Thank you Valdet for your videos, it is really of a great help for me as I become interested in repairing old accordions, just for hobby, I have some basic knowledge. I found a very cheap and old Moreschi Italian accordion, full size 120 bass 4 voice 10 + 3 registers (all stuck) completely trashed, rusty and neglected. I managed to repair bass registers by watching your video. Than I also repaired much complicated right hand 10 register mechanism when I learned how to repair bass side. One small lever inside register mechanism, one that's opening piccolo reeds was broken but I took it to a watch repairer and he managed to weld it back together! Also I unstuck a few bass buttons that were stuck. Not many repairers are willing to share their knowledge, so thank you again. Now I have to clean all the reeds, I wont to do it properly, to remove them from the blocks and to wash them. No one wants to tell me should I wash them in alcohol, kerosene or just water and soap? I 've heard of all 3 ways being used, what is the best way and how long to keep them? I know that now ultrasound baths are used but I don't have it nor I know how to use it. Thank you and God bless you!
Hello Goran, It's great to hear that you are repairing Accordions. I had an apprenticeship with Valdet. He recommended using kerosene. He said alcohol is also good. But the alcohol needs to be 100% (no dilution). He prefers kerosene because it's not volatile.
Hi Valdet, I have two reed Borsini accordion, my problem with the keys is some of them bended towards the grill. I loosened the screws on the grill the give them more space. What is your permanent solutions for keys lost their shape during the time. I don't want to push too much to straighten them. I am afraid to break them. Thanks. I am also from Bosna. Thanks for your videos, and also thanks to Josh for sharing this with us.
@@BreezyBellows I just sold it today to a friend who needed to play in church. :) sorry it happened so fast. I will send the picture when I have a chance to catch him again. Thanks Josh. Keep posting your playings and repair videos.
You are gluing cracked key tops. You should replace them. Contact cement is not glue to use on key tops. Once you glue them with this type of glue and if you will need to replace key tops you will damage wood base of key. This glue is too strong! You don't need any special tool to replace key tops. All can be done with out that tool.

Hello, can you make a video of how to soften and lower diatonic accordion buttons
I'll ask Valdet.
Maestro any tips for repairing a key that only plays when bellows close and no sound when pulling bellows open?
That should be a problem with the treble Reed block. I will try to make a video for that.

12:46 Does he say, "... tuning mustard"?
He says "tuning master"
Very good video!
Thank you!
