I would be more inclined to build a model FOR someone requesting it, that way I know they really want it. Frank, your builds are far better than most of us did as kids, and that's really all I have. If I was to give someone one of them, they would take it out of mercy! 😉 Being more serious now, I really like the '66 Impala, the Charger and Dart in this video. I have those kits, and I'll consider that in seeing your videos, you've given me a gift this year to target building them a lot better.
You are the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks for all your hard work. Would like to see something from the military side sometime. Your channel restarted my modeling and I thank you for that. Have a merry Christmas.
Great video Frank, appreciate the shoutout. To answer the question, I have given away a couple builds and have received some builds from fellow modelers. I agree, it’s nice to share your work with people that enjoy it and I’ve been enjoying receiving some builds to have on the shelf. Beautiful builds all around as well!!
I've only given built models to a few people. A few years ago I gave my dad a Revell '63 Chevy Impala SS that replicated a car he drove when I was a little kid. He asked where I got it. I told him I had built it and it almost brought him to tears. It's one of the proudest moments in my model building lifetime.
Some beautiful models there Frank. I'm having ☕️as I watch. I have only given away a couple of models. One, a 70 Corvette, is with my friend in Taiwan. He gifted me a Gundam that he built. It holds a special place in my heart. I totally understand your sentiment. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Loving what you do.
I will never forget the look on my Late Dads face when I gave him the replica of one of his Roadway semi trucks!! His favorite was the White Road Boss !! After a lifetime of driving truck, and many millions of miles driven !! First time i ever seen tears in his eyes, except when i was born of course!🤣🤣 Sadly I ended up with it after his passing December 24 2015 ! That is one build that will never leave my showcase!!! I prefer giving them away verses selling them, of which I have done! The sold ones I would have rather kept them! Would be awesome if that boss Mustang you just finished ends up under my tree 😂🤣🌲! That car is gorgeous!👍🏻 Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 Frank!! 🎄🎁👍🏻🫡🇺🇸
You’re truly an asset to the hobby. Enjoy your stories. I’ve built some models for friends who said they didn’t have the skills, but did so to encourage them. I’ve also built some with friends so they would have the desired result. You are in a class by yourself in giving. My favorite is giving your 66 Impala to a stranger who couldn’t stop looking at it. Best wishes to you and your family for the holidays and for a happy and healthy New year
I was watching/listening while I finish assembly on two Mazda Miatas (Tamiya Eunos Roadster) for my two nieces: one is in 1970 Dodge Panther Pink for Faith, the other in 2010 Dodge Plum Crazy Pearl for Thida. I previously gave a red one to Thida's little brother, my nephew Toy, when I was home a few weeks ago. My cars really aren't that good (getting better), but are perfect for little kids. I have two curbside 2010 Challengers for two of my nephews almost done also.
Nice models Frank. I’ve build multiple models as Christmas gifts for my dad. 3 that were replicas of cars that he owned and one that was his favorite NASCAR driver’s car. I believe they all brought him to tears when he opened them because I had spent that much of my time on his gift. Merry Christmas brother.
Thanks for Sharing Frank-O, Started modeling 4 yrs ago back up from a kid in 60s. Did the Moebius Invisible Man and Bride of Frankenstein kits. Next 4, 1/48 WW1 Eduard plane kits. Then our son who's a mechanic wanted model of his dream car kit, A 70 SS Chevelle, but with 396. Then our Granddaughter wanted a pink Jeep. Sense then it's been Nothing but car kits, but Really enjoyed those builds I did for family. Their smile's seeing finished builds.....Priceless
I haven't given away any of my current builds, because who wants to be given a box of half painted parts. But to connect this back to Christmas I did build my parents each a model for a couple of years in my late teens. I built my mom a '64.5 Mustang and '69 Cougar both in yellow (her favorite color) and my dad the AMT '49 Merc. I'm not sure what the disposition of any of those models are these days. My mom passed away more than 10 years ago and since I never got them back (she still had them in their cases on display up to then), I presume they're still in the house somewhere.
Great video Frank. I have given a few of my builds, and when I go to their homes and I see that model sitting where they have it displayed it's a good feeling knowing that they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed building it.
