Possible bean trellis tip: I was watching a video recently (which is a few years old now) by the lady who writes the Permaculture magazine. They have a bean trellis on a 45degree angle (give or take) which allows the beans to hang down and be easy to pick, plus they don't miss any. Just a thought....
The garden is looking so good Marty- the rain does help 😍 I shalln't be able to do much gardening for a couple of months 😮💨I broke my wrist earlier in the year and through negligence it's healed poorly (painful too) so I'm going to have it rebroken and set on Friday. Oh well, sh happens 🤩Love to you and yours Xx
We got a bit of rain here today. More on Wednesday expected with 40 MPH winds. Zone 6b. Only plants in the garden now are brussels sprouts waiting to finish forming large enough to harvest some and may get (covered) beetroot greens before killing frost. If we get a killing freeze I'll pick leaves from BSprouts and cook like cabbage Loving no pest pressure. . Keep smiling. Marty. Your gardens look amazing.
The Cost of Living Victory Garden is looking great. Watching with interest your Jack be Little Pumpkin experiment. I have some seeds. I grew pumpkin once before and it went CRAZY. If Jack be Little stays little, I might be tempted to give it a go..
Looks fantastic! Thank you for all the information! Will look at Okra, have not considered growing it before! I love Choko too! People say not much taste, but I think there is and can always use it with whatever you want for flavour, as it is also full of vitamins and minerals! I've collected a whole pile of styrofoam boxes, but I read they can leach poison into your food, so am going to use them for flower beds instead :)
New viewer, really enjoyed the video, so far I have harvested 50 jalapeños from 3 plants and they are still going nuts. Also have been harvesting lettuce since September last year. Need to not plant so many of the same things as have 6 tomato plants
Could you dehydrate the sweet potato leaves and then blitz them in a food processor to a powder, and sell as a smoothie suppliment? If it is as high in protein as you say, I'm sure you could get good sales. It's got me wanting to put more effort into growing them now. I hope I can, it's belting hot here today, and going to be hotter tomorrow. Thanks for your videos ❤
I like chockoes . They are mild in taste so can add flavours including add apples and make apple pie. Could just feed fresh leaves to your chicken couldn’t you
Marty from experience get stuck into tthe feral sweet potato. Otherwise you're creating more work for yourself. Not to mention robbing your compost heap of work space and possibly nutrition
Can’t win Marty 😢😢😢😢😢 Coles have just increased the price of their basic Coles basic brand of Soy milk from $1.40 to $2.00 , a 42 % increase (60 cents in 1 hit)! , this is the only milk my family can drink due to lactose intolerance …I just want to cry my eyes out cause we are living as frugal as we can already, this has just tipped me over today 😢😢😢😢😢
Nut milk is easy to make but if you like it and I don’t know how much almonds and other nuts cost where you are at. But yeah nut milks are a good choice if you like them and not allergic. For me soy was too much to do at home, And taste weird I don’t know how they make soy milk in the supermarket taste good… makes me think its not true to the name.

They are only small pumpkins,,this is in a pot so we will see Matt
Sweet potato greens is a good one to add to your salads. Maybe you could mix it in with a miscellan mix?
Thanks, I like to steam it!

I'd like to see you experiment with solar (black box with screen inside, covered with clear top, small airflow vents) dehydration.

I reckon the girls would eat the leaves yes,,,I plan on giving most of it away to my neighbours and friends
I really enjoy the okra raw - reminds me of peas
Never tried it raw
Peg the sweet potato greens on your out side clothes line
It's all been harvested and pulled up actually
You didnt name the red veined plant we should get into
Okra, it’s awesome
✌️
Hi
Speaking of green caps, I like em green for green juicing and Ive never grown em just bought organic ones. How long till the greens change colour ?
Really depends on season and variety for change of colour. It's not really an easy question to answer sorry!
@@martysgarden thanks, I shoulda asked, “ how long is a piece of string.”😂

I just pulled 80% of it out and planted Okra!
Taste review of jack be little 🎉
A little early yet, when I harvest we will do a cook and taste
