep it up
