I agree that F1 should just eat the expense of $750K. I'm sure they can easily afford it. I also agree that the production of it all was terrible. It's unreal how they just don't seem to care at all about Esports. I feel bad for the drivers honestly...terrible organisation.
Well, at least they were all flown on and on tge technical side it seemed to all have wirked pretty well. No connection issues etc. Brandon Leigh did say he had some issues with equipment, but other than that they were no complaints. All in all, it obviously could've been better, but at least the racing part, which is what it is ultimately about, was without any issues.
I feel like iRacing has promoted and put on better events across multiple types of racing series over f1 which is kind of insane considering the size of f1
They did actually mention the next event in the last 10s of the TH-cam stream: "The next F1 Sim Racing event will be the North American Championship on December 15 and 16."
Well said. I am not that much of a F1 Fan anymore, but that Ronhaar Storyline got me hyped for this Series. And then it was just pure Luck the live Race popped up on my YT Main Site. I mean wtf is this. Compare that now to the World Series Final in Gran Turismo. There is even Ingame Advertising and small Campaigns. And they are definitly not driving for a Prize Pool. And here i am left in the middle of nowhere. Well Done, F1.
Wasted potential, the game could be amazing and its not, the e-sports could be amazing and its not... Like you said, they just want to fill their pockets with minimal effort.
Yeah GG to Thomas. But let's be honest.. if Jarno Opmeer sorts out his qualifying pace💀 it will be a close fight. Bro went from ninth to p2 in esports. That is something.
F1 esports will quickly die if there is no financial reason to compete in it. You cant live comfortable in this world making 18k or less in a year. U gotta spend money to make money; a business like F1 knows this but they dont wanna fork up the cash.
If it weren't for it showing up in my TH-cam feed as it went live I'd have had no idea the event was happening. I thought Matt from P1 did a great job with the live calls, and overall really enjoyed watching the event. Just seems like an odd shame that the event was basically a secret. That odd (but fun) event with Charles and the random celebs like Daniel Cormier was more front and center than this actual Esports event which I find confusing but also on par for what F1 seems to be marketing itself as.
I think the entire F1 esports community owes Ronhaar an apology. The harassment and hate he unrightfully received was crazy only for him to come to LAN and prove everyone wrong
Can someone please explain why the constructors is worth pretty much 10x the drivers championship? It is not like the team needs the money to develop the car for the next season.
private parties should reskin some 'formula' cars in AC and start leagues of their own. No F1 related branding, just generic 'Formula' (or whatever) branding if any. new AC version supposedly early-ish 2024. attract drivers, stream it, attract advertisers/sponsors. more people get involved. hand out prize money. just keep the real life F1 and car manufacturers officially out of it.
These days if an event isnt doing millions in profit it is cancelled or whatever… Sadly investors dont care about comunities or fans or drivers they care about Return On Investment.
Even Creator Series is way better than this year's F1 Esports. What a joke. What a bunch of clowns. The level of disrespect to everyone, but mainly the drivers is appalling.
LoL it's funny how you made 200 videos of you thinking Ronhaar cheated. And now he proved everybody wrong you just talk about it for less then a minute on a video that's actually about something else.
How many people watched this? Watched a small part. Even as a simracer I don’t really care about watching this. Didn’t know the event was on. TH-cam recommended.
we all should not buy F1 24 just to make a Point on this. fck the Game/Developer, there are alot better lookin and hell better physics progr. Games alrdy out there!
Future F1 will be like F1 manager game but in real life.. "managers" beign in pit and commanding their strategy there.. Then ai is driving the car on track and "managers" gives commands what to do.
all I can do is hope the next gen version of this game sparks some much needed overhauls in terms of leadership in F1 esports and at Codemasters. Unfortunately I don’t think that’s how this all works but at this point what else can you do as a genuine fan of this franchise? Anyone with half a brain who is more than a total casual feels completely shafted by this game. It’s exhausting.
i dont get why they're just wanting this to flop! As you said, no mkt, no hype, no schedule, they just are doing, as we say here, in brazil "pelas coxas". IF the PSGL ,or even WOR organizers had the license to do this, nobody have doubts that would be so much bette. Its just annoying how hard its to get some information of events.
In one word: amateurish. You summarised perfectly and I won't repeat anything. All I want to add is I feel bad for the commentators and teams and drivers. To be given a 10 minute notice before Q1? Really?
