'Light' is about suicide ideation and the feeling of a weight being lifted off of your shoulders once you've decided to commit suicide. Suicide is never the answer. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. We are all made lesser by the willing absence of our fellow human beings.
But we can't shy away from talking about suicidal thoughts. Every word in this song hits close to home for every member of this band and reflects our struggles with mental health.
