Hilarious loss aside, getting an 86-win streak with a Swordsoul/Tenyi deck that doesn't seem to do anything degenerate or unusual is very impressive, congratulations to Jenna Allen!
It sure is YGO when a full board of negates doesn't even register as degenerate any more, just your standard first turn advantage where you either lock the opponent out of playing or you lose.
so aboard consisting of atleast 3 omni-negates isn't degenerate? this guy clearly doesn't play regular yugioh, this guy must play customs or something busted
@@KevinOsuide-qw5hu "3 omni-negates." Technically, that's ONE omni-negate, ONE spell/trap negate, and two negates for monsters on the field. This guy clearly doesn't play regular Yu-Gi-Oh (or know how to count), this guy must play some custom ruleset where every card on field is an omni-negate.
2:10 I had been trying to figure out why we didn’t stop sphere mode, and completely forgot it has targeting protection, stopping veiler and impermanence
Plus, it tributes itself as cost, meaning even if you wanted to target it with cards like the examples you listed, it wouldn't matter either way as the Sphere Mode would be in the GY and thus not on the field by the time you're allowed to respond.
@@christianwright7581 if it wasn't protected from targeting, you could reasonably activate either after owner's seal resolves to prevent it from being able to summon ra even after tributing (you, as the opponent, have a window to activate stuff right after a card resolves, allowing you to negate the effects of sphere mode before it can declare activation and tribute itself to dodge them). Unfortunately, sphere mode is better than you'd think :(
@@christianwright7581I don't think that's correct, if it were targetable, and you used imperm, or Veiler, and it tributes itself, the effect would still be negated
While watching the SwordSoul vs Ra matchup live it just got crazier and crazier bc the ball was immune to targeting. All of the attack gain was off of other effects (Ball and the Trap). So every piece of interaction (WHICH WAS 5 NEGATES BTW) was just completely hard countered by a literal 5 card combo. I love Gold gaming. Glad you reacted to this :)

Nostalgia, pretty much nothing more. I personally kinda like how it is nowadays, with all the wacky shit you can pull. Sometimes feels like Duelist Kingdom all over again, tbh. Though admittedly I don't pull nunna that often. xp
I've never seen either type of deck featured in a Goat game, the decks come off like something completely different. Honestly, other than Call of the Haunted, most of those cards don't really see play because there's much better options to use. Calling it a Goat match is a disservice to how fun the format can be, and it definitely isn't that.
I wholeheartedly wouldn't call that a Goat match, if anything, it's more a disservice to the fun that the format can have, as most of the cards played aren't even used by anyone playing it as there are so many better cards. That duel came off like two players imitating some updated school yard duel, because I've never seen whatever that was in any Goat duel ever lmao
@@rickywalters7717 Its not Nostalgia. I don't think Goat is the peak but its free of a lot of the overtuned stuff modern play has. The peak Yugioh experience isn't a time period format but rather a banlist that tones down the big stuff enough to give play similar to older formats but better because we have more to play. Still Goat is a breath of fresh air for many people and I still enjoy it because I enjoy Yugioh as a game. I enjoy modern play BECAUSE I enjoy what Yugioh was when it began. At its core Yugioh has not changed. That is why I still enjoy it.
See this is the type of game Yugioh should be. Rather than 5 minutes of solitaire, it should just be a quick back and forth . Not one person waiting because they burned 3 handtraps and the other person can still keep their combo going for multiple minutes.
Imperm doesn't work on RA because it's the trap that is using the effect not RA. Also Sphere Mode summoned RA with 4000att, so it wouldn't reset to 0 anyway, because it's atta k is 4000, via sphere mode.
20:04 In my case the answer is simple. Rainbow Ruins and Crystal Abundance made short work of all this garbage floodgates. Truly, two cards WAY ahead of their time that forever chained me to playing the gayest deck in all of Yugioh and foreshadowed my trans lesbian woman status.