Embarrassing and disappointing, is the 2 words I'd choose to sum everything up. PSGL and WOR do alot better job at broadcasting, not missing qually laps or parts of the race, better commentary. Lack of communication would be an understatement, there was zero announcements that the event was happening, I would have missed it if you hadn't streamed the event. I think the prize fund is still way too low, 18k for the winning driver, if you added up the hours and days these drivers put into the game to compete at their level, it would be less than minimum wage for the winning driver, for a game that made 2.2b on f122! If they actually advertised and marketed the game, and let the drivers actually talk about esports such as when it's going to be happening / what tracks they will race at, im sure the hype they create with their followers would contribute to a much healthier revenue. What a mess!
Recently Ben Daly was sponsored by Sky Sports, while valid you feel like the top F1 Leagues like psgl and wor deserve it more and would do a better job than 'F1 Sim Racing'
Completely ridiculous. I follow F1 league racing and I had no idea about the event, how are "normal" people supposed to know? To get hyped about it and then watch it? It could easily become a huge championship with so many people watching if it had good marketing. More people watching = more sponsors = more money = more investment = better quality = more people watching = more money. It just sounds so dumb how they couldn't even post a damn tweet/IG post... One of the biggest wasted potentials I've ever seen, I feel for the drivers.
The whole attitude towards Esports from F1 is terrible. They have a game dedicated to the series which was in shambles last year, due to the amount of cheaters that were present. No such issues were fixed until F1 23 was released, with anyone who continues racing on F1 22 being at the mercy of cheaters forever. Let's also not forget that a significant amount of activity went towards F1's channel's due to Esports during COVID and assuming that interest has dropped, that would at least partially explain why they do not want to increase the prize pool. Apart from that, why would they even bother putting the event together, without a single announcement? If it seems that it's clear to them that it does not make any financial sense, why won't they outsource it to someone who feels different, they will get a flat fee or a percentage one and at least the product will seem more worthy of a billion dollar corporation.
Most messed up thing was when Lucas had contact with Ferrari they didn't even show replay or what actually happened there. Commentators just idiotically said oh look lucas has gone 16 and didn't even care about it like what actually happened and that. And had one of the worst commentary man it was very bad hearing that
It has nothing to do with how much money Formula 1 makes. F1 Esports doesn’t bring in the amount of money that F1 does, therefore the prize pool won’t be as big. Not announcing your event is not exactly helping them out either.
The fact that massive companies are enticing young people to treat esports like a real job, then barely paying them, while they throw away educational and career opportunities, is absolutely sickening. It is a fools errand to treat esports as a viable career path. Almost no players make any substantial money and most don't make it big in streaming in the long run. Not a great outlook once their game loses esport popularity and the money dries up. There is just no real value in esports. They don't bring much revenue in, they don't boost sales because no one watches them, and they are expensive to officially produce and run.
Last year it was a shit game and esports was fine. This year everyone enjoys the game and cant wait for esports and these guys dont know how to deal with it.
F1 did all what he asked for last year. Probably they saw that they are just losing money with it. So there is the answer why they do nothing this year
I believed in Ronhaar from the start. You guys have to realize this whole “jarno is the best!” doesnt work long term, there is always someone newer better thats going to come along. Wont be surprised if we see a young kid i. 24-25 who comes out of nowhere and beats him. Evolution. Everyones putting in hours and hours per day for years to get to that next level. Everyone gets caught and passed.
dude, cheathaar had a full year to practice, yes same as others, but it was his but on the table. He was already on that pro level, he was just preparing a lot to perfect his skills for the event. But I still have no doubt that he cheated in many online races in F1 22, especially in qualifying in Q1 and Q2. One more thing also, take someone who never drove anything, and give him full year contract and coaching and top equipment and you can create a champion.

18k for winning is wild, binning off any chance of these drivers making a career in esports.
"career"
@@AmsterdamHeavy they’re the best esports drivers in the world. their contemporaries in other games make 10 times that for one tournament.
@@OK-fi4yq they really aren't the best sim racers. iRacing pros like max Benecke are so much better
@@AmsterdamHeavyyes it’s a career
They're driving virtual cars. There isn't any meaningful ROI for all these teams and sponsors.
I feel like iRacing has promoted and put on better events across multiple types of racing series over f1 which is kind of insane considering the size of f1
Main contributing factor for that is that iracing cares about performance, wheras F1 esport is a arcade cashgrab
And iracing put no money
It was crazy to me that the commentators did not comment on the current champion pitting on lap 4. Only laps later casually asking why Blakely is 16th
They did actually mention the next event in the last 10s of the TH-cam stream:
"The next F1 Sim Racing event will be the North American Championship on December 15 and 16."
