Yeah but he essentially passed the z at the end of both follows. You're supposed to stay on the lead drivers door and follow their line not cut them off, I would assume that lost him the battle.
My guess would be as sick as those chase runs were, they may not have liked him missing the zones with an inside line to stay that close to the lead. Also a couple of runs he was almost at the front tire of the lead car by the finish line.

I love how you have the oldest and most simple car setup out of anyone, and still outclass a lot of drivers with much fancier setups. Really shows how good of a driver you are! Respect!

i normally skip over videos like this, but the geuine-ness? if thats a word, really made me watch the whole thing. No over production, just some homies going to a drift event and having fun while covering the whole thing. Subscribed for sure.

Awesome driving, Koltan. Your ruthless approach works super well. I'd never let you drive any of my cars, but hats off for the effort in this video, top notch. If I hadn't already seen GarageNightWorks' comment I would have for sure had you in 3rd place, maybe even better, you were WAY more entertaining against the Z car which is arguably a better car and easier to do well in. Had a grin on my face when you were called up in top 4, and a frown when you didn't get a trophy. Meh. Thanks for the vids, this was a good one.
Your chase runs were amazing, I think we need a follow up video that explains the judging a bit further and why they made the calls they did. For every single OMT I was yelling at my screen "WTF". I noticed the straightening against the 240, but that was in a OMT run that shouldn't have happened. I 100% agree that you were the best driver out there that day. Nice work!
You defs won the 350z battle, that was a no contest, your proximity and mimic were spot on the first round, don't see how that was a rerun situation. Good work man you should have placed 2nd and battled for 1st in my opinion. Proximity like no one else

12:20 My moms (now scrapped) V70N 2.5D (136hp D5252T Audi engine) from 2001 had almost 540 000km on it. My V70N 2.4 (170hp B5244S Volvo engine) from 2006 passed 300 000km about 2 months ago.
For anyone who's wondering about Volvos engine names:
1: Fuel, 2: Number of cylinders, 3&4: Displacement in deciliters, 5: Valves per cylinder, 6: Induction method, 7: Engine generation/variant (some don't have a variant number)
D5252T: D=Diesel, 5=5 cylinders, 25=2.5L displacement, 2=2 valves per cylinder/SOHC, T=Turbocharged
B5244S: B=Bensin (Petrol), 5=5 cylinders, 24=2.4L displacement, 4=4 valves per cylinder/DOHC, S=Standard (Naturally Aspirated)
B6294T (270hp I6): B=Bensin, 6=6 cylinders, 29=2.9L displacement, 4=DOCH, T=Turbocharged

They probaly considered an overtake in the end, he was some inches on front before the finish line.

@@Th3Sh8dow An overtake where there shouldn't be usually results in a zero most of the times. I think FD is like that, VDC is like that. If this championship is like that they were generously to even give an OMT if the judges did rule an overtake.
in scandinavia if you go to a drift event you will see so many old volvos doing sick drifts

Besides IPD , what is a good place to look for 740 performance parts. I’ve seen a few places offer suspension, but no turno kits or roll cages.. 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
I like watching street drifting a lot. Competitions are weird because they impose bias no matter what. It's not like autocross or something where you can't really argue with the times. Great vid and event, just not sure I agree with the ref team lol.

Thanks man i think the wagon makes in the 185-205whp range at 15psi boost on the stock turbo with an ipd turbo cam.
@@driftsnlifts plenty of power. Im a bmw guy and whats intresting is that it seems that the bmw engined volvo is lower in power in comparison though its an 2.8ltr.
The weight of that ar would be intresting in conparison to an e36 for example if you can ask him.
How much is weighing the wagon?
@@TheSemo66 i feel like the cars are similar hp but the redblock being a stock little quick spool turbo makes a bunch more torque probably in the 250-260ftlbs range.
The wagon weighed 2650lbs when i weighed it at an industrial scale without me in the car

Yeah lol i misunderstood, i did just get my first car around last week, and it is a 1992 Volvo 244, so exited to clean it up. The interior is almost in mint condition, no cracks on the dash, just a crack in the door handle and the seat belt holder thingy. It really needs to be powerwashed, and the muffler is dangling on there because it was so rusted i just came off of the exhaust xD