This is awkward to say, but I've only given away one and it was a 62 Corvette I built for my friend who actually bought the kit for me to do. I was not happy about letting it go, it just seems like I put so much into them they would become part of me. I do understand what you are saying, maybe someday. Happy Sunday ☕🎄🧑🎄😎👍
Beautiful models Frank. You are a talented model builder. I have given away some of my models to friends and it makes for a great gift and you are right I think it means more. I know if I received a model from someone else it would mean a great deal to me. Happy holidays to you and yours.
Great Work as always Frank. I have two of your 1/48 scale Aircraft models from that last club meeting on display in my hobby room! Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope to see you at the RepLIcon show on March 22, 2025, in Freeport. There's a special theme award for the 100th Anniversary of Chrysler company. Jim
I've only given away one model. Many, many years ago, I had a huge crush on a young lady. I asked her what her dream car was and she told my it was a root beer brown Porsche Turbo. I told her that I'd get her one. I found a model kit (I dunno if it was the Tamiya), but I biult and painted it and gave it to her along with a Porsche key chain. Somewhere I might still have a photo of her holding the model. No, we never dated, but it made me feel good.
Cool Frank it's always nice to give some away. My granddaughter has 8 of my build in her bedroom and this year I'm building a Jeep in Spiderman color for her Thanks for sharing.
LDamn it Frank!!!! Love ya, but, Those models........holy cow!!!!! You make me want to quit!!! I'll NEVER be that damn good!!!! All of those were AWESOME! wow!!! Thanks Frank. I'll keep trying!
@@n8sot you should keep trying…because before 2017 or so, my models were hot garbage. It’s just a matter of applying techniques you pick up. I learned from Plasmo, Doogs Models, Will Pattison, Raoul Coulombe, and Donn Yost.
Some cool stuff in there. I had to pause on a couple of the planes to look at the weathering... and I'm not a plane guy. So there's that. Only person I've ever given a model to is my daughter. I'm about to start what will be a long term build to present to a friend of mine when it's done though.
Very nice video Frank! I've given finished models away. Also, when I worked for a uniform company, I would build NASCAR kits with homemade decals of my customers' business as the sponsor. I would put their name above the door. And make the car number the year the business was established. It's a really cool feeling to see the reaction when presented.
You're a man of many talents. Your planes and armor look great too! I built a replica of my Navy buddy's 1964 Galaxie he had back in the day. He always talks about it and keeps it on his fireplace mantel. It is a good feeling. Happy Holidays to you and your family Frank!
I give away practically all of my models, I’ve only kept a dozen over 40 years of building. It’s actually much more satisfying when something you built is cherished by someone else than eating up space in my house and when I visit them and see my build sitting in a prominent spot it’s a special feeling.
Great video as always Like you I give some away I have very limited display room so I can’t keep them all Like you say if it brings joy to someone else then it’s a great thing to do to give it away Keep up the great work Be safe
i built a tractor and trailer for my father in law of the one he drove for h.d. lee company one year. after he passed my mother in law gave it back to me
Beautiful work Frank. I've been working on a 56 Ford gasser for a month and I just got it in primer yesterday. Why can't we get primer in bigger bottles/ cans? Merry Christmas Frank.
What a great video. I gave away a number of builds some years ago during a cross-country move rather than see them suffer in transport. BTW I've been wondering what sort of camera that is you added for the overhead shots of your bench. Would you be so kind as to share that information.
Frank, I like you more and more. You're a top bloke. 😁
Happy Sunday Frank
Great video my friend, it's the season for giving, thanks for sharing 👊🏻🎄⚡
Carol (the boss) says you are absolutely adorable. I gave the Firebird to Pops last week. He was overjoyed.

Good call Frank, I finish a model much faster and often when I give them away !
I really enjoyed seeing what else you build. I had no idea. Wow. You are definitely a talented guy. Especially with colors.
Great video my friend!!
I've only gifted one, for my Father In Law, who is fighting cancer. I just put too much pressure on myself to be perfect.
I have built cars for friends and am working on two more to give to them.
