I found your channel a week ago and was instantly mesmerized. I did not know what kind of starch you used so I went looking for some. I found liquid laundry starch and decided to try it. I made about a cup and a half of strong coffee and then added the liquid starch, several tablespoons, until the coffee thickened a bit. I followed your method and the results are absolutely stunning! I’m so excited to try the many techniques on your channel. Absolutely love your style and approach!
Oh wow! Thanks so much for sharing this with me and everyone else! It’s very useful to know that we can add coffee to laundry starch and make it work. I’m very happy about that. 😊❤️
This was so C O O L !!! I love the large envelope. Thank you for doing this video. I also watched your how to make the startched napkins paper. Love this!
Thank you so much for your inspiration and sharing it with us. I am so disappointed with myself for throwing away those old road maps months ago (before I started journalling). Love them.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video. I did something similar a few months before I got into journaling. I threw away many old and damaged books. About 30 of them, and I still regret it. Luckily I kept the old piano notes. Now, I’m searching for the right ones to buy 😂
Your envelops are beautiful. I love them. You dont need a punchboard. I've made all sizes of envelopes without one. The tassels are nice too. You could use embroidery thread for them
Hi Saacibo, thank you very much for showing us how to do these, they are stunning. I have a bag full of paper napkins, and wondered how to use them differently, and these are so lovely. I'm going to try it this week, once I get some parchment paper! I love your videos, and you're a brilliant tutor. Take care, and have a lovely week ahead, xx❤❤😊😊
You’re very welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. I hope you have lots of fun with your napkins once you start doing this technique. All the best to you as well ❤️😊

I had a go at making your faux homemade paper and have just made an envelope - thank you, it's an amazing process and result! So much fun, I will have to make more... Thank you for your ideas and perseverance, it saves us all so much time. You are amazing! 👌👌🙌🙌 Nicola x
You’re very welcome Nicola! Glad you enjoyed the video and made the paper and envelope. That’s awesome! Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment 😊❤️
Love the projects you made with the napkin paper! 💜💜💜 I tried a few of the napkin papers, 2 worked perfectly. I tried adding some flat leaves, saved from eco-dying with the Sizzix, didn't work too well, separated where the leaves were placed, so once dry, pulled apart and used thinned glue to glue the napkins back together. I think the hardest part for me was knowing how long to iron the paper, seems it was either too dry and I couldn't remove from the parchment paper or not dry enough. I did finish the drying in the oven, I turn the oven on at 350 degrees, set the timer for 4 minutes and then shut it off, doesn't get up to temp, but gets warm enough, that way, if I forget it's in there, it doesn't catch fire, lol. So, gonna give it another try soon, thanks, another great tutorial! 😊
You are very welcome! Glad you worked it out. When I add leaves and plants to napkins, I use watered PVA glue, but I don’t iron. The paper tends to be a bit shiny but gives very nice results, too . Thank you so much for watching and sharing your experience with these papers 😊❤️
I like that your videos are quite long. I can do the craft in the same time without clicking on pause every three seconds 😉 I also like your calm and delicate voice very much. Thanks for sharing your talent and tutorials 😍
These envelopes and pouches are gorgeous. I love them. I was thinking if people are worried about the coffee and cornstarch going off you could add a little white vinegar.
Thank you so much for that tip! It’s very useful. I think as long as the moisture is not present over a longer period of time, papers should be fine, similar to dry leaves or flowers 😊❤️
I made some smaller ones with a spray stiffener I had (for a long time)🙄My iron was not super hot. The layers did not fuse well but I tacked with glue a bit. I will use them as journal cover padding 🌞Your project is very pretty💗🎈
Very informative, thanks a lot! 39:09 I love the elastic band closure you showed here, super functional, accessible, and pretty. Your templates for making envelopes are much more convenient, versatile, easier to use and cheaper than commercial products. I like (love!) templates. Not only in my crafting, but everywhere I want to be productive, motivated and precise-ish. If you have any templates to share, please do that on your website. If not - that’s ok, they are pretty intuitive and anybody can make their own. For me having those templates in one spot is just facilitation for my memory. Which reminds me that I need to find time to consolidate my multiple storages of templates (physical and virtual). Also, if you are taking viewers requests for topics of videos, I’d volunteer the topic of templates (types, uses, storage, etc.) and also clever closures.
Thank you so much! I love templates, too. I have a few on my website already, and I will try to make some for the envelopes as well. I love your idea about doing a video on templates and closure. I am going to do it! Thanks for the inspiration 😊❤️

Use a clean brush when u change colors. Your sunflower had to much brown. Your work is so beautiful and so easy. I just forget so I have to watch some shows a few times.thanks again for your time.
I find that even the smallest traces of oil in the mixture or on napkins can cause papers not to stick properly. Some baking papers are greasier than others and when layering the napkins avoid placing the inner sides onto the baking paper. They are super absorbent and can pick up oil from the baking papers. Hope this helps 😊❤️

Hi! I have been binging on your videos. Love them all so much! I was wondering where the video is of you doing this technique using napkins, starch, iron and baking paper? Kind regards.
I have started my first master board on a tissue paper base. I mod podged book pages all over the not shiny side of tissue paper. It's dry and stuck down well. My question is, will I have a problem getting papers stuck on the shiny side of the tissue paper?
I tried doing this on a shiny side of tissue paper and my napkin was completely stuck on it! I used starch instead of glue. I hope yours doesn’t! Thanks for watching 😊❤️
@@SaaciboTo guarantee it doesn't fall apart I think I will machine sew all the layers after I cut up the master board into pages just Incase it decides to unstick later. I have applied a layer of copy paper over the shiny side with Elmer's glue stick (I'm not impressed with how it sticks) and it seems to be 90% stuck down after I added liquid glue around the edges. Thanks for replying! 😊🦋
Yes, you can. In that case you don’t need to cook it. If you want, you can add a small amount of strong coffee to get the brown color or just add some brown ink 😊
