  • Engitopia returns in Cities Skylines (City Skyline) as I perfect The Wedge by making it a complete circular city in CS! I basically make a circular version of the dystopian city called NEOM's The Line in Cities Skylines!

if you have moveit mod use ctrl + H on the node to make it match the height of the other nodes. also the hump at 10:39 seems to be more than one node so you will have to keep lowering the height. the weird glitching might be because the pillars on top of the quay/raised terrain.
there's a roundabout mod that helps you build things in a circle.
one change you could make is to move the road to be on the river bank. this will prevent the canyon. you can also move the power lines down there too.

  • @Mastikator
    @Mastikator 2 ปีที่แล้ว

To answer the title of the video: YES. Yes it is.
In fact make all roads single directional and each layer of roads in opposite direction, make the roads between layers single too. You only have merge and split. Vehicles only ever need to slow down to allow pedestrians to cross roads, there is basically no congestion ever. Even when you get to hundreds of thousands of pops, which is a massive town in this game.
Second is tons of bus stops and make public transport free.
Fourth is put residential and commercial districts close to each other, very close actually. This will enable a huge portion of the residents to get jobs that they can walk to. You can also put non-polluting industrial zones (like woodworking) next to residential.
Third is subways, use them, these should connect disparate parts of the town.
This almost eliminates cars completely, which means you can make the city far more dense and far bigger because the infrastructure can very easily support it. IDK if the game simulates it but it alleviates a huge cost of living for people when getting to their jobs is fast and free, they save a huge amount of time and money.
It's also the best way to design cities and towns in real life.

0:40 "World's first underground airport" shouldn't that be the "World's first underpass airport"? next he needs to build a dock beside it under Bridgetopia to complete his underpass ports.

You got that mountain behind the ball and the poo-cano. I think they should be connected by a giant Sydney harbor bridge. Now that is an engineering feat

I've got an idea (I know what you're thinking: "He's got an idea again! Run for the hills!" but bear with me for a moment)... so, like, make the circle as you did, right... but make two (nudge nudge wink wink) this time: one is like the "wedge-pokébal" - a funnel or a hopper-shaped thing (like an open-pit mine, kinda)... and the other one is like a wedding cake - opposite to the funnel, basically (but the same exact dimensions and layout, though)... and then like have the two cities compete or whatever... I know, it's a really stupid idea (and you won't read this comment, anyway, either, or do the idea - but if you do, no need to credit me or anything, 'kay?)

"oh no, a hump! How do I get rid of this?"
seconds later: "oh it's made a hump, I quite like that"

I'd be tempted to call it the Colossuseum maybe, definitely reminiscent of a coliseum but on crack! Or perhaps 'Paddy's food bowl'... or 'city where the pee is stored'. Either way, cheers for the content 👌 cuddles for Paddy ☺️

With the mod 'move it' you can put a node (the joint between the segments of the streets, ...) at the same height of another node. In this way you can put an entire street, with multiple joints, all at the same height

    Day 36:Dear Matt,
I have a very good video idea
Gather all your editors and make them all have a fight on like a PvP game (e.g. Minecraft,Rust,Ect,ect...) And see who is the best editor and is worthy of the rank of a classified engineering. From me.

A high density self sufficient area makes a lot of sense, just not in a line. Glad you're trying different shapes.
